Soccer fans were left baffled after President Donald Trump crashed English club Chelsea's trophy lift at the Fifa Club World Cup final on Sunday.
The president joined the London side on the field as they celebrated a 3-0 victory over France's Paris Saint-Germain at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium.
Trump accompanied FIFA president Gianni Infantino to present the tournament trophy, individual awards, and medals to the runners-up.
"I am crying man how is this a real image," one person reacted on X (formerly Twitter), sharing a photo of Trump grinning beside the team in a post that has been viewed 7 million times.

"Love him or hate him, this is legendary," another wrote. "After handing Chelsea the Club World Cup trophy, Trump was supposed to leave the podium. He didn't. Instead, he stayed up there celebrating with the players, just soaking in the win like one of the squad. You can't script this." The post has been viewed nearly 3 million times.

Group that owns Burnley in England also taking over Spanish club Espanyol

BARCELONA, Spain (AP) — English-based group Velocity Sport Limited and its American shareholders are taking over Spanish club Espanyol. The club said Monday that its current owners, Chinese group Rastar reached an agreement with VSL to join the holding company and 'participate in a strategic alliance that will position RCD Espanyol at the same level" as Premier League club Burnley, which is also part of the group. Advertisement 'With this deal, Espanyol and the English club will be part of this investment group, which expands its interests by having a club in La Liga and another in the Premier League, although each will remain independent,' Espanyol said in a statement. 'This business integration formula allows for the coexistence of two historic clubs that will operate independently, although they will be supported by the same financial group,' Espanyol said. Espanyol said the agreement is 'pending officialization and completion until all administrative procedures are formalised.' The club said Rastar 'is not disassociating itself from Espanyol, but rather its shares will become part of this new investment vehicle that will have stakes in both clubs.' Advertisement Espanyol said that with this "step forward, Rastar underlines a firm conviction that this integration into the VSL group will strengthen both the economic and sporting structure" of the club. Espanyol, which was twice relegated in the decade or so under Rastar, finished 14th in the league's standings last season. The club's fans had been showing their disappointment with Rastar owner Chen Yansheng for years. Financial details were not released by the club. ___ AP soccer:

Phillies Legend Jimmy Rollins Wins a Boat with Sick Ace at ACC

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Philadelphia Phillies' legendary shortstop Jimmy Rollins is no stranger to milestone moments. Who could forget his walk-off double against the Dodgers in Game 4 of the 2009 NLCS, or his MVP season in 2007 when he led Philadelphia to the NL East Division crown? Even so, his first hole-in-one as a golfer is sure to rank high on his list of milestone moments. It's not just the ace itself—a tremendous achievement, no questions asked—but the conditions under which he accomplished it. Rollins aced the par-3, 154-yard 12th hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course during the final round of the recently concluded American Century Championship. His luck couldn't have been greater, as this shot also earned him a boat awarded by the organizers for the first hole-in-one of the tournament on that hole. "I got my first hole-in-one and won a boat." ⛳️🚤 What a day for former @MLB star Jimmy Rollins! — PGA TOUR (@PGATOUR) July 12, 2025 The former MLB star told the Tahoe Daily Tribune that the luckiest shot of his golf career was made with his 50-degree wedge: "I got up there, off the club, it felt pretty good," Rollins said. "And as it landed, Davante [Adams, his group mate] started yelling, 'Jump in the hole!'" "I've been close a number of times, so I didn't anticipate it going in. I just figure, of course it's going to cross over the front of the hole, go tap in for a birdie. It goes in. And I look at him, he's sky high, and I don't know what to do." The boat Rollins won is none other than a MasterCraft, valued at $325,000. Not bad for a weekend of golf. This placed him 49th among the 90 celebrities who participated in the event. "You can't let that hole-in-one be the only highlight...," Rollins told the Tahoe Daily Tribune. "Don't let that be your only highlight where you do that and then you just fall off the rest of the day. I got in motion, locked in. It was in. I don't have to do anything else but worry about the next shot, and I hit the next shot right down the middle." NHL legend Joe Pavelski won the American Century Championship with a total of 73. Defending champion and NBA star Stephen Curry finished 5th, while golf legend Annika Sorenstam, one of five women in the field, finished 7th. Hysterics at How Labrador Helps With Household Chores: 'Domesticated'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A Labrador retriever pitching in with household chores has wowed Instagram users and gone viral for his quiet commitment to clean laundry. Kayleigh Brown (@kayleighelizabrown_x) shared a video of her black Labrador, Eddie Moose, helping out with laundry duties. The video has since amassed over 566,000 likes and almost 6 million views on the platform. "How our black labrador helps with the household jobs." reads the on-screen text. In the caption, Brown adds: "Eddie Moose." The short clip shows Brown collecting dry clothes from an outdoor dryer, folding them, and placing them gently on her dog's head. Eddie, cool and collected, doesn't bat an eyelid—patiently balancing the laundry as if he were a four-legged basket. A follow-up video captured Eddie staying committed to his role. He perches patiently next to Brown, still balancing the folded clothes on his head, as she calmly puts them away into a cupboard. Brown then kisses Eddie's cheek to thank him for his hard work. Drying laundry outside, as shown in the video, isn't just good for adorable content. WashTower says that outdoor drying can reduce energy bills, avoid mold and damp buildup, and keep fabrics fresher for longer. It is a practical and eco-friendly method—especially when you have a loyal helper like Eddie. As for his breed, black Labradors are known for their intelligence, trainability, and loyal nature. The Labrador Site says that they are often praised for being gentle, eager to please, and great with families—traits Eddie clearly demonstrates in full. "Can I borrow him?" one user asked. "I WORK LIKE A DOG, DAY AND NIGHT," posted another. "How much his salary per hour?" Nurul asked. "He earns his keep," said Stacey. "I'm going to show this video to my dog," another wrote. "Personal butler SIR ALFRED THE BLACK LAB," one user added. "Hope he is well paid for his services," said another viewer. "He identifies as a laundry basket," someone else commented. "The shadow of his tail wagging," another user posted. "Where do I get one of these types of labradors??" asked Laura.
