Samuel French Dies: ‘Killers Of The Flower Moon' & ‘Fear The Walking Dead' Actor Was 45
Samuel French, an actor who has appeared in Killers of the Flower Moon and Fear the Walking Dead, has died. He was 45.
According to French's friend and collaborator Paul Sinacore, who directed his final performance in the upcoming film Towpath, French died on May 9.

Sinacore remembered French as a 'dear friend and an incredible actor,' praising his performance as Detective Bernard Crooke in Towpath, which also stars Eric Roberts and is now in post-production.
'Together, we were on an extraordinary journey, giving everything we had to realize a shared creative vision,' said Sinacore in a statement. 'Samuel carried a fire for acting that burned in every frame — unfiltered, fearless, and alive. He gave himself completely to the work, and it showed. I am deeply saddened by his loss and only wish he could have seen the final cut. He was one of a kind, and he will remain in our hearts forever. My heart goes out to his family, and especially to his daughter — he loved her deeply and spoke of her often with pride and tenderness.'

Born January 26, 1980 in Waco, Texas, French made his onscreen debut as Gavin McDonough in the History Channel limited series Texas Rising (2015), which also stars Bill Paxton, Kris Kristofferson, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chad Michael Murray, Crispin Glover, Ray Liotta, Brendan Fraser and more.
After playing Ben in a 2020 episode of AMC's Fear the Walking Dead, French shared the screen with Robert De Niro in Martin Scorsese's Oscar-nominated historical epic Killers of the Flower Moon (2023), playing Agent CJ Robinson.
French is survived by his daughter Madison and her mother Melinda Acosta; as well as French's parents Thomas and Evelyn; and his brothers Andy and Danny.

'Northern Exposure,' 'Young Sheldon' alum Valerie Mahaffey dead at 71
May 31 (UPI) --Northern Exposure and Young Sheldon actress Valerie Mahaffey has died at the age of 71 after a battle with cancer. Mahaffey's publicist, Jillian Roscoe, confirmed the sad news to The Hollywood Reporter Friday. "I have lost the love of my life, and America has lost one of its endearing actresses. She will be missed," her husband Joseph Kell said in a statement to Mahaffey's other credits include Echo 3, Dead to Me, French Exit, Big Sky, Desperate Housewives, Glee and Devious Maids.

Renée Victor death: Coco voice actor and Weeds star dies aged 71
Renée Victor, the TV and film actress behind the voice of Abuelita in Disney's hit animated film Coco, has died at age 71. Victor died at her California home, her family confirmed. Her cause of death was lymphoma, according to Deadline. 'Renee is perhaps best known as the voice of 'Abuelita' in Disney's 2017 blockbuster Coco,' a statement from her daughters Raquel Victor and Margo Victor read, per Deadline. 'Renee was loved by so many & had fans all over the world. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.' In addition to winning hearts as Abuelita, Victor also gained acclaim for her arc as Lupita on Weeds. Victor appeared regularly in seasons one and two and returned at least once in nearly every other season. Long before she was a TV and film star, Victor toured globally with her husband as 'Ray & Renee' from 1963 to 1973. The duo earned the nickname 'the Latin Sonny & Cher.' Victor then transitioned to screen work, and landed roles in TV series including Scarecrow and Mrs. King and Matlock. She later appeared in a recurring role on ER as Florina Lopez, and lent her voice to the 1992 animated series The Addams Family. Her film credits included The Doctor with William Hurt, as well asThe Apostle and A Night in Old Mexico, with Robert Duvall. Victor most recently appeared onVida, Gentefied, All Rise, Snowpiercer, Mayans M.C., Dead to Me, A Million Little Things and With Love. Fans were saddened to hear the news and quickly shared tributes on social media. 'Such heartbreaking news. Renée Victor brought so much warmth and life to Abuelita in 'Coco,' and her presence will be dearly missed. Rest in peace,' one fan wrote on X. 'Rest in peace, Renée Victor.
