Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF), which supply ammunition to the military, are struggling to keep up with surging global demand and outdated production facilities, reported ANI. As a result, ammunition reserves have not been replenished and can sustain only 96 hours of high-intensity conflict.
Pakistan's military relies on artillery and armoured units for rapid mobilisation against the numerically superior Indian Army. However, without sufficient 155mm shells for M109 howitzers or 122mm rockets for BM-21 systems, this artillery-heavy doctrine is severely compromised.
Reports suggest that the POF have struggled to replenish the domestic stockpile following the sale of 155mm ammunition to Ukraine.
IANS reported that Pakistan's decision to meet international arms demands at the expense of the country's security was an attempt to balance "economic desperation against strategic survival."
Pakistan's economic crisis, characterised by high inflation, mounting debt, and dwindling foreign exchange reserves, has further impacted the military's operational capabilities.
The army has been forced to cut back on rations, suspend military exercises, and halt scheduled war games due to fuel shortages.

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta attacked during public meeting, accused detained
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked during a Jan Sunvai (public meeting) at her residence in Civil Lines, news agency PTI reported on Thursday. According to Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva, the chief minister was speaking with the public at her official residence when a man approached her, presented some paper and suddenly held her hand while trying to pull her towards him. "People nabbed him. Who is he, and all other details are being investigated by the police," he told news agency ANI. Sachdeva said the chief minister suffered a light blow to her head, however, she is stable. "Doctors have examined her. I have met her, she is a strong woman," he said. According to PTI, the attacker is a 35-year-old man. He was detained and taken to Civil Lines Police Station, and further inquiry into the incident is currently underway. Commenting on the attack, Delhi Congress chief Devender Yadav said, "This is very unfortunate. CM leads the entire Delhi, and I think that the more such incidents are condemned, the less it is. But this incident also exposes women's safety. If the CM of Delhi is not safe, how can a common man or common woman be safe?" Former chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Atishi said on X, "The attack on Delhi's Chief Minister Rekha Gupta is highly condemnable. In a democracy, there is a place for disagreement and protest, but there is no place for violence. Hoping that the Delhi Police will take the strictest action against the culprits. It is hoped that the Chief Minister is completely safe." According to ANI, the police identified the accused who attacked Gupta today. The accused, known as Rajesh Khimji, is a resident of Gujarat's Rajkot, who came to the Jan Sunvai with a plea to release his relative, who is imprisoned.

‘Rekha Gupta was slapped,' say Jan Sunwai attendees; ‘he said something, then…'
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was 'slapped' during the Jan Sunwai programme at her official residence, where the alleged 'attack' took place, people who attended the event told ANI. They recalled that the attacker, a man, said something to her just moments before the assault, catching everyone off guard. He was immediately taken into custody by the Delhi Police. An attendee at the Jan Sunwai programme, Shailendra Kumar, said, 'I had come from Uttam Nagar with a complaint over the sewer. When I reached the gates, chaos broke out because the CM was slapped. This is wrong.' Another person, who did not witness the attack but was present at the spot, said the person was saying something and suddenly 'slapped her'. Anjali said, 'This is wrong. Everyone has the right to Jan Sunvai. If an imposter can slap her, this is a big deal...I was person was speaking and he suddenly slapped. Police have taken him away.' Speaking with NDTV, BJP MLA Harish Khurana said the person, identified as 41-year-old Rajesh from Rajkot in Gujarat, as per the initial investigation, also pulled Rekha Gupta's hair before slapping her. Harish Khurana said, 'One person present at the meeting attacked the chief minister. Right now, doctors are examining the chief minister. We condemn the attack. It should be investigated if this attack was politically motivated.' He also said the attacker slapped Rekha Gupta and pulled her hair. According to people in the CM Office, CM Rekha Gupta was interacting with citizens and listening to their grievances when a man in his 30s suddenly surged forward, handed over a piece of paper to the CM, started talking in a raised, loud voice, and used expletives before slapping the CM.
