Gill pointed his finger at Crawley and told him to 'grow some f***ing balls.' Duckett quickly intervened, positioning himself between them, but the verbal exchange continued.
A ball later, Gill rushed to Crawley and held his arms up in an X. Crawley responded by waving a finger at Gill.
Trott compared Gill's antics to those of former India captain Virat Kohli.
'We don't know what went on when England were fielding, whether they were dishing it out. But I don't like the acting from Shubman Gill; as a captain, you set the tone,' Trott said on JioCinema.

Heading into the fifth and final day of the third Test of the five-match series, the task for India and England was simple. The hosts needed six more wickets while Shubman Gill's India needed 135 more runs. However, no one could have anticipated an abject surrender of these proportions as India got bundled out in the second session on Day 5, handing a 22-run win to England. Ravindra Jadeja's lone fight went in vain as England picked up a famous win(Action Images via Reuters) Ravindra Jadeja (61*), Jasprit Bumrah (5) and Mohammed Siraj (4) tried their best as the trio played out of their skins to help India stage a marvellous comeback. However, right when it felt like India would register a memorable win, England pulled a rabbit out of the hat. There was ecstasy in the England camp but agony in India's. Jadeja kept trying his level best, but in the end, Siraj's dismissal painted a sorry picture for the visitors. 'Jadeja batted beautifully to get India to this score and this close to winning. But credit to England, they just stuck to their task. It's not like he was looking to take the bowler on. But I guess the silly point coming in made him play back. It bounced on him. But certainly, India would have thought that a great chance to get past and win a very historic win,' said Kumble.
