Chelsea Green Replaced In Queen Of The Ring On WWE SmackDown

Yahoo14 hours ago

Chelsea Green wasn't on hand for tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown, and as a result, missed out on her Queen of the Ring qualifying match.
During tonight's episode of WWE SmackDown, Green was set to take part in a match against Alexa Bliss, Charlotte Flair, and Candice LeRae. However, SmackDown GM was interrupted by Green's crew backstage. In a FaceTime with Green, she said she couldn't find an acceptable flight to the 'one-horse town' of Lexington, Kentucky.

As a result, she couldn't make it, and asked Aldis to postpone the match. Aldis was having none of it, though, and said that wouldn't be happening. Instead, it would Alba Fyre, who was available, to take her part. Green tried to protest, but Aldis was hearing none of it.
The winners of the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments will receive a respective championship match at WWE SummerSlam. To determine the finals, each brand will have two four-way matches, with superstars advancing. Semifinals for the tournament will also begin a cross-brand competition.
King and Queen of the Ring was last held last year, with its own official event also in Saudi Arabia. That show saw Gunther defeat Randy Orton in the King of the Ring tournament, while Nia Jax beat Lyra Valkyria in the Queen of the Ring final.

NBA executive: 'I'm sure the Lakers have already talked to' one center who will be a free agent

Seemingly everyone is proposing any number of trade ideas that would give the Los Angeles Lakers the type of starting-caliber center they badly need in order to seriously contend for the NBA championship next season. But there is another way the team could land such a player — through free agency. Unfortunately, signing a viable center in free agency won't be easy. If LeBron James were to opt out of his current contract and sign a new one while taking a reasonable pay cut, the Lakers could gain access to the full mid-level exception of roughly $14 million. But he's not expected to take a pay cut, and as a result, they will likely only have the much smaller $5.7 million taxpayer mid-level exception. Advertisement However, there is always a chance $5.7 million could be enough to obtain Brook Lopez, a veteran center who has spent the last seven seasons with the Milwaukee Bucks. According to Gary Woelfel, a sportswriter in Wisconsin, one NBA executive thinks the Lakers have already had contact with Lopez. Lopez is 37 years of age, but he was still productive this season. He averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 blocks a game while shooting 50.9% from the field and 37.3% from 3-point range this season. The 7-foot-1, 282-pound center once played for the Lakers during the 2017-18 season, and he spent his early childhood in the San Fernando Valley. While in Milwaukee, he won an NBA championship during the 2020-21 campaign. Advertisement While he could help the Purple and Gold as a rim protector and 3-point shooter, his age is one reason the team should think twice about adding him. Building a team for and around the 26-year-old Luka Doncic means going after young players who are athletic and can run and jump, not older players who are nearing the end of their careers. Insider: Lakers have 'long been fans' of upcoming free agent center

It is just about a certainty that the Los Angeles Lakers will be very aggressive in terms of upgrading at the center position this summer. They're expected to explore trade options, but they may also receive some help in the department from the free agent market. One soon-to-be free agent center who has been linked to them is Brook Lopez of the Milwaukee Bucks. Although he is 37 years of age, he has continued to be productive, especially in terms of his 3-point shooting, rim protection and shot-blocking. Advertisement According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, the Lakers have had a soft spot for Lopez for some time now (h/t Lakers Daily). 'The Lakers have long been fans of Lopez, sources say,' Fischer wrote. 'That doesn't guarantee they will pursue him again, but the Lakers are indeed expected to be a player in the center market this summer.' Lopez averaged 13.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game while shooting 50.9% from the field and 37.3% from 3-point range this season. While he's likely a risk due to his 17 seasons of NBA wear and tear, he could be able to provide one serviceable season as a stopgap solution for the Lakers. He played for them during the 2017-18 season, one year before LeBron James came to town. Recently, a reporter quoted an NBA executive as saying he was "sure the Lakers have already talked to" Lopez, who spent his early childhood in the San Fernando Valley. Celebrity Couples Who Sleep in Separate Beds

For a long time, sleeping in separate beds as a couple was portrayed as the norm on television, until the Brady Bunch came along. Since then, the mere concept of sleeping in separate beds has seemed like a taboo amongst couples. Many see it as a sign that there's trouble afoot in the marriage. While that can be the case for some, there's also another argument to be made about it: many couples, including celebrity couples, say sleeping in separate beds has enhanced their marriage (and sleep schedule)! LiveStrong discussed the many reasons why partners could sleep in separate rooms, such as sleeping disorders, loud snoring, sleep schedules being out of synch, and more. While the reasons are valid, many still wonder: 'Is it actually beneficial to do so?' The same outlet discussed the benefits with Kristie Overstreet, Ph.D., sexologist, psychotherapist, and creator of the Ideal Intimacy Method. 'When you have separate rooms, it also allows you to miss one another,' Overstreet said. 'When you're in separate rooms, it's more likely you will sleep uninterrupted and have time for self-care, including reading, watching TV or anything just for you without interfering with or disturbing your partner.' So it makes sense why so many celebrity couples have been repeatedly hopping on this self-care habit. From political figures like Donald Trump and Melania Trump to iconic Hollywood couples like David Beckham and Victoria Beckham, so many celebrity couples have spoken about sleeping in separate beds. While even more couples have discussed this, we're going to focus on the couples still together as of July 2024. Below, see which couples reportedly sleep in separate beds. In a June 2025 chat with EOnline, Laign briefly said the secret to their romance was this: 'The true secret: separate apartments. Communication, keeping it fresh, trust—all the good pillars.' Bette Midler revealed on July 2024 that she and her husband Martin von Haselberg have slept in separate bedrooms for 40 years, making it the secret to their happy marriage. She told Entertainment Tonight that he snores, and that 'it's been a fabulous ride.' In a previous interview with Daily Mail in 2014, Baz Luhrmann discussed how he and his wife Catherine Martin decided to sleep in separate beds. 'We worked out a long time ago that we both need space. Things would become fraught,' Luhrmann said, adding that they decided to save their marriage by sleeping in their own beds, and even have their own floors in multiple homes. Melania and Donald Trump also allegedly sleep in separate beds. The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump by Mary Jordan alleged that 'No matter which of his properties he is visiting, Trump sleeps in a separate bedroom that has been decorated to his taste — he favors darker colored walls and rugs, while Melania likes whites and light colors.' Stormy Daniels corroborated this claim on May 2024, per OK. Carson Daly revealed back in 2019, via People, that 'I got sleep-divorced in September. We cited irreconcilable sleeping.' He added that the decision was made in the same year because of his sleep apnea, his wife Siri Daly's pregnancy, and more. Back in 2016, after over 20 years together, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick reportedly created a mega-mansion of their townhome, with his and her wings. So with that, they technically have separate beds, too (and their kids have access to both sides)! Per Us Weekly, it was reportedly due to their different cleanliness standards. Per USMagazine, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham reportedly have 'his and her' wings of their mansion, meaning they also have separate beds. Danielle and Kevin Jonas reportedly started sleeping in separate beds almost immediately after their wedding, due to Kevin's snoring, per Glamour.
