He conducted a review meeting with municipal engineering officials at his local constituency office on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he instructed the officials to monitor construction works continuously in the backdrop of the rainy season. He inquired about the current status of each project, how much work is pending, the percentage of completion, and the estimated time required for full completion.
MLA Naseer Ahmed stated that soon after the coalition government, led by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, came to power, several large-scale projects were initiated in Guntur. He said these projects would greatly benefit the people of the city and urged the engineering staff involved to carry out their responsibilities with utmost accountability.
Earlier, he distributed Rs 71 lakh financial assistance from CMRF to fifty beneficiaries. Speaking on this occasion, he said the coalition government is liberally extending financial assistance to the needy.

BRS neglected irrigation sector during their 10-year regime: Bhatti
Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Sunday said that Telangana's irrigation water needs are still being met by projects built by previous Congress govts on the Krishna and Godavari rivers. He added that the BRS did nothing for the development of the irrigation sector during their 10-year regime. "Not a single drop of irrigation water that rightfully belongs to Telangana will be given up. The state's interests are more important than politics. The previous BRS govt was responsible for allowing the Andhra Pradesh to take the Banakacherla project," he said after laying the foundation stone for the construction of 10,000-metric-tonne-capacity warehouses at Kamalapuram village in the Mudigonda mandal of the Khammam district. The warehouses are being built by the Telangana State Warehousing Corporation at a cost of ₹10 crore. He added: "It is because of chief minister A Revanth Reddy and irrigation minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy's effective presentation of arguments to the Union Jal Shakti Ministry in New Delhi that the Banakacherla project was halted." Delhi court sets aside magistrate order punishing accused for delay in furnishing bail bonds
New Delhi: A Delhi court on Friday set aside a judicial magistrate's order directing accused persons to stand in court with their hands straight in the air as punishment for wasting judicial time and failing to furnish their bail bonds in time. The court also advised the judicial officer concerned to properly read and understand the legal provisions before using his discretionary powers. "Without hearing, petitioners (accused) were asked to stand in the court till the rising of the court with their hands straight in the air. This kind of sentence is not contemplated in law," said the court. The order in question was passed by the court of Judicial Magistrate First Class Saurabh Goyal in a criminal appeal (later treated as revision) filed by two accused, Kuldeep and Rakesh, challenging their conviction under Section 228 IPC (Intentional insult or interruption to public servant sitting in judicial proceeding) and the punishment imposed by the magistrate court. Referring to Article 21 of the Constitution of India, Sessions Judge observed that the fundamental right to personal liberty can only be curtailed by a procedure established by law. "The object of law is to ensure that basic human rights are not violated. The judges are duty-bound to safeguard basic and natural rights meant for a dignified existence of individuals. Every person appearing before the court (even if involved in crime) has the inalienable right to live with dignity and is entitled to equal respect. The court also said that the concerned magistrate failed to note that new criminal laws came into effect on July 1, 2024, and that the proceedings conducted by the magistrate under the IPC were an incorrect application of law. The accused submitted before Sessions court that the punishment amounted to a gross misuse of the process of law and that they were convicted without being given an opportunity to show cause. The Sessions court noted that the complaint in question was pending before the magistrate and that on January 20, 2025, the accused were granted bail with directions to furnish personal and surety bonds. The matter was adjourned multiple times thereafter, and on May 6, 2025, they were again directed to furnish bail bonds with a warning that default would attract a cost of Rs 10,000. The court observed that the order of the concerned magistrate did not qualify the test of legality and propriety as, the court noted, non-furnishing of bail bonds by the accused persons cannot be termed as a contemptuous act by any stretch of interpretation.
