John to ‘get away with murdering Nate' in Emmerdale as someone else is accused

Metro2 days ago

There's never been any doubt over whether John would worm his way out of murdering Nate and disposing of Anthony and Emmerdale confirms it – so we'll call him Jammy John from now on.
What's even jammier for the Teflon medic is that he doesn't even have to do the legwork in covering up his crimes – the Emmerdale villagers do it for him by incriminating themselves.
As the body in the lake is exhumed, Ruby Miligan (Beth Cordingly), Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Caleb (William Ash), and Chas (Lucy Pargeter) get nervous. They're all convinced it's Anthony and their minds run wild, Ruby's especially.
She's so perturbed by the discovery that she decides to confess before the police come knocking on her door.
Caleb is desperate not to lose his wife and suggests they go on the run instead. But before he can put the plan into action, Ruby sneaks out and heads down the station alone.
Caleb hurriedly calls a solicitor, but not before Ruby has given harrowing details of the abuse she suffered – and made it clear Caleb had nothing to do with Anthony's disappearance. But whether the solicitor arrives in time remains to be seen.
It soon becomes clear the body belongs to Nate, but Ruby gets far enough in her confession that she could still be in trouble for Antony's disappearance.
While John is likely quaking in his boots at this latest development, Tracy, Cain, and Moira are distraught to hear the news. Worse still, they cannot see Nate as his body is too badly decomposed. More Trending
That's likely a relief for John as that will make DNA harder to find, but what sees him getting off scot-free is that another name is immediately placed in the frame – Cain.

Cain had a huge fight with his son the day he died and is now prime suspect. He doesn't take well to the police questioning, which only makes things worse.
Added to that, he's also a little too contrite for Tracy's liking and she begins to question his innocence, even airing her thoughts to Vanessa.

And as things start to snowball, Cain is in for a nasty surprise when DC Cole shows up at his door with a development in the case. Will John sit by and watch Cain go down for his crime?

EastEnders actor 'shuts down' critics after BBC castmates are BOOED at Soap Awards - revealing what really happened at star-studded bash

EastEnders actor Colin Salmon has 'shut down' critics after some of his co-stars were apparently BOOED at the Soap Awards over the weekend. On Saturday night (May 31 2025), the stars of the UK's much-loved soaps gathered at the Hackney Empire in London to attend the annual star-studded bash. And it saw EastEnders stars Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter, who play Patrick and Yolande Trueman, won Best On-Screen Partnership on the night. Some fans have taken to social media and a forum to discuss how they had apparently heard that the pair had been booed on stage as they received their gong. So Colin, who plays George Knight in EastEnders, took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to reveal exactly what happened. Colin said: 'Just want to clarify; No one was booing Rudi and Angela at the@SoapAwards we were singing RUUUDI , RUUUDI , RUUUDI. 'Which obviously confused some people. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Some fans have taken to social media and a forum to discuss how Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter (pictured) had been booed on stage as they received their gong 'Appreciate some were concerned, as we should be, but it's all good.' '#NoDrama#WeLovePatrickandYolande @bbceastenders.' One fan wrote on Walford Web forum: 'Been hearing that Swarla fans were booing Rudolph and Angela as they went on stage. F**king sickening.' 'Can't believe Swarla fans or whatever they're called booing Angela and Rudolph and them having to do a retake on their award. Disgusting.' Another added: 'There are some tweets going about saying they were booing but now seeing mixed reports saying there was no booing.' Many fans replied to his tweet to share their thanks. One said: 'Thanks for clarifying, especially as some of us Corrie fans, who were cheering just as hard for the win, were being blamed for the non-existent booing.' 'but thank you for clarifying that down on the floor where y'all were, everyone was cheering. that's lovely to hear, congrats to you all.' Rudolph Walker and Angela Wynter, who play Patrick and Yolande Trueman, (pictured) won Best On-Screen Partnership on the night 'Thankyou for shutting the rumours down Colin xx.' 'Thank you for saying this Colin congrats on the win for Best Soap.' Rudolph Walker has played Patrick in the BBC soap since 2001. Meanwhile Angela took on the role of Yolande in 2003 and has played the character on off since then. The pair were up against some tough competition, including Coronation Street's Carla Connor and Lisa Swain (Alison King and Vicky Myers), as well as Emmerdale's Caleb and Ruby Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly) and Hollyoaks' Dillon Ray and Lucas Hay (Nathaniel Dass and Oscar Curtis). EastEnders left its rivals in the dust as the show took home eight gongs at the British Soap Awards. Meanwhile Hollyoaks received three, Emmerdale two and Coronation Street only got one. They kicked off their wins with Best Episode which went to Phil's Psychosis: The Mitchells In 1985. EastEnders also won Scene of the Year for Angie Watts' Shock Return while Navin Chowdhry won Best Villain for his role of Nish Panesar. Steve McFadden, who plays fan favourite Phil Mitchell, won the Best Dramatic Performance award while Patsy Palmer won Best Comedic Performance for her role as Bianca Jackson. Rudolph Walker & Angela Wynter (Patrick & Yolande Trueman) delivered another win for EastEnders as they won Best On-Screen Partnership. Lacey Turner, who plays Stacey Slater, won the Best Leading Performer Award and EastEnders also won the most coveted award of all: Best British Soap. Netflix viewers have days to binge 'phenomenal' drama before new episodes drop

Got any nice plans for the week? Maybe a big work project you need to finish or a hot date? Well, cancel them now because there's a new Netflix show coming and you've only got days to prepare. Yes, I know that sounds dramatic, but this isn't any old Netflix show. This is Ginny and Georgia season 3 we're talking about. If somehow, though, you've never heard of the comedy-drama, which is unlikely considering it's one of the streaming giant's most-watched shows, allow us to explain what it's about. The series follows a daughter and mother, Ginny and Georgia, as they try and settle down after years on the run. Sadly, though, Georgia's past has an unfortunate habit of catching up with her, threatening the stability of their new home. Wake up to find news on your TV shows in your inbox every morning with Metro's TV Newsletter. Sign up to our newsletter and then select your show in the link we'll send you so we can get TV news tailored to you. This all culminated in a dramatic season 2 cliffhanger, which we won't spoil here, but needless it involves a wedding, the police, and a murder. It's basically a slightly pulpier version of Little Fires Everywhere or Big Little Lies in that it's about women dealing with some pretty dark secrets. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Perhaps unexpectedly, considering it's basically a TV soap of sorts, the show has divided critics with the general consensus being it's good, not great. As such, it's only scored a rather middling 64% on Rotten Tomatoes, with its most excoriating critic being Alison Stine from Salon. 'Ginny & Georgia operates in its own universe, one where the rules of physics don't seem to apply,' Stine's review reads. 'Events happen fast and dramatically. Consequences, rarely at all. And in its second season, the show has a major tone problem.' But it does have its defenders, including Kristen Maldonado from Pop Culture Planet, who labelled the show 'fun' and 'enjoyable'. It's also worth noting that the show has a far more respectable audience score of 75% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the series has been a huge hit for Netflix. 52 million subscribers watched the first season inthe first 28 days after its release, while globally, people spent 381 million hours binge-watching the mother and daughter's misadventures. More Trending This wasn't a one-off hit either; globally, viewers spent 504.77 million hours watching the second series, which (at the time) made it one of Netflix's biggest shows ever. Since then, fans have spent years waiting to see what's next for Ginny and Georgia, so we're expecting a similar tidal wave of viewers, and you don't want to miss out on the fun, do you? So book that day off, cancel those plans, and settle in for some fun. Ginny and Georgia season three will be available to watch on Netflix from June 5, 2025. Got a story? The Wanted's Max George gives health update following second major heart surgery

The star had heart surgery initially in December and then again in February. Max George has given his fans a health update after he had his second heart surgery. Back in December, The Wanted singer was rushed into hospital when his mum noticed he had turned blue. Doctors told the 36 year old that his heart was dangerously weak, and just before Christmas he had to be fitted with a pacemaker. Max's girlfriend, EastEnders actress Maisie Smith, 23, has been supporting him during his recovery and was also by his side when he had to have a second heart operation in February. ‌ The second surgery meant that Max had to cancel a planned live show with The Wanted's new two-member lineup, which includes bandmate Siva Kaneswaran. ‌ However, Max's recovery has been going well, meaning he can get back out to work and has even hit the road on tour with Maisie. The pair toured the UK in Jeff Wayne's The War of the Worlds and Max will also be back on stage with Siva. In an update, Max explained his is now feeling "great", he told Heat magazine: "It's probably taken me until about the last two weeks to almost fully recover where I feel normal." "When I wake up in the morning, my energy's much higher now. I'm getting there. It's taken a while, but I feel really good." Bandmate Siva added: "You've come a long way. I'm very proud of you. You should have seen him in January or February, we're very lucky that he's recovered very fast... I'd let him know if he was lagging!" Max said that his theatre tour was "tiring" because he was still in recovery. "It was more stubbornness than anything because I really wanted to experience doing that show with Maisie so I was going to do it no matter what." ‌ The singer insisted he is now in a "really, really good position" regarding his health and is ready for his tour with Siva. "I'm just ready for this now and it feels so natural that, even when I'm not 100%, I still feel great doing it," he said. The Wanted was made up of Max, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Nathan Sykes and the late Tom Parker who tragically died in 2022 at the age of 33 following a cancer battle. However, Max and Siva decided to continue performing. Max and Siva formed 'The Wanted 2.0' and Max announced last year that he would be hitting the road with his bandmate to entertain fans across North America as well as the UK. Due to his health, Max had a setback as he had to undergo a second emergency surgery after his pacemaker was fitted incorrectly. He shared that he had to go to hospital again to fix the issues, and admitted that he was going through a 'pretty rough time.' Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
