Rajanna hints at conspiracy, vows return to cabinet

Tumakuru: Former cooperation minister KN Rajanna Friday hinted at a political conspiracy behind his removal from chief minister Siddaramaiah 's cabinet and expressed confidence of returning as minister before the term of the current govt ends. "I know what was said against me and what steps were taken to achieve those intentions," he said. "I will speak about those who plotted against me, but not now before the media. I will do so only after collecting confirmed information. I will not make allegations without evidence." The Madhugiri MLA, who was removed after ridiculing former AICC chief Rahul Gandhi's "vote theft" charge, said, "I will regain a minister post when the time comes. I have achieved everything I desired in life so far. I will achieve this (minister post) too in this term itself." On whether unseen hands were behind his ouster, he said, "Without unseen hands, how was this decision taken so suddenly? The chief minister himself wasn't aware that the high command was thinking on these lines. The CM told me the situation and I said fine…" On speculation about joining BJP, he was categorical: "Even without a ministerial berth, I will stay here (Congress). I will not join BJP under any circumstances." Rajanna dismissed suggestions that his outspoken nature cost him his post. "Where have I spoken ill about someone? I might have spoken the truth. Someone might have complained to the high command distorting my statements. Such things happen," he said. Stay updated with the latest local news from your city on Times of India (TOI). Thick-skinned: Mohan Yadav slams Rahul Gandhi for repeated attacks on institutions

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday renewed his attacks on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of stubbornly continuing his line of criticism in elections despite judicial censure, calling him "thick-skinned".Yadav's attack came in specific reference to the Congress leader being recently reprimanded by the Supreme Court for claiming that India ceded 2,000 sq km of its territory to China and the rejection of his claim of "vote chori" by the Election at a program on Independence Day, Yadav described Gandhi as so "thick-skinned" that "even repeated reprimands by the Supreme Court and the High Court have no effect on him". Yadav took aim at Gandhi's continued allegations against institutions, saying, "On the contrary, he repeatedly puts institutions in the dock. Despite being punished by the Supreme Court for statements like Chowkidar chor hai, he did not change his language and attitude".The chief minister added, "Don't know from where he has started talking about chori-chori".These comments come a day after Mohan Yadav accused Gandhi of being an "urban Naxal", while speaking to India Today also sought to underscore the resilience of India's democratic framework. "The world's largest democracy is strong because of the Election Commission. The Election Commission has passed every test".He implied that Gandhi's allegations, rather than fostering transparency, actually target and weaken public trust in foundational escalation follows Rahul Gandhi's ongoing "vote chori" campaign, in which he accuses the Election Commission and the BJP of electoral malpractice. Gandhi's claims have been publicly rebuked by the poll August 14, the poll panel dismissed the use of phrases like "vote chori" calling them "dirty phrases" that fuel misleading pointed out that India has upheld the principle of "one person, one vote" since 1951–52 and demanded Gandhi produce proof—specifically via a written affidavit—rather than general accusations that, in their words, "colour all the electors of India as 'chor' without any proof.- EndsMust Watch

"Rs 1 Lakh Crore Rhetoric": Rahul Gandhi Takes Jibe At PM Over Job Scheme

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday took a jibe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over announcement of Rs 1 Lakh Crore PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana, saying that he is resorting to "same old rhetoric, same rehearsed figures" and that the "youth will get not jobs, but only rhetoric from this government". "₹1 lakh crore rhetoric - Season 2! Even after 11 years, Modi ji's same old rhetoric, same rehearsed figures. Last year, a promise of 1 crore internships from ₹1 lakh crore - this year, again a ₹1 lakh crore job scheme! What's the truth? In response to my question in Parliament, the government admitted - less than 10,000 internships. The stipend so low that 90% of youth refused it. Modi ji has no new ideas left. From this government, the youth will get not jobs, but only rhetoric," Rahul Gandhi said in a post on X. He also attached a response given by the government to his question regarding the PM Internship Scheme. Addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort on Independence Day, PM Modi announced Rs one lakh crore PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana Under the scheme, newly employed youth will receive Rs 15,000. "Today, opportunities are being created for our youth in new sectors. A massive campaign is going on for skill development, self-employment, internships in big companies and hence, youth of the country. Today I have brought good news for you too, for the youth of my country. Today, on August 15th, we are launching and implementing a scheme worth Rs 1 lakh crore for the youth of my country," PM Modi said. "The Pradhan Mantri Viksit Bharat Rojgar Yojana is being implemented today on August 15th, this is very good news for you. Under this scheme, the government will give Rs. 15000 to the youth, to every son or daughter who gets a job in the private sector. Companies which generate more opportunities for providing new employment will also be given incentives. Pradhan Mantri Vikas Bharat Rojgar Yojana will create new employment opportunities for approximately 3.5 crore youth. I congratulate all the young people for this," he added.
