Blake Lively and Taylor Swift are allegedly continuing with the silence amid the actress's ongoing legal battle with Justin Baldoni. The It Ends With Us director dropped the subpoena against the musician earlier this month.
However, it has not lessened the tension between two best friends. In conversation with US Weekly, the source close to the duo revealed that Lively and Swift will not pick up from where they left off, as there is a lot of emotional baggage between the two.
The Bad Karma singer was initially addressed in Baldoni's lawsuit and was described to be one of Lively's 'dragons.' Swift's mention in the legal battle majorly affected her friendship with Ryan Reynolds and the Another Simple Favor star, despite being the godparents to their four kids.
The source explained to the media portal, ' There's been radio silence between Taylor and Blake since the subpoena was dropped." They further added, 'They won't pick up where they left off because of all the emotional residue.'
Why was Taylor Swift being dragged into Justin Baldoni's lawsuit?
Amid the ongoing legal battle, Swift was subpoenaed in the case to take the stand in the court and testify. However, at the time of dropping the musician's name from the lawsuit, Baldoni's attorneys claimed that they retrieved all the information they required from the Willow crooner.
At the time of filing the 400 million USD case against Lively, the filmmake r's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, shared, 'The message could not have been clearer. Baldoni was not just dealing with Lively. He was also facing Lively's 'dragons,' two of the most influential and wealthy celebrities in the world who were not afraid to make things very difficult for him.'
At the time, the source close to Taylor revealed that the reason behind her deeper rift with the mother of four was that she wanted no part in the legalities.
According to the previous reports, Swift's dad gave up information to Baldoni's lawyers in order to protect his daughter. Meanwhile, it is reported that Swift is feeling extremely relieved to keep the drama behind her.
As for the joyous moments, the singer also bought all of her masters from the Big Machine records at an expensive deal.

General Hospital spoilers: Who will win custody—Michael or Willow—as Sonny confides in Jason and Ric pressures Alexis?

After the drama of the Nurses' Ball, the focus now shifts to Michael and Willow as their divorce hearing begins. While both are clear about wanting to go their separate ways, the real conflict is about their children. Michael (Rory Gibson) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) have different ideas about what's best for Wiley (Viron Weaver) and Amelia (Sequoia & Serenity Mork Macko). Willow believes she should be the sole guardian. But Michael has made it clear — he doesn't want Drew (Cameron Mathison) near his children. With that, Michael is also pushing for full custody. As the courtroom showdown unfolds, expect intense emotions, legal tensions, and the possibility of buried secrets coming to light. The outcome could change everything for both parents — and their children. Sonny opens up, Trina takes a stand Away from the legal chaos, Sonny (Maurice Benard) finds a moment to speak openly with Jason (Steve Burton). He may be reflecting on his recent discovery that Gio (Giovanni Mazza) is his grandson, or maybe he's revisiting his desire to step away from his criminal ties. Either way, Sonny seems ready for a shift — or at least, some honest conversation. Meanwhile, Trina (Tabyana Ali) stands by Josslyn (Eden McCoy), who's caught in the aftermath of securing a lab assistant internship with Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard). Trina might need to step in and defend her friend, especially if Emma (Braedyn Bruner) or others begin raising questions about how Josslyn landed the opportunity. "... this baby is coming!" #GH Ric tightens his grip on Alexis Ric (Rick Hearst) might be Willow's attorney during the divorce, but he's also keeping a close eye on Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn). Their past complicates things — especially since Alexis might be trying to pull back from a money funneling scheme involving Ric and Ava (Maura West). With suspicions rising after Laura (Genie Francis) noticed irregularities in Ace's trust fund, Alexis is likely feeling the pressure. But Ric won't take kindly to her backing off, and he could remind her of the consequences. And just to stir the pot further, Jordan (Tanisha Harper) continues digging into Professor Dalton — likely uncovering a link to Sidwell (Carlo Rota), who seems to be playing a larger role in her alliances, courtroom tension, and secrets threaten to change everything in Port Charles this week on General Hospital.

Blake Lively Withdraws Emotional Distress Claim In Legal Battle With Justin Baldoni

Hollywood actor Blake Lively is reportedly seeking to withdraw a key claim against her It Ends With Us co-star and director Justin Baldoni, amid an ongoing legal battle that has gripped the entertainment industry, the Independent reported. According to US media reports, Lively is attempting to drop her allegation that Baldoni "intentionally and negligently" caused her emotional distress during the production of the film. The move comes after Baldoni's legal team filed a request to access Lively's private medical and therapy records as part of the discovery process. Baldoni, best known for Jane the Virgin, and Lively are locked in multiple lawsuits. In January, Lively accused Baldoni of sexual harassment and alleged he orchestrated a post-production smear campaign to damage her career. Baldoni has strongly denied the allegations and filed a $400 million countersuit, alleging defamation and claiming that Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, attempted to destroy his reputation and professional standing. On Monday, lawyers for Baldoni's production company, Wayfarer Studios, filed a motion asking the court to compel Lively to sign a HIPAA release form that would allow access to her medical records. The filing stated that Lively's legal team had, instead, indicated her intention to withdraw the emotional distress claim. However, Lively continues to allege emotional distress in connection with her broader claims of sexual harassment, retaliation, and reputational harm, for which she is seeking significant compensatory damages. Last month, Baldoni's legal team withdrew a high-profile subpoena that would have required singer Taylor Swift to testify in the case. The trial is currently scheduled to begin on March 9, 2026.

Disney sacks hundreds of employees across film, television, other units; 4th and largest layoff in 10 months

Hundreds of employees at the Walt Disney Company were reportedly laid off on Monday. As per a Deadline report, the layoffs affected the employees across Disney Entertainment divisions, including marketing for film and television units. It has also impacted the staff in the television publicity, casting, development, as well as in Disney's corporate financial operations divisions. (Also Read | Jeremy Renner rejected Disney's half-salary 'insult offer' for Hawkeye S2) According to the report, this is the fourth and largest round of layoffs in the last 10 months that have affected many Disney television operations. As per Deadline sources, the "size of the cuts on the film and TV side of Disney Entertainment is comparable". However, no teams have been eliminated. The majority of the employees, as per the report, are based in Los Angeles, USA. The move is a part of an ongoing cost-cutting process at the traditional media companies. Upon his return as CEO, Disney's Bob Iger set a goal of at least USD 7.5 billion in cost reductions at the beginning of 2023, with about 7,000 jobs eliminated that same year. In March this year, nearly 200 Disney employees were laid off. Before that, a major restructuring at the Walt Disney Company happened in October, involving the shutdown of ABC Signature, with its operations folded into 20th Television and the consolidation of ABC and Hulu Originals scripted drama and comedy teams, reported Deadline. 30 Disney Entertainment Television layoffs were witnessed then. The latest cuts follow Disney's Q2 earnings in May this year, which was primarily driven by experiences and sports, with streaming too delivering strong results. The direct-to-consumer operating profit increased by $289 million to $336 million. Earlier, Bob talked about creating new jobs, mainly in Disney experiences, including theme parks.
