Casualty ward: Tom Hazelton set to be out for three months, Josh Addo-Carr locked in for another year at the Eels
Hazelton had surgery on Tuesday following several consultations with shoulder specialists, with the consistent prop suffering the collarbone injury when he landed awkwardly in a tackle back in round 10.
The club expects him to be out for up to 12 weeks, although that will be offset by the return of experienced stars like Sione Katoa, Toby Rudolf and Teig Wilton in the coming rounds.

Meanwhile, the Eels have activated their option for Josh Addo-Carr to remain at the club in 2026.
The flashy winger joined Parramatta this year after he was let go by the Bulldogs and has scored a team-high seven tries on the left wing despite missing the start of the season through suspension.
'Josh has been a popular addition to our club. From day one, he has embraced the Parramatta community and brought a real spark to our group,' Eels general manager of football Mark O'Neill said.
'The coaching staff have been impressed with his leadership on the field, particularly with our younger players.
'His passion and personality have had a positive effect across the organisation, and we're happy to have him with us for another season.'

Wagga Wagga RSL club members rebel over alleged ban on Lest We Forget shirts
A bizarre blow-up over Lest We Forget shirts has hit RSL Australia. Members of the Wagga Wagga RSL claim a club representative instructed them to ditch their shirts, which sport a blue military design and bear the phrase Lest We Forget, claiming the phrase was trademarked by the RSL. David Ashford, speaking with 2GB on Friday morning, said he and his bowling friends had been told they 'couldn't wear the shirts or we might have to leave'. 'If we wear our shirts, we are not allowed to bowl,' he said. He said he and his fellow club members were 'disgusted' by the alleged ban. 'We wore it last Anzac Day and nobody said anything,' he said. But it is not clear if there is a ban in place. In a statement released to 2GB and read out on air by Ben Fordham, RSL Australia said it had not placed any restrictions on the shirts. 'This is the first time RSL Australia has been made aware of this matter,' the RSL said. 'And the RSL has not placed any restrictions on its use by the Wagga Wagga RSL club.' Fordham suggested someone might be 'telling lies' at the club. 'It may well be a trademark, but they are not enforcing it,' he said. 'It sounds like someone is telling lies at the Wagga RSL Bowling Club. 'My advice to those involved, just keep on wearing the shirts.'

Souths coach Wayne Bennett hopeful Latrell Mitchell's season isn't over despite injury setback
Latrell Mitchell's rotten injury luck has continued with the South Sydney superstar ruled out of Saturday's clash against the Eels after he pinched a nerve in his back during his return game last week. The rep star hadn't played since round 17 due to a quad injury but had some classy moments against the Titans with a lovely pass to set up Alex Johnston for a try, while he also came up with a big effort play to jolt the ball free when Jayden Campbell looked certain to score. Mitchell will miss the Gadhu Gathering game at Allianz Stadium on Saturday night, but coach Wayne Bennett is hopeful his main attacking weapon will be fit to return next Thursday against the Dragons. 'He's not playing. He's pinched a nerve in his back and he's not mobile enough,' the Rabbitohs coach said. 'He did it in the game (last week). 'We're disappointed he's not playing but we think he should be back next week. 'He's disappointed because he's hardly played any football in the last three months. 'You can be sad about it, you can be anything you like about it. But the bottom line is that he's not playing and he's not fit to play.' While Mitchell won't play, Souths are set to welcome back veteran playmaker Cody Walker after his latest soft tissue injury. Walker has endured a wretched run of setbacks in 2025 but is set to come off the bench on Saturday night in a huge boost to their attack on the left edge. 'We're not going to start him, we're going to start him on the bench,' Bennett said. 'He's done all the criteria and met all the standards with the fitness he needs, so we'll get him on the field.' If Mitchell and Walker can reunite next week, then Johnston is a chance of breaking Ken Irvine's try-scoring record at Accor Stadium. The winger is just three behind Irvine's record haul of 212 and will break it this year if he has the star duo playing next to him. 'He knows his way to the try line,' Bennett said. 'That's instinctive. It's not something you can coach.'

‘Disgusting': Harry Grant blindsided by Danika Mason as controversial act comes under fire
Melbourne Storm captain Harry Grant has found himself on the end of a grilling from Channel 9's Danika Mason following a controversial moment on Thursday night. Cleary slotted a field goal with three minutes remaining in regulation time, only for it to be ruled out by referee Ashley Klein due to an illegal blocker. The field goal would have given the Panthers a 19-18 lead, but Moses Leota was penalised for running interference, stepping into Grant's path, which blocked him from putting pressure on Cleary. But after Grant scored the winning try in golden point to give the Storm the crucial win, Cleary claimed post-match that the hooker was clearly 'playing for' the game-changing penalty. Mason also suggested as much in her chat with Cleary after full-time, before doubling down that the Storm hooker had taken a dive on Friday morning. 'He was playing up to it, he's done it before, that was a dive,' Mason said on Channel 9's Today Show. All the while, Grant was waiting on the line to face up to the backlash, as host Karl Stefanovic, who knew Grant was listening, leapt to the defence of the Melbourne captain. It comes after Grant was grilled post-game about his actions after Cleary accused him of 'playing for' the contact. 'I think anyone in the game has seen that's been policed numerous times, and that's the rule within the game,' Grant said on Thursday night. 'Even the Penrith boys were aware of it in the game, and when it happened, so I'm happy if that's the rule, then we stick to it, but if we want to change it, then come out during the week and change it. 'I think anyone would agree that's been policed numerous times throughout the year. Hats off to the officials for policing it the same way because it would have been easy to change it. 'A lot of attention will go to that, but it doesn't need to. 'The attention should go to what a quality contest it was and how well they played. We were underdogs and had a fair few players out, but we turned up, so I really think that (people should focus on the result).'
