Malaysia condemns Israeli Zionist regime's plan to take over Gaza

PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia has condemned in no uncertain terms the Israeli Zionist regime's latest decision to launch a full military takeover of Gaza.
Malaysia also calls on all nations to unequivocally reject Israel's apartheid policies.
The Foreign Ministry said this calculated and unconscionable move signals a clear intention by the regime to permanently occupy Palestinian lands, in flagrant violation of international law and flouting the principles of basic human rights and justice.
"After 22 months of relentless bombings, siege, and the forced displacement of over 90 per cent of Gaza's population, the move is intended to put an end to the two-state solution.
"If Israel is allowed to continue, its actions will put an end to the peace process and deny the rights of the Palestinian people to self-determination," the ministry said in a statement.
Malaysia also said immediate and concrete actions must be taken towards recognising the state of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
"Malaysia also calls on all nations to secure a permanent ceasefire, the full withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, immediately end all blockade of humanitarian access, and ensure unimpeded access to humanitarian aid and the full entry of the State of Palestine as a member of the United Nations," the statement read.
Earlier, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a Facebook post said the country's commitment to defending the rights of the Palestinian people remains firm, not only through strong statements on the international stage, but also by working closely with regional and global leaders.

Muhyiddin only a witness in fuel subsidy probe — MCMC

KUALA LUMPUR: The investigation into a TikTok post linking Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to the targeted RON95 fuel subsidy is solely to verify the context of the content and does not involve any accusation against him. The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) clarified this as the Pagoh member of parliament was contacted to give a statement as a witness to assist in the ongoing probe. "The focus of the investigation is to verify the context of the content in question. "It does not involve any accusation or charge against him. "To complete the investigation, MCMC will call in any relevant individuals if necessary," it said. The commission also urged the public not to speculate and to allow the investigation to proceed independently, prudently, and professionally. Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim instructed MCMC to investigate Muhyiddin's denial of allegations that he defended the rights of foreigners in the RON95 subsidy rationalisation issue. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said Anwar also ordered appropriate action to be taken on the matter. MP defended the rights of foreigners benefiting from the subsidy rationalisation.

Israel army chief vows to express military stance without fear

JERUSALEM: Israeli military chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir vowed to continue expressing the military's position 'without fear' ahead of a key security cabinet meeting. The meeting is expected to discuss war plans for Gaza amid reported disagreements between the cabinet and Zamir. 'We will continue to express our position without fear, in a pragmatic, independent, and professional manner,' Zamir said in a military statement. Israeli media reported the security cabinet would meet later in the day, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu likely seeking approval for a full Gaza takeover. Defence Minister Israel Katz earlier stated the military must execute any government decision on Gaza, following reports Zamir opposed the plan. 'We are not dealing with theory—we are dealing with matters of life and death, with the defence of the state,' Zamir emphasised. He added the military would act with 'responsibility, integrity, and determination' for Israel's security. Katz affirmed the military must respect government policies while acknowledging Zamir's right to express his stance in appropriate forums. – AFP
