Summer schools football championship concludes in Capital Secretariat
Sana'a - Saba: The Summer Schools Football Championship for district teams in the Capital Secretariat concluded on Wednesday at Al-Dharafi Stadium. The tournament, organized by the Youth and Sports Office of the Municipality, was part of the summer activities for the year 1446 AH. The final match was attended by Ali Hadhban, Deputy Minister of Youth for Sports Affairs, Abdullah Obaid, Director of the Youth and Sports Office in the Municipality, his deputy Zaid Jahaf, and several youth and sports leaders, along with a large crowd. The match featured a strong competition between the teams of Al-Tahrir and Bani Al-Harith districts, ending in a 1-1 draw in regular time. Al-Tahrir eventually secured the title by winning on penalties. Al-Tahrir district team was crowned champion of the tournament, which was held under the patronage of the Supreme Committee for Summer Activities and Courses, in cooperation with the Capital Municipality's Subcommittee and the Al-Shaab Social Development Foundation. The championship aimed to enhance the sports, educational, and cultural aspects of summer school students. At the end of the match, the winning teams were honored—Al-Tahrir as champions and Bani Al-Harith as runners-up. Additionally, the winners of the cultural competition were recognized, with Al-Sab'een district team taking first place, while Al-Ma'in and Al-Wahda district teams shared second place. Summer courses conclude in Aflah Al-Sham, Hajjah
Hajjah - Saba: The summer courses for the year 1446 AH concluded in Aflah Al-Sham District, Hajjah province, with a district-wide cultural competition. During the event, Adel Al-Husseini, head of the Scholars' Unit in the province, Ahmed Al-Arjali, the district director, and Mansour Al-Zaghafi, the mobilization official, commended the efforts of the educational staff in successfully organizing the summer courses. They highlighted the role of these courses in providing the youth with beneficial knowledge and divine guidance. They also emphasized the importance the wise revolutionary leadership places on the summer courses in strengthening the faith-based identity and Quranic culture among the future generation—the hope of the nation—and thwarting the schemes of the enemies of Islam. The closing ceremony, attended by educational, mobilization, and local leaders, included performances by students of the summer courses and the distribution of awards to the competition winners. Meanwhile, in Aflah Al-Yemen, the Al-Sammad Martyr School team won the district's summer courses football championship after defeating the Imam Ali School team in a penalty shootout during the final match. Summer Centers Football Championship for capital directorate teams kicks off
Sana'a - Saba: The Summer Centers Football Championship for the teams of the capital's directorates was launched today at Al-Tharafi Stadium in Sana'a. Organized by the Youth Office of the Capital Secretariat as part of the summer activities for the year 1446 AH / 2025, the tournament aims to promote sports and youth engagement. On its opening day, five matches were held between the directorate teams. The Ma'een directorate team defeated Al-Safiya 7-2, while Al-Thawra triumphed over Al-Sab'een with a 3-1 victory. Bani Al-Harath secured a 3-0 win against Azal, and Al-Tahrir overpowered Shu'ub 6-1. In a closely contested match, Old Sana'a edged out Al-Wehda on penalties. Alongside the sporting events, a cultural competition was held as part of the summer activities to enhance participants' cultural and national awareness, develop students' skills, nurture their talents, and foster a sense of national belonging.
