Beyoncé stuns at third Atlanta concert: Jay-Z surprise, viral dances and more highlights

USA Today14-07-2025
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter turned up the heat during her third "Cowboy Carter" concert in Atlanta, surprising fans with another Jay-Z cameo, debuting red-hot new looks, hitting viral dances and letting her children steal hearts once again.
The Grammy-winning singer kicked off her July 13 show at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta around 8:29 p.m. local time. The concert marked her third of four shows at the stadium on her Cowboy Carter and the Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour. She's set to hit the stage again July 14.
Before Beyoncé took the stage, some fans in the crowd started a wave, setting the tone for the high energy that would carry through the night.
"Hello!" Beyoncé said as she opened the show. "I want to say thank you for your loyalty for so many years. If this is your first time experiencing these shows, welcome."
Jay-Z joins Beyoncé again during tour at Atlanta concert: 'Give it up for my man'
The ATL tour stop – Bey's last Southern stop – comes after Beyoncé delivered two dazzling concerts at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland, five miles east of Washington, D.C. The first show fell on the Fourth of July, with the follow-up performance taking place July 7. The holiday only underscored her messages and motifs pertaining to country music, America's complex past and its ongoing cultural reckoning.
Beyoncé first debuted her tour at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on April 28 with 39 songs on the set list. Her shows have been filled with family, fashion, different music genres, and most notably country music and cultural commentary. Sunday's show delivered all of that, plus a few standout moments of its own.
Jay-Z returns to the stage with Beyoncé at third Atlanta show
Beyoncé shocked the lively crowd when she welcomed husband Jay-Z to the stage as they sang their 2003 song, "Crazy in Love." He followed it up with his 2003 anthem, 'Public Service Announcement.'
The surprise appearance marked the second time Jay-Z has joined Beyoncé on her "Cowboy Carter" tour – after first making a surprise cameo in Paris on June 22 – and his first time doing so in the U.S. The couple even shared a kiss on stage. And with Jay-Z's surprise appearance came the return of two fan-favorite tracks from Beyoncé's 2013 self-titled album: "Partition" and "Drunk in Love."
Beyoncé debut debuts new looks during night 3 in Atlanta
During her performance of "Alliigator Tears," Beyoncé debuted a brand new look: a red bedazzled mini dress, matching thigh-high, sparkly boots and a sparkling red cowboy hat. And the new cowboy couture looks didn't stop there.
Beyoncé also unveiled another striking ensemble during "Desert Eagle," a fresh addition to her ever-evolving cowboy couture wardrobe. The outfit featured a red furry coat layered over a bedazzled bodysuit, paired with thigh-high boots and a matching red cowboy hat.
And fans were thoroughly impressed by all the wardrobe changes online, with one fan saying the "new red alligator tears look chews."
Beyoncé's 8-year-old daughter Rumi tells the crowd 'I love you'
Beyoncé and Jay-Z's 8-year-old daughter, Rumi Carter, has been a highlight of the tour. She first stole the hearts of fans with her vibrant stage presence, excitedly waving at the crowd as Beyoncé performed "Protector." Since then, fans have eagerly waited to see her take the stage each night.
During Sunday's show, Rumi made sure to return the love, mouthing "I love you" to fans in the crowd.
Beyoncé joins in on the viral 'Whim Whamiee' dance
Another fun moment for fans came when Beyoncé hit the viral "innit" dance on Sunday, taking after her two daughters who took the dance moves to the stage at an earlier Atlanta show.
Rumi and Blue Ivy each nailed a viral dance popularized by the song "Whim Whamiee" by Atlanta artists Pluto and YKNIECE during the first Atlanta show. The dance, which syncs with the lyrics "I'm talking about in it," features signature arm movements that had the crowd cheering.
"I love you so much, Atlanta!" she told the crowd as she closed out the show.
The nine-city tour will span the U.S. and Europe, with the grand finale taking place in Las Vegas on July 26.

What do the cheapest tickets cost to see The Weeknd in Montreal?

Vivid Seats is the New York Post's official ticketing partner. We may receive revenue from this partnership for sharing this content and/or when you make a purchase. Featured pricing is subject to change. The Weeknd has weeknight plans. On Thursday, July 24 and Friday, July 25, the four-time Grammy winner will headline at Montreal's Parc Jean Drapeau. These shows are part of the 35-year-old singer's ongoing 'After Hours 'Til Dawn Tour' in support of his 2025 album 'Hurry Up Tomorrow' with special guests Playboi Carti and Mike Dean that has crisscrossed all over North America these past few months. If you'd like to hear 'Blinding Lights,' 'Can't Feel My Face,' 'The Hills,' 'Starboy' and so many more of The Weeknd's timeless hits live in his first Montreal show since he headlined the Osheaga Festival back in 2017, last-minute tickets are available for both shows. At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on seats for either concert was $127 USD including fees on Vivid Seats. Not bad considering how elaborate The Weeknd's live shows are. 'In a marathon 40-tune show, the 35-year-old brought nothing less than an A-game to the arena-spanning set, The Vancouver Sun wrote in a review of a recent concert. 'From its veritable [British Columbia] forest of flames, criss-crossing lasers, giant golden showpiece statue similar to the one seen in Fritz Lang's dystopian science fiction classic 'Metropolis,' the design was all drama and flash.' Can't make it to Montreal? Four 'After Hours 'Til Dawn' concerts are scheduled to take place in The Weeknd's home Toronto Rogers Centre on July 27-28 and Aug. 7-8. That's particularly true for the earworm 'Sāo Paulo,' which will likely become a party playlist staple for years to come. We're already shimmying just thinking about it. 'Ted Lasso' Season 4 first look revealed as filming begins in Kansas City

Ready to "believe" again? Apple TV+ has released a first look photo from the upcoming fourth season of "Ted Lasso," which has officially started production in Kansas City. Filming is also set to take place in London, the streamer said. The photo shows Jason Sudeikis' titular soccer coach seated at a restaurant alongside his old colleagues Leslie Higgins (Jeremy Swift), Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and Keeley Jones (Juno Temple). Brett Goldstein's Roy Kent and Brendan Hunt's Coach Beard aren't pictured in the image, but both characters are also returning for the new episodes, Apple has confirmed. Goldstein and Hunt are also producers on the new season. Several supporting characters from the first three seasons of "Lasso," including Nick Mohammed's Nate and Phil Dunster's Jamie Tartt, have not been announced as part of the Season 4 cast. The glimpse at Season 4 comes more than two years after the Emmy-winning soccer comedy aired what appeared to be its final episode in May 2023. The show's first three seasons followed college football coach Ted as he is recruited from Kansas to coach a British soccer team, AFC Richmond. By the end of Season 3, Ted said goodbye to the team and moved back home to the U.S. to be with his son, Henry (Gus Turner). Sudeikis and his fellow "Lasso" producers had said in interviews that a three-season arc was planned from the start of the series. But despite the finality of the Season 3 finale, which also tied up many stories for the supporting characters, Apple never explicitly confirmed that it was the end of "Lasso." After years of fan and media speculation that the show could continue in some form, a fourth season was officially announced in March of this year. 'Ted Lasso' fans can believe it: The show is back for a Season 4, with Ted coaching women In Season 4, "Ted returns to Richmond, taking on his biggest challenge yet: coaching a second division women's football team," Apple's plot synopsis says, using the British word for soccer. "Throughout the course of the season, Ted and the team learn to leap before they look, taking chances they never thought they would." Sudeikis teased in a March statement that "as we all continue to live in a world where so many factors have conditioned us to 'look before we leap," in Season 4 "the folks at AFC Richmond learn to LEAP BEFORE THEY LOOK, discovering that wherever they land, it's exactly where they're meant to be." Speaking to USA TODAY in April, Goldstein said he "cried and we had such an emotional goodbye" at the end of Season 3 of "Lasso," but "I do think a part of me thought this wasn't the end." Brett Goldstein on 'wonderful' 'Ted Lasso' revival and his first HBO stand-up special "I just felt like it's such a lovely world," he added. "It sort of felt like surely there'll be a way to do more." Newcomers to the cast in Season 4 include Tanya Reynolds, Jude Mack, Faye Marsey, Rex Hayes, Aisling Sharkey, and Abbie Hern. Grant Feely will take over the role of Ted's son, Henry.

Charli XCX and The 1975 drummer George Daniel are married

LONDON (AP) — Charli XCX and The 1975 drummer George Daniel have tied the knot. A representative for Daniel confirmed to The Associated Press that the pair married over the weekend. The couple were seen posing in front of London's Hackney Town Hall on Saturday. Daniel wore a suit, and Charli XCX wore a Vivienne Westwood bridal mini dress, Vogue confirmed. The 'BRAT' pop star posted a video on TikTok while wearing the same bridal minidress. It featured the text 'when george isn't crying when he sees me walking down the aisle,' and a caption, 'luckily he did.' The Grammy-winning Charli XCX, born Charlotte Emma Aitchison, is an English singer and songwriter who first made waves in 2012 for writing the synth-pop hit, 'I Love It' for the Swedish duo Icona Pop and in 2014, for her collaboration with rapper Iggy Azalea on 'Fancy.' In the years since, she's continued to innovate, working with the futuristic hyperpop collective PC Music. Most recently, she released the energetic, hedonistic, summer-defining album, 'BRAT.' Daniel is an English musician, record producer and DJ, best known as the drummer and founding member of the popular pop-rock band The 1975. Charli XCX and Daniel announced their engagement on Instagram in 2023. The pair have collaborated a number of times in the past. Daniel is a feature co-producer and co-writer on two 'BRAT' tracks. ___ AP Music Writer Maria Sherman reported from New York.
