The final quarter saw no change in the scoreline, concluding with a well deserved triumph for Al Amerat, who claimed the Hockey Super Cup title.
Mohammed al Darmaki, head coach of Al Amerat, expressed his delight after winning the Super Cup. "We congratulate all members of Al Amerat Club, including the players, management, technical staff and fans. Special congratulations go to the club's Board of Directors, led by Shaikh Mohsin bin Hani al Bahrani, who was the team's biggest supporter both financially and morally, always present with the players, encouraging and motivating them to achieve this success."

GAME PLAN
He added about the match: "The players delivered a great performance and fully deserved the title. They executed the game plan with full commitment. Finals are always approached with caution, regardless of the opponent's name and that's what we are focused on in the first quarter by playing conservatively with a strong defensive setup to better read the opponent's strategy, knowing that finals always carry surprises.
"After that, the team gradually opened up, imposed its style of play, dominated possession and managed to diversify its tactics and create space, resulting in five deserved goals that reflect the hard work the players put in throughout the match."
Salih Rasim Salih, captain of Salalah, said: "We played a strong match where the players gave their all with great fighting spirit. We congratulate Al Amerat Club on this deserved victory and I also congratulate my teammates in Salalah for their commendable performance."

He added: "The match was decided by the experience of the players. We faced a team with seasoned players accustomed to playing in such finals, while we rely on a young squad made up of junior and youth players, which in itself was a big challenge that we bravely accepted.
"We have a solid base of young players that we have started to develop and prepare for the future; and we are working hard to build a team capable of competing strongly and reaching the podiums in the coming years."

Omani Coaches attend International basketball course

MUSCAT, MAY 24 Two Omani coaches, Mohammed bin Mubarak al Awaisi from Al Amerat Club and Majid bin Omar al Balushi from Salalah Club, participated in the International Coaches Course held over two days at the Umm Al Hassam Basketball Hall in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The course was led by veteran Serbian coach Saša Obradović and coach Jelena, and featured a distinguished group of coaches from across the Gulf and Arab countries. The participation of the Omani coaches was supported by the Oman Basketball Association (OBA) through a training grant provided by the Technical Development Committee. This initiative comes as part of the association's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of national coaching talent and to provide them with opportunities to explore the latest coaching concepts and methods at regional and international levels. The Technical Development Committee emphasised that this participation falls under its strategic plan to support and qualify Omani coaches through specialised programmes that strengthen their presence in the sports field. In a statement, coach Mohammed al Awaisi expressed his gratitude for this exceptional training opportunity, saying: 'The course was an enriching experience in every sense. We had the rare chance to engage with highly experienced coaches and explore advanced concepts in both offensive and defensive strategies. What stood out to me the most was the strong focus on the details of decision-making during the game and how to manage pressure in critical moments.' He added Such participation boosts the confidence of Omani coaches and provides them with modern tools that can be applied in developing our local teams. I thank the Oman Basketball Association for this initiative and hope this type of course continues, as it truly makes a difference in developing national competencies. The course included a number of theoretical and practical sessions. The first day focused on building a defensive system, the coach's role in leadership and decision-making from the bench, and concluded with an interactive discussion session on defensive philosophy and its real-life applications. The second day was dedicated to offensive aspects, covering how to deal with defensive switches and how to build both team and individual offense, followed by an open discussion on offensive schemes and tactical adjustments. The course provided participants, including the Omani coaches, with direct access to the expertise of Obradović, who has been named EuroCup Coach of the Year. They benefited from rich discussions and hands-on applications that deepened their technical and tactical understanding and enhanced their leadership abilities.
