49-hour closure on I-10 in West El Paso this weekend
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has released a list of closures that may affect your commute, including a 49-hour closure on I-10 East in West El Paso.
Saturday, May 31, through Monday, June 2, from 4 a.m. to 5 a.m. (49-hour closure)
I-10 East at Redd Exit Ramp closed.
Detour: Traffic to exit at Redd Exit (ramp 08), proceed through Redd, Thorn and Mesa intersections, continue CD Lanes and enter I-10 East after Sunland Park.
I-10 East Transmountain Entrance (ramp 07) to be closed.
I-10 East Artcraft Entrance (ramp 09) to be closed.
Crews will be working on bridge deck placement.
Monday, June 2 through Saturday, June 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (as needed)
North Desert and South Desert between Anthony and Redd alternate lane closures.
Redd East and West at North and South Desert intersections alternate lane closures.
Crews will be working on electrical and miscellaneous construction work.

I-10 West Sunland Park entrance ramp closed.
I-10 West Mesa Exit ramp will remain closed until further notice once closure is opened. Traffic will need to use the Sunland Park/Resler Exit ramp.

Crime of Week: 2 steal $10k worth of items from Northeast El Paso storage unit
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Police Department and Crime Stoppers of El Paso are asking for your help in identifying two people who stole over $10,000 worth of items from a storage unit last month in Northeast El Paso. This is this week's 'Crime of the Week,' as publicized by Crime Stoppers of El Paso. At 2 p.m. on Monday, April 14, two suspects arrived at Highway 54 Self Storage, located at 11707 Dyer St, according to Crime Stoppers. The suspects parked and waited for the gate to open. As someone was leaving, they drove into the facility, according to Crime Stoppers. According to Crime Stoppers, the suspects broke the lock of a victim's unit and stole an estimated $10,000 in painting equipment. The vehicle the suspects used is described as a white, newer Kia Sport SUV, Crime Stoppers said. In addition, Crime Stoppers said the SUV is using a spare tire on the front right side. The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male who appears to have a mustache and possible beard or goatee, Crime Stoppers said. Crime Stoppers said the second suspect is a possible female with a heavy build. She wore a black hooded jacket, a blue blouse and shorts. Blue Origin completes 12th human flight to space
EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Space technology company Blue Origin successfully completed its 12th human spaceflight and the 32nd flight for the New Shepard program on Saturday morning, May 31. The launch took place from the company's facility outside of Van Horn and took a human crew to the Karman line, the internationally recognized boundary of space. The crew included: K-12 STEM teacher Aymette Medina Jorge; radiologist turned explorer Dr. Gretchen Green; former Panamanian ambassador to the United States Jaime Alemán; businessman Jesse Williams; aerospace executive Mark Rocket; and entrepreneur Paul Jeris. Including Saturday's crew, New Shepard has now flown 64 people into space — including four who have flown twice — among them scientific researchers, educators, physicians, explorers, and entrepreneurs. 'We thank our customers for trusting us to give them the opportunity to appreciate Earth's fragility from above, an experience that truly transforms those who embark on it,' said Phil Joyce, senior vice president of New Shepard. 'We look forward to seeing what our remarkable crew will do with this experience. I am proud of our team's dedication in making these moments possible.'
