Kim Soo-hyun sues Kim Sae-ron's family over defamation case
Korean actor Kim Soo-hyun, recently caught in a grooming scandal linked to the tragic death of actor Kim Sae-ron, has filed an additional lawsuit and criminal complaint against her family. He has also taken legal action against Kim Se-ui, operator of the YouTube channel Garo Sero Research Institute. Se-ui further alleged that Soo-hyun resorted to physical assault after refusing to pay four billion won (approx. Rs 25.3 crore) to suppress the audio. He also accused the actor of violating South Korea's Child Welfare Act, a grave criminal offence in the country.In response, Soo-hyun's legal team asserted that the recording was AI-generated and completely fabricated. The statement accused Kim Se-ui and Kim Sae-ron's family of not only spreading false information but also filing a criminal complaint based on forged evidence. Calling it a 'serious case of false accusation,' the team emphasised their intent to hold both parties 'fully accountable.'Speculations emerged suggesting that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron while she was still a minor. The controversy deepened following Kim Sae-ron's tragic death by suicide on February 16, 2025. Reports indicate that her situation had deteriorated after a DUI incident in May 2022, which led to financial disputes with her agency, Gold Medalist. Officiating principal of govt ITI in Baramati held for bribery
The Pune unit of the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has arrested the 53-year-old officiating principal of the government-run Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Baramati after he was allegedly caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from the director of a private vocational training institute. The bribe was allegedly in exchange for appointing invigilators for the certification exams of the private institute's students. In a trap laid at a hotel in Baramati on Tuesday, the ACB arrested Avadhoot Bhimaji Jadhavar (53), the officiating principal of the Anantrao Pawar Industrial Training Institute (ITI), Baramati. The director of a vocational training institute that conducts courses for paramedic staffers had approached the ACB. 'As part of the procedures laid down by the government, the private vocational training institute was required to get invigilators from the ITI for the certification exams of certain subjects. The director of the vocational institute had sent a requisition to Jadhavar to assign invigilators for an exam of 45 students,' the ACB said. According to a press release by the ACB, Jadhavar demanded a bribe of Rs 90,000 from the complainant, or Rs 2,000 per student. The complainant gave Rs 10,000 to the accused in advance. As the accused continued to demand the remaining Rs 80,000, the complainant approached the police, the ACB said. The bribe demanded was then negotiated at Rs 40,000. A trap was laid at a hotel in Baramati. On Tuesday, Jadhavar was allegedly caught red-handed while accepting the bribe from the complainant. Jadhavar was subsequently arrested.

‘Accidents rise by 10%, black spots not rectified': HC pulls up CG govt
Raipur: Data presented before the Chhattisgarh High Court by a court commissioner showed that road accidents in the state increased by 10.28% and fatalities rose by 9.50% in 2024 from 2023, while identified 'black spots' have not been rectified by authorities yet. The court commissioner highlighted that 'black spots' – accident-prone areas – identified in Raipur, Durg, Janjgir, Sakti, and Mungeli districts have not been rectified. He further noted a substantial increase in accidents in Korba and Surguja districts, by 25.44% and 42.25% respectively. Additional advocate general Shashank Thakur, representing the state, attributed the increase in Korba and Surguja to the high volume of dumpers carrying coal in these coal-bearing areas. A division bench, comprising Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha and Justice Arvind Kumar Verma, directed the secretary, department of transport, to file a personal affidavit addressing the issues raised, particularly regarding the lack of street lights, poor road conditions, and stray animals contributing to accidents. Sharma had drawn the court's attention to the illegal practice of transporting passengers in goods vehicles. Measures For Black Spots By NHAI In Their Affidavit In response to a previous directive, the regional officer, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Raipur, filed an affidavit detailing corrective measures taken and proposed for black spots on NHs 2021, 2022, and 2023. The NHAI also secured approval to initiate the bidding process for five new foot overbridges (FoBs) on Bilaspur-Pathrapali, at an estimated cost of Rs 17.95 crore. He suggested that fly ash should be transported in capsules instead of open containers. HC directed the impleadment of NTPC, Seepat, and South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Bilaspur, as party respondents. The competent authorities of both companies have been instructed to file affidavits explaining the lack of precautions in coal and fly ash transportation. The secretary, department of transport, will also file an affidavit outlining measures taken to curb unsafe transportation practices by NTPC and SECL.
