STV to create new commercial radio station
STV said that creating a radio station is a 'natural extension' for the company and will help it create a strong, 'future-proofed' advertising business across digital and audio.
The studio will be based at STV's headquarters in Pacific Quay, Glasgow.

Bobby Hain, managing director audience: news, audio and regulatory at STV, said: 'We already have a strong connection with our audiences who know and trust our brand and radio is a natural extension for us, so we're delighted to be breaking into this market with an exciting new offering for listeners across Scotland.
'We have a clear ambition to be a top-three commercial radio station in Scotland by 2030.
'This is a move that will help us grow our audience even further and create exciting new commercial opportunities.
'Together, our broadcast channel, streaming platform and radio station will enable us to offer a powerful cross-platform and affordable advertising proposition with real regional flexibility and local targeting capabilities.'
The radio station will be headed by Graham Bryce, who was previously the chief operating officer of Bauer Media UK.
It has been announced as part of a wider strategic update from STV on Wednesday.
The radio station is part of its newly created Audience division, which incorporates the company's broadcast channel STV, streaming service STV Player and the new audio business.
The name of the station and its key presenters will be announced later this year.
Bryce said: 'I'm delighted to be leading this new venture with STV, expanding its offering into the dynamic world of audio.
'Radio listening remains robust and with Scots having a strong appetite for commercial radio I'm confident our new national station will offer something different and exciting to the market.

Scotch whisky distillery releases 12,300 bottles from rare wine casks
The limited edition single-malt, bottled at 50.7% ABV, is restricted to 12,300 bottles worldwide and will be available from Thursday August 7 via the distillery's website and select independent retailers across the UK. The release also debuts new packaging for the distillery's limited editions, with a design inspired by Raasay's volcanic landscape and fossil-marked geology. The bottle features slate-grey tones and embossed fossil textures as a nod to the island's terrain. Managing director William Dobbie said the redesign aims to give the brand 'a clearer identity' as it expands its portfolio. As with all Raasay whiskies, the spirit was distilled, matured and bottled entirely on the island. This latest release brings a distinct international influence, combining Scottish craftsmanship with Sicilian wine heritage in an uncommon cask type.

Great Wolf Resorts is hoping to build a huge waterpark on the site of a golf course along with a hotel and adventure park complex - and work is set to start in 2028. The company behind the proposed waterpark is Great Wolf Resorts which operates 20 indoor water park resorts across the US and Canada. The Great Wolf Resort request states that the 'anticipated start of construction' for the resort has been set for 2028, with an 'expected duration of approximately two years'. The company has not set an exact date for the construction or the opening of the resort - but it could be open by 2030. It stated that it was 'reviewing multiple potential locations' which it has a 'strong interest in developing'. Meanwhile, insolvency experts at Opus are believed to be handling the collapse and bosses at North Ayrshire Council are believed to be looking for another contractor to take on the £1million work. Customers also vented their fury on social media claiming the company was still taking orders just days before the shock announcement. R&R Installation Services said: " Materials due for collection this week with no notice! "At least allow people a chance to sort elsewhere if they knew this was happening! Continuing to accept orders right up until yesterday." Another, Lisa Mc, said: "Absolutely shocking taking people's money arranging fittings knowing all this was in the background!"
