Wrong food delivery: Man 'feels unsafe', calls police , Singapore News
A Singaporean man made a police report after he found a Deliveroo order mistakenly left at his door last month.
According to Mothership, the man, identified as Lee, "felt unsafe" handling the unfamiliar package and contacted Deliveroo's customer service, who told him to keep or dispose of the food.
A picture of the delivery receipt indicated that the order included tomato soup noodles, vinegar black fungus and chicken wings from noodle chain Tamjai Samgor.
While the receipt had the original customer's name, it did not have the intended address for the delivery.
He said that when he requested to speak with the customer service manager, the call agent left him on hold for five minutes before hanging up.
He then called the police, who helped him dispose of the food, and also lodged a report.
When contacted by AsiaOne, the police confirmed that an officer helped Lee dispose off the delivery and added that there was no offence and no investigation regarding this incident.
Lee also filed a formal complaint with the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case), who said it only assists with negotiations and mediation regarding contractual disputes and that Lee's case was not under their preview, Mothership reported.
When Lee reached out to Deliveroo again, he was told that the order was mistakenly delivered to him due to an operational error and hygiene concerns prevented the food delivery platform from collecting back the order.
"I am not seeking compensation — only to raise awareness about how delivery mistakes are pushed onto the public, and how our current system leaves people unprotected," Mothership quoted him as saying.
A Deliveroo spokesperson told AsiaOne that the company is aware of the incident and understands the concern raised.
"In some instances, customers may request for the food to be left outside their door for convenience or safety, which is why occasional confusion can occur," the spokesperson said.
On Reddit, netizens expressed their disbelief and ridiculed Lee's actions.
"What is this guy on about? He needs a IMH appointment," one comment said.
"No wonder the police are overworked," another comment said.

The same photo was posted once last year also. The photo sparked debate among social media users with many claiming the photo was real. One user pointed out how difficult it had been to locate the image online just two weeks earlier. Skepticism about the photo is understandable, as there are several signs it may have been generated using artificial intelligence (AI). Many noted visual inconsistencies, such as deformities in the girl's hand and irregularities in the sleeve of Trump's jacket. In addition, a reverse image search led to a full-sized version of the viral image. Major Flaws In the original version of the photo, further scrutiny revealed additional unmistakable signs suggesting that the photo was artificially manipulated. Examples of these anomalies included the deformed faces of people in the background, Trump appearing to have only one leg, and Epstein seemingly dissolving into the couch. Several social media users started taking the photo seriously because they saw only half of the original image. The complete photo looks hilarious. Also, some celebrities initially took the photo seriously and reposted it, which added fuel to the fire. However, it can be concluded that the image is completely fake and was posted to spread misinformation. In February, the Justice Department released over 100 pages of his phone records and flight logs as part of a "Phase One" release, which left many online investigators disappointed due to the lack of explosive details. Epstein's association with Trump has been public knowledge for years, with footage and photos showing them together at social events in the 1990s. The initial set of DOJ documents included Trump's name in the flight records, along with mentions of some of his family members — such as his first wife Ivana and daughter Ivanka — listed among Epstein's contacts. Advisors have quietly admitted that Trump's association with Epstein will probably come up again when more documents are released — though they maintain that the files don't contain any claims of misconduct by the president.

Man taken to hospital after fight with stepfather in Yishun, furniture damaged in brawl, Singapore News
Household furniture, such as a shoe rack, were damaged after a fight broke out between stepfather and stepson at flat in Yishun earlier this week. According to Shin Min Daily News, the unit is occupied by a family of three — a married couple and a man in his 30s. The duo were known to have frequent disputes, the report said. Residents told the Chinese daily that shortly before police arrived, the fighting from inside the flat had moved into the corridor. The younger man reportedly sustained a head injury during the altercation. Both individuals were subsequently taken away before officers entered the unit for inspection. It was also observed that a shoe rack outside the flat was broken, with both the rack and shoes scattered across the ground. In response to queries from AsiaOne, the police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force confirmed that a call for assistance was made at about 10am on June 1 at Block 510A Yishun Street 51. A 35-year-old man was taken conscious to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. A 57-year-old man was assessed for minor injuries but declined to be sent to the hospital.
