Texas A&M's latest injury report ahead of facing No. 2 Arkansas on Thursday

Yahoo17-04-2025

Texas A&M (21-15, 6-9 SEC) has won seven consecutive games leading into this weekend's critical road series vs. No. 2 Arkansas, as the Aggies look to win their third straight SEC series, coming off last weekend's sweep over visiting South Carolina.
Since being shut 10-0 and held hitless against Tennessee in the first game of the series, A&M's offense erupted for 26 runs in the following Saturday doubleheader, including a 17-6 win to finish the series. Against the Gamecocks, Caden Sorrell's walk-off home run in Game 1 led to a 17-0 run-rule win on Friday night, leading to Texas A&M's largest comeback in program history.

Down 12-2 in the bottom of the sixth, the Aggies chipped away, adding five runs heading into the ninth, only to load the bases with graduate DH Hayden Schott delivering a timely grand slam to bring the Aggies within one score. Texas A&M's patience at the plate continued to pay off in the final frame, as junior SS Kaeden Kent, for the second time in his career, stepped up to the plate with bases loaded with two outs, destroying an inside fastball for his second career walk-off grand slam.
The Aggies are riding high, but the Razorbacks are No. 2 for a reason, boasting an elite pitching rotation with a 3.65 ERA, a batting average of .330, and rank third nationally with 84 home runs, compared to Texas A&M's 59.
According to the newest injury report, Texas A&M enters the game as healthy as last weekend. At the same time, first baseball Gavin Kash is listed as "probable" with the potential to return to the lineup by Friday or Saturday. However, Blake Binderup, who was recently named SEC Player of the Week, has been one of the Aggies' best bats since last week, meaning Kash could be a candidate to play left field to keep Binderup at first.
For the Razorbacks, second baseman Nolan Souza, who was injured against Georgia will miss Thursday's game, while pitcher Parker Coil is also out.
Texas A&M will head to Fayetteville to face No. 2 Arkansas. Game 1 is slated for Thursday and will air on the SEC Network at 7:00 p.m. CT.

Notre Dame lands baseball star transfer Drew Berkland from Minnesota

Notre Dame lands baseball star transfer Drew Berkland from Minnesota It's been a tough offseason for Notre Dame's baseball program after missing the NCAA Tournament, but the Fighting Irish received some good news Saturday. Minnesota graduate transfer Drew Berkland has committed to Notre Dame. The 6-foot, 190-pounder played outfield and also caught during his three-year career with the Golden Gophers. This past season, Berkland batted .293 with 10 doubles, 14 home runs, a team-high 53 RBI and a slugging percentage of .546 in 52 games. Berkland was arguably the Gophers best hitter last season but now has a new home for his final season of college baseball. He should immediately slot into the Irish's starting lineup, as either of his two positions, but with the departure of star Carson Tinney, catcher might be the best path. Notre Dame beat out Duke, Indiana, Kansas State, North Carolina and USC for Berkland's commitment. New Jersey linebacker Tahj Gray offered scholarship to Notre Dame

New Jersey linebacker Tahj Gray offered scholarship to Notre Dame Notre Dame's Irish Invasion recruiting camp last weekend was quite the success, and it led to another offer for a standout performer. Class of 2028 linebacker Tahj Gray received an offer from the Fighting Irish following his strong showing against fellow prospects. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder from St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, NJ) excelled at the camp both at linebacker and defensive end. Making things even more special is his older brother, Chaz Gray, also was offered by the Irish. Chaz is a 6-foot-4, 225-pound three-star edge product in the Class of 2027. Notre Dame's excellence on the recruiting trail under Marcus Freeman and his staff have the program built for sustained success, and it's being noticed nationally.
