Shahrukh Khan-owned Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) has taken a big decision ahead of the upcoming season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). It has appointed veteran all-rounder and MS Dhoni's CSK teammate Dwayne Bravo as its new head coach.
Dwayne Bravo retired from professional cricket last year. After that he became the mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2025. The 41-year-old all-rounder's journey from TKR captain to head coach has been spectacular. He has experience of playing with many T20 teams around the world.
Trinbago Knight Riders have won four CPL trophies so far. The team became champions in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2020. Last year the team lost in the eliminator match. In 2023, they reached the final, but the team had to face defeat in the title match.
Since retiring, Bravo has been instrumental in developing young talent. Apart from playing the role of mentor in Kolkata Knight Riders, he is the head coach of LA Knight Riders in Major League Cricket. Bravo has had a deep relationship with the Knight Riders group. As one of the most successful all-rounders in T20 cricket history, Bravo will lead the franchise forward with his experience and deep understanding of Caribbean cricket.

He questioned where that leaves Samson, suggesting the captain would likely be pushed down to the number four spot—a role he might not want, given that he opens for India. Uthappa further explained that the wicketkeeper-batter probably saw this as a 'writing on the wall,' especially with RR's tendency to back their youngsters. He added that Samson may be trying to stay ahead of the curve by seeking a move now, aiming to open elsewhere and maintain his spot at the top of India's batting order. Uthappa said: "They have both Yashasvi, who has done really well for them, and Suryavanshi has absolutely smacked it out of the park, and Riyan Parag likes to bat at number three. Where does that leave Sanju Samson? A number four spot. Would I want to bat at number four when I am opening for India? Absolutely not. From his perspective, he probably felt that perhaps that won't change at RR, and they back their youngsters, quite a bit, don't they?" "That has been the culture there at RR. However, with Samson's current valuation at INR 18 crore, a trade deal might prove difficult. Just days after the Samson reports, speculation arose that Ravichandran Ashwin might part ways with CSK, fueling rumours of a potential trade between RR and Chennai involving the two players. Although Ashwin clarified why such a trade may not materialise—citing his contract being half Samson's value—Robin Uthappa suggested a solution. He proposed that if Chennai are serious about acquiring Samson, they could trade both Ashwin and Vijay Shankar in exchange for the India batter. "CSK for sure. If they are able to get him and if they are able to snap him up, then it'll do really well for him. I think the transition of MS Dhoni to the next wicketkeeper, they already have in Sanju, so that is already taken care of. Otherwise, they would have to look at, say, at this point, say Devon Conway as a wicketkeeping option. But if he comes onboard, there is a lot of good that can happen for CSK," he said. "What they don't have? They only have Shimron Hetmyer at six. They don't have a finisher at number six or seven. Maybe Sam Curran. Vijay Shankar could be the one who goes with Ashwin as well. That could happen. He's a pretty decent bowler, but they haven't utilised him." Chinnaswamy Stadium as a venue for the upcoming 2025 Women's ODI World Cup, set to be played from September 30 to November 2. Sources aware of the development have told IANS that the Karnataka government not granting permission for hosting games at the stadium due to serious safety concerns on any activity at the venue after the June 4 stampede has meant that its allotted matches for the Women's ODI World Cup will now be moved to Thiruvananthapuram. 'Yes, it has come to light that due to no permissions coming on time for hosting World Cup games in Bengaluru, it will now be moving to Thiruvananthapuram, which is also an ideal venue due to weather conditions and its proximity to Colombo. The ICC will be officially announcing it soon,' sources further told IANS on Tuesday. Uncertainty over future matches taking place at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium has persisted since the June 4 stampede outside its premises during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL 2025 victory celebrations. The incident led to 11 deaths and over 50 people being injured, with the investigation still ongoing. Moreover, the findings by the Justice John Michael D'Cunha Commission had said that the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is ill-equipped to host large-scale events in a safe manner. While saying that the 'design and structure' of the venue are inherently 'unsuitable and unsafe' for mass gatherings, the committee also warned that hosting high-attendance events at the stadium would pose 'unacceptable risks to public safety, urban mobility, and emergency preparedness'. Due to this, the KSCA was forced to shift Maharaja T20 Trophy games to Wadeyar Ground in Mysuru while Alur hosted the Maharani T20 competition matches. As per the original schedule, Bengaluru was the venue for the opening game of the women's ODI World Cup between India and Sri Lanka, as well as host one semi-final and possibly the final on November 2. Bengaluru was also set to host two warm-up games ahead of the showpiece event. The Greenfield International Stadium, meanwhile, hasn't hosted women's international cricket games yet. But it has hosted four men's T20Is and two ODI games so far, as well as staged Youth Tests and ODIs. It was also a venue for the 2023 Men's ODI World Cup warm-ups, but games were abandoned due to incessant rain. Visakhapatnam, Indore, Guwahati, and Colombo, Sri Lanka's capital, are the other venues for the tournament to be played in a round-robin format among eight teams – defending champions Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. LinkedIn has launched a new, casual game, Mini Sudoku, for its 1.2 billion users. The Microsoft-owned professional networking site's latest addition is a scaled-down version of the classic puzzle, designed to be completed in just two or three minutes. This is the sixth game to be introduced on the platform. The new Mini Sudoku aims to spark friendly competition among colleagues and friends, with puzzles getting progressively more difficult throughout the week. What the company said about the new Mini Sudoku game In an interview with CNBC, Lakshman Somasundaram , a senior director of product at the company said: 'We don't want to have a puzzle on LinkedIn that takes 20 minutes to solve, right? We're not games for games' sake.' LinkedIn's creation of the game stemmed from a meeting with Japanese publisher Nikoli , known for popularising Sudoku. Last year, Somasundaram and a group of LinkedIn associate product managers visited Nikoli's Tokyo headquarters, where they discussed puzzles with the publisher's employees through a translator. This meeting led to weeks of collaboration between LinkedIn, Nikoli, and Thomas Snyder , a three-time World Sudoku Championship winner who has been advising LinkedIn on its gaming strategy. The team aimed to make Sudoku more approachable, experimenting with several prototypes before deciding on a board featuring six rows and six columns. 'It's very easy to just make a Sudoku grid. It's very hard to make art in the form of Sudoku. And that's what both Nikoli and we do. I think it's got the potential to be the largest of the games, just because it's going to have a lot of brand awareness from moment one,' Snyder noted. Snyder, who is the founder and CEO of Grandmaster Puzzles, a publisher of Sudoku books, holds a PhD in chemistry and is known as Dr Sudoku. He has worked on the hint feature for LinkedIn's Mini Sudoku and created some of the puzzles. Each day's puzzle will be accompanied by a video of Snyder demonstrating his solving process. However, this is not the first game LinkedIn has introduced. The platform added games last year to bring a sense of fun and offer users fresh ways to engage with each other. According to a company spokesperson, millions of people play LinkedIn's games daily, with peak activity at 7 AM ET (4.30 PM IST) and Gen Z make up the largest share of players.
