Two suspects arrested in Rs9.7m cash van heist
Police have arrested two suspects allegedly involved in a recent cash van robbery in the Korangi Industrial Area, recovering Rs3.47 million in stolen cash along with weapons and other stolen items. The brazen robbery took place last Thursday near Godam Chowrangi during the transfer of cash from a private bank, when armed robbers looted Rs9.7 million and fled after injuring two security guards. SSP Korangi Tariq Nawaz told a presser on Saturday that the arrested suspects have been identified as Ali Bakhsh and Parvez. Police recovered from their possession Rs3.478 million in cash, a snatched Suzuki Alto, a 9mm pistol taken from a security supervisor named Ismatullah, another 9mm pistol, a .30 bore pistol, and 12 snatched mobile phones. SSP Nawaz said that a manhunt has been ongoing for three more suspects: Deedar Ali Jagirani, Shaukat Ali, and Qari, who allegedly leaked the information regarding the cash transfer. Following the heist, a special team was formed on the directives of DIG District East. The team was led by DSP Landhi and comprised SHO PS Korangi Industrial Area, SHO PS Korangi, and SHO PS Zaman Town. Through CCTV footage analysis and other technical means, two suspects were taken into custody within 24 hours of the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the gang consists of eight to 10 members, who are involved in tracking bank cash transfers, robbing vans, and snatching vehicles. The gang reportedly has members from Karachi, rural Sindh, and Balochistan. The robbery occurred around 12.30pm on Thursday, when armed men targeted the cash van near Godam Chowrangi.

Girl falls to death from swing
A 12-year-old girl died of a head injury after falling from a swing in an amusement park. A complaint was lodged with the police by the father of the victim, Ghulam Mustafa, a resident of Doctor City, blaming negligence of the staff for the incident. The complainant stated that his 12-year-old daughter, Hamna Mustafa, had purchased a ticket and sat on the swing, but the operator started it without taking any safety measures. As soon as the ride started, his daughter lost her balance and began to stumble. He said he immediately informed the operator, who fled from the spot instead of stopping the ride, after which he informed the park's manager and contractor Qamar Zaman. He alleged that despite being informed, the manager, contractor and operator did not take appropriate action, due to which his daughter fell from the swing and suffered a severe head injury. She was immediately transported to the Allied Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The complainant alleged that by operating the swing without necessary precautions and failing to take timely action, the manager, contractor and operator had caused the death of his daughter. The Civil Lines police registered the case against the manager, contractor and swing operator under Section 322 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). The police temporarily closed the park and initiated a search for the suspects nominated by the complainant. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif sought a report about the incident from the commissioner of Faisalabad.
