Morganfield native coordinates event to remember passed loved ones for 13th consecutive year
MORGANFIELD, Ky. (WEHT) — For the 13th consecutive year, Morganfield native Spencer Foreman is putting on Memories in the Park.
Foreman is inviting everyone to come out to Dunbar Park with the purpose to remember and honor loved ones who have passed.
After his own father passed away 13 years ago, Foreman started the first event as a way to remember him.
With help from Union County sponsors, there's inflatables for the kids and free burgers, hot dogs, chicken, cotton candy and sodas to enjoy.
'This is to combine the communities together just for one whole day, just to remember those we lost,' Foreman says. 'It's very important to keep their memories alive of what they doing prior to us. It's very important that everybody, and everyone is welcome to this event anytime.'
Foreman says Memories in the Park will continue through 10 p.m. Saturday night.

Brick Convention coming to Evansville this weekend
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The Old National Events Plaza will be host to the Brick Convention this weekend. The Brick Convention is a LEGO fan event that features professional LEGO artists from around the world, local LEGO builders, and LEGO fans of all ages. Multiple sessions from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and 2 p.m.-5 p.m. will be available on both Saturday and Sunday for fans. Event goers will be able to see their favorite LEGO collectables and even some that are one of one. Organizers gear up for Handy Blues and Barbeque Festival
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — The WC Handy Blues and Barbecue Festival is coming up and organizers are making final preparations for the event. It starts next Wednesday through Saturday at Audubon Mill Park in Henderson. It's a celebration of the life and legacy of Henderson resident William Christopher Handy, who spent nearly a decade in the city during the late 1800s. Handy Fest PR and Marketing Chair Anita Watkins says the festival has become one of the largest free music festivals in the nation, drawing people from nearly every state. Hollywood is paying tribute to Loretta Swit after news of her death was announced Friday. According to a police report, the M*A*S*H star died of suspected natural causes at her home in New York City, her publicist, Harlan Boll, announced.
