Harry Potter star Emma Watson slapped with ban, fine
Emma Watson has been banned from driving in the UK for six months.
The Harry Potter actress, 35, who is currently studying at England's prestigious Oxford University, was caught driving her blue Audi at 61km/h in a 48km/h zone in Oxford in July 2024.
A lawyer for the star, who has stepped back from acting to pursue a master's degree in creative writing, fronted High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on her behalf Wednesday.

Watson, who wasn't in court for the hearing, was banned from driving after accumulating more than nine penalty points, and was ordered to pay a £1,044 ($AU2146.05) fine.
Her lawyer Mark Haslam said his client was 'in a position to pay the fine', per BBC News.
The notoriously private actress began studying at Oxford in 2023.
Her last feature film role was in Greta Gerwig's 2019 period drama, Little Women.

Watson re-entered the spotlight for the much-hyped Harry Potter reunion in 2022, which saw the core cast head back to the Warner Bros. set for the first time since they filmed the last movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, more than a decade ago.
Watson, alongside her co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint, was just 11 years old when she was cast in the fantasy franchise.

'I did find a diary entry (from the time) that was kind of like … I could see that at times I was lonely. The fame thing had really hit home in a big way,' she said at the time.
'I think I was scared,' Watson told Grint. 'I don't know if you ever felt like it got to a tipping point where you were like, 'This is kind of forever now'.'

With the exception of the occasional public appearance on red carpets and at fashion events, Watson has maintained a very low profile in recent years.
She has, however, been spotted with a couple of love interests since she started study at Oxford.
In July last year, paparazzi captured the star kissing fellow student Kieran Brown.
But earlier this month, almost a year later, Watson was spotted in an Oxford park sitting with an unidentified potential new love interest in photos shared by the Daily Mail.
Onlookers told the outlet it appeared as though the outing was a date.

Fitter and smarter perhaps for the experience. HAMMOON HEROINE (4) got to within a half-length of the potentially above-average Patissier and Hurry Miss when she ran third on debut here over 1400m. RACE 5: Benchmark 68 (1600m) TIP TOP TIMING (6) is a Clarry Conners trained gelding who fronts up today for his 76th start but he's not the first iron-horse, ageless warrior to wear these colours. Anyway, what is more important is that despite the fact he just turned eight and has been around the block, he is actually racing in great form. This is the ideal race for him. Rosehill Midway acceptor IRISH BLISS (2) has some good numbers across the board. CASH ME (1) has to be respected as a last start provincial winner. BET: TIP TOP TIMING (6) to win. RACE 6: Maiden Handicap (1200m) They don't come much better bred than RUINATION (5). This recently turned 3YO colt is by Wootton Bassett out of Ron Quinton's Coolmore Classic winner Daysee Doom. Ruination is trained at HQ by Michael Freedman who has booked Jeff Penza for the debut and was dealt a winning draw too (3). Speaking of well-bred 3YOs, shout out RIVENDELL (4), a Vinery gelding, by Ole Kirk out of Wayupinsthesky trained by Peter Snowden (of course). Nice trials, nice horse. MISS PEONY (12) is the best long shot of the day IMHO. Top debut here at $61 last month. BET: RUINATION (5) to win, MISS PEONY (12) each-way. RACE 7: Benchmark 64 (1200m) NOBLE SOLDIER (1) racked up his 50th career start on June 21 when clocking in five lengths behind Lulumon, Storm The Ramparts et al in a Rosehill Benchmark 78. He is back at home at Kembla on Saturday on more or less his preferred surface and given what he has done in the past, he is very well weighted on 60kg. PRETTY SASSY (9) is ready to go but where she goes is anyone's guess; she's accepted for 3 races in 3 venues. KING CHARLES (11) is on a hat-trick. On top of that, he is a local and was a last start t/d winner. BET: NOBLE SOLDIER (1) each-way. RACE 8: Benchmark 64 (1000m) CES SOIREES LA (6) has accepted for the Mona Lisa Prelude at Wyong on Sunday which says a lot about how she is going right now. Long story short; she is (my) best bet if she comes here and a decent place chance at odds in the small field if she goes to Wyong. If she is out, it would open the door for the flashy mare CAN'T TOUCH THIS (9) who led and won by a pretty comfortable margin in the end in that 1000m Class 1 here on August 1. For the record, she drew barrier 3 and had Jeff Penza on, it's Penza again and box 2 today. Shock detail in the death of Kelly Clarkson's ex husband revealed

The ex-husband of music powerhouse, Kelly Clarkson, passed away on August 7th following a three-year battle with melanoma cancer. On Thursday, Brandon's death certificate was released and provided more insight into the former music manager's final days. According to the death certificate, seizures were listed as 'significant conditions contributing to death but not resulting in the underlying cause.' The document also stated that no autopsy was performed, and Brandon was cremated. Brandon's cancer battle was not publicly known, although fans suspected something may have been happening with Kelly's family behind the scenes following a series of unexplained absences this year from her talk show. The Grammy-winner made an abrupt departure from The Kelly Clarkson Show several times during 2025 and did not offer a reason to her audience for the break.
