A POLISH start-up has offered us a glimpse at a Star Wars-laden future after launching a remarkable flying bike.
The real life 'speeder bike' was first unveiled on 30 April in footage showing it taking off and landing in a wooded area.

The video is stripped back, with real sound and no special effects.
The company also stresses that no CGI or artificial intelligence (AI) has been used to enhance the footage.
That means the days of bikes and cars zooming above our heads is nearly here - with heavy emphasis on the 'nearly'.
The flying bike, from Poland-based startup Volonaut, uses redundant jet turbines to beam a solo passenger through the sky at up to 63mph (102kmph).
Riders can fly through tight areas with ease due to its lack of spinning propellers, according to Volonaut.
Thanks to carbon fiber materials and 3D printing, the Airbike is seven times lighter than a typical motorcycle, Volonaut added.
The video shows a test pilot heavily cladded in protective gear riding a bike that has so far only existed in sci-fi movies.
The aircraft is the brainchild of Polish inventor Tomasz Patan, who is also behind the Jetson One - a type of futuristic air buggy.
5
While Patan's company Jetson continues works on a £68,000 flying car, his second firm Volonaut is working on a separate hoverbike.
World's weirdest flying car that splits in HALF so you can fly over traffic - before the wheels drive
The Airbike is the first hoverbike to achieve flight without traditional propellers, Volonaut claims on its website.
Though riders won't be airborne for long.
The Airbike can only hover off the ground for a maximum of 10 minutes at a time.
While Volonaut claims the hoverbike takes under 60 seconds to refuel, 10 minutes of air travel even at max speeds won't get you very far.
The flight was "exceptionally smooth", according to the startup, "with no vibrations and great degree of control".
Volonaut has said the bike will be available for pre-order on 1 August.
However, the company has not mentioned a manufacturing or distribution timeline.
It has also remained tight-lipped as to the price tag.
Therefore, it's unclear just how much money Airbike hopefuls will have to part with - or when the aircraft will arrive at their doorstep if they do.
While Volonaut's Airbike has definitely captured interest in personal VTOL innovations, it is interesting to note that, as of this writing, the company has not filed patents.

Inside Celtic hero's bizarre feud with James Buckley as Inbetweeners star declares ‘we're at WAR'

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) JAMES BUCKLEY and Joe Hart are anything but football friends. The Inbetweeners star, who played Jay Cartwright in the popular English comedy series, has revealed he has declared WAR on the Celtic hero - for damaging his podcast set. Sign up for the Celtic newsletter Sign up 4 James Buckley wasn't impressed with Joe Hart 4 He and his Scottish wife Claire demanded an apology from the football star 4 He eventually apologised on social media after weeks of asking 4 But he couldn't resist another cheeky pop Buckley, 37, is now making a name for himself away from acting and in the world of YouTube and podcasting with his Scottish wife Claire. Two podcasts they have started together include In Sickness and in Health, and At Home With The Buckleys. And in their most recent episode of the latter, the pair took aim at Hart for his antics while filming his own podcast Footballers Unfiltered - in the same studio as the Buckleys. They now share a set down south and have locked horns in recent weeks over the retired goalkeeper's escapades. Back in May the couple jokingly slammed the former Celtic stopper for 'wrecking' their set while filming his own show. Since then they have both continuously aimed digs at Hart for the incident on various episodes, demanding an apology for the damage. And this week, Hart finally delivered. Taking to social media, he posted a video saying sorry for the damage he caused but couldn't resist a parting shot in the clip - as he BOOTED a stuffed teddy of Jay from the Inbetweeners. And that was the last straw for the actor turned podcaster as he took aim at the retired goalie - albeit tongue in cheek - with a message in their latest show. Addressing the video of Hart, he said: "We're at war by the way. Now we share a studio space with the goalkeeper Joe Hart. BBC Sport pundit shows off shock new look with fans convinced he has had hair transplant "Is he still playing?" Claire then chimed in and had the podcast crew in hysterics with her comment, saying: "Surely not. Not at that age!" James continued: "He did break our set a little bit. We called him out on it and he sent us a little video - I think it's an apology video. "It's supposed to be an apology video and he picks up our little Jay doll there and boots it across the room very hard and very aggressively. "I just thought 'let's go' and I'll tell you something Joe Hart, if you kicked like that when you were at Man City then Pep (Guardiola) might not have dropped you. "War has been declared and we will keep you updated. "We're going to brainstorm and put some thought and money into this." "Maybe just as a joke we arrange someone to tie him up and throw him into the back of a van or something like as a joke." We're Benidorm superfans – we've spent 5-figure sum in seven years… here's the reasons it's the best place to holiday

The couple avoid the spots frequented by large stag dos and hen parties but reveal they now have no plans to holiday elsewhere ever again FEVER ESPANA We're Benidorm superfans – we've spent 5-figure sum in seven years… here's the reasons it's the best place to holiday Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) IT was the home of the beloved British comedy for over a decade, but to Mark and Karen Gregory, Benidorm is no joke. The superfans of the Spanish town have holidayed there 25 times. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 5 Mark and Karen Gregory have holidayed in Benidorm a whopping 25 times Credit: Mark Gregory 5 The couple have spent over £30k in the last seven years sunning themselves in Benidorm Credit: Mark Gregory The couple, both 50, have spent over £30,000 in the last seven years sunning themselves in Benidorm, located in Costa Blanca, after falling in love with it during their first visit in 2018. And the pair, from Swansea, now have no plans to holiday elsewhere ever again, despite anti-tourism protests in some Spanish resorts. Mark says: 'We used to go to Majorca and the Canaries, until we spotted a deal for a trip to Benidorm one day. 'We thought we'd try it for a week and we were so pleasantly surprised that my wife started looking for accommodation to go again as soon as we got home. 'It's the very best place to holiday. "The people who have bad opinions about it have never been. 'We aren't big drinkers but enjoy the budget alcohol. "The pints are 80 cents and bottles of cava are €2.' The couple often return to the same haunts every time they visit — enjoying a pint at the Western Saloon, dinner at Country Ribs or Kathmandu curry house, and cocktails at the Hotel California Beach Club. 'Stag groups zigzag home at 6am' They even love seeing the same Meat Loaf tribute act, often referred to as 'Meatloaf Benidorm', at venue Jokers. Moment huge fight breaks out at Benidorm swimming pool in front of shocked tourists Referencing the sitcom, which aired from 2007 to 2018, Mark reflects: 'The TV show is about typical Brits in the sun, but that's only about ten per cent of the place. 'Yes, you get your typical beer-bellied Brits abroad, but there is a much nicer, quieter side too. "We mainly go outside of the peak season as it's much cheaper, but there's entertainment all year round. 'People do have their own opinions of Benidorm and it is a bit of a 'Marmite' resort — but lots fall in love with it and we can see why.' The couple enjoy the year-round nightlife, particularly the live music, tribute and drag acts. And they love it so much they've visited 25 times since late 2018 — barring the pandemic lockdowns — having spent over £30,000 at various resorts in the town. Mark said: 'We mainly stick to the winter but we've been in May a couple of times. "In winter it can be nearly 40 per cent cheaper — not just to get there, but at the bars and restaurants too. 'And there is still so much to do — you never get bored.' The couple say they avoid the spots frequented by large stag dos and hen parties. Karen said: 'We know the spots to avoid. 'Simply the best' "But we do still occasionally see the stag groups zigzagging home at 6am. 'There's plenty of mad behaviour to see sometimes — and plenty of people passed out on benches.' But they find lots of quieter locations to enjoy their evenings. 5 A George Michael tribute act performs in one of Benidorm's clubs Credit: SWNS 5 A drag act takes to the stage at the holiday resort Credit: SWNS Some of their favourite nights out have been to see a Pink Floyd tribute act, a Tom Jones tribute and a comedian called Tony Scott. The couple largely stay in a self-catered apartment which they visit several times a year — and get a discount because of their loyalty, which keeps costs low so they can afford more visits. But they don't mind, as all the local produce is better quality for their home-cooked meals. Mark explains: 'We do sometimes go for meals but Karen is coeliac so it's not that easy. 'The supermarkets are much better than in England and there are so many gluten-free options for us.' The couple say that since discovering their love for Benidorm they have only holidayed elsewhere once, in Tenerife. But nothing compared to their beloved Benidorm, so they have decided to forget further travel elsewhere. People do have their own opinions, but I don't like it when people share derogatory views about it when they've never been Mark Gregory Mark says: 'There are times we think we might be 'Benidormed out'. 'But then we realise it doesn't compare to anywhere else. And when we go, it just gets better and better.' They now have no plans to visit elsewhere, and live a frugal life at home so they can afford their £6,000-per-year trips. Mark added: 'Whenever we go back there are new places that have opened, but we like the familiarity. 'If we go to a new place it takes a few days to find our feet, whereas going here, it's like coming home.' He added: 'People do have their own opinions, but I don't like it when people share derogatory views about it when they've never been. 'If you've never tried it, and you've just watched the TV show or read about it, don't just jump on the bandwagon. Benidorm is quite simply the best.' 5 Karen poses with Benidorm's Meat Loaf impersonator Credit: SWNS Unlock even more award-winning articles as The Sun launches brand new membership programme - Sun Club.

Marketing CEO Sarah said of the first rejection: 'I just said, 'No, we've only been together for six months'. "I loved him but I didn't want to say 'yes' to something I later retracted.' But tattoo artist Luke vowed to keep persisting. And on the 42nd proposal, Sarah told him: 'Next time you ask, I'm going to say yes, but just you wait.' Luke waited a year before taking Sarah to Greenwich in South East London — the home of Greenwich Mean Time. He said: 'This is the centre of the world and you are the centre of the world and I want you to marry me.' Mum-of-three Sarah, from Chelmsford, Essex, conceded: 'He finally won my heart. "He should probably get a Guinness World Record. I am grateful he persisted for so long.' The couple married in Jamaica in May — although it did not go to plan as Sarah had to struggle through the pain and ended up in hospital with a life-threatening infection when a cyst burst in her groin.
