Precision CNC Machining
Our equipment features thermal‑compensated spindles, vibration‑damping structures, and closed‑loop feedback systems, enabling positional accuracy to ±0.002 mm and repeatability under ±0.001 mm. Multi‑axis mills and Swiss‑style lathes handle micro‑features, deep bores, and tight radii in a single setup, minimizing part handling and error.
Material selection spans stainless steels, titanium, Inconel, and high‑performance polymers like PEEK. Custom fixtures and vacuum chucks ensure part stability, while in‑process probing verifies dimensions during machining. This adaptive control compensates for tool wear and thermal drift in real time.
Surface quality is equally rigorous: we achieve finishes down to Ra 0.2 μm with precision grinding, polishing, and micro‑blasting. Specialized coatings—hard chrome, diamond‑like carbon, or biocompatible passivation—enhance wear resistance and performance.
Quality assurance uses industry‑leading metrology: coordinate measuring machines (CMM), non‑contact laser scanners, and optical comparators capture high‑resolution data. Every batch ships with full inspection reports, SPC charts, and material certificates. XC Machining maintains ISO 9001, AS9100, and FDA registrations to meet stringent regulatory needs.
For critical parts where precision matters most, trust XC Machining's expertise in precision CNC machining.

Some Cracker Barrel fans share distaste with remodeled restaurants: 'Thanks, I hate it'
"Listen, if I can't struggle to read the tri-fold paper menu by the light of a kerosene lamp on my wobbly table in the most uncomfy wood chair, I don't want it," a TikTok user said. Cracker Barrel is getting a facelift and some fans of the Southern-style restaurant chain aren't too happy. Out of its 660 mixed restaurant-stores, Cracker Barrel announced in March that it would be remodeling 25-30 locations and "refreshing" another 25-30 with an aim to attract younger crowds, as mentioned during the company's Q2 earnings call. Known for its mix-match, cluttered decor, the remodeled restaurants feature a cleaner look. On Aug. 8, Cracker Barrel posted a TikTok video featuring District Manager Brent Smith, welcoming followers to the remodeled restaurant in Mount Juliet, Tennessee. Smith walks through the restaurant's gift shop and dining area, showing off new lighting, decor, and tables and chairs. Instead of the lattice wall dividers, which were previously covered with Southern-style wall decor, bookcases hold a handful of items that allow for a more open feel. "We might have refreshed some things, updated a little bit, but don't you worry: We're still Cracker Barrel," Smith said with a smile at the end of the video. But public comments indicate hesitancy to embrace the new look. "Listen, if I can't struggle to read the tri-fold paper menu by the light of a kerosene lamp on my wobbly table in the most uncomfy wood chair, I don't want it," one of the top comments on the video read. Another user commented: "A swing and a miss. We eat here for a reason. I get what you tried. I don't want bright and open. I want grandma's house back." More sarcstically, one user wrote: "Ok, I see what y'all did. Nice work. Now, undo it all and put it back like it was." Viral posts on X conveyed a similar sentiment. "They ruined Cracker Barrel," stated popular meme account Midwest vs. Everybody. Despite internet reactions, chain boasts 'overwhelmingly positive' reception A Cracker Barrel statement shared with USA TODAY stated that guests and staff have been "overwhelming positive and enthuiastic" about the remodels. "As with any change, we recognize that there may be a vocal minority who feel differently," the statement said. "However, the strong performance of these locations affirms that we are moving in the right direction." Some social media users have also shared their hope for the new design. In the Cracker Barrel TikTok video, Smith shows off new soundproofing material added to remodeled restaurant ceilings to cut down on reverberation. "I like it," one TikTok user commented on the video. "I think it still looks like a country store, just updated. Love the sound buffering." In a March TikTok video, a user shared a walkthrough of a remodeled restaurant in Tennessee. He described the gift shop as brighter, less crowded and full of more "elevated" clothing. As for the dining room, he said the simpler decor provided a more "modern old-time feel." Greta Cross is a national trending reporter at USA TODAY. Story idea? Email her at gcross@

Jeffery Epstein's notorious Palm Beach property gets $60M makeover
One of the most notorious properties in Palm Beach is on the cusp of a complete transformation. A new 10,000-square-foot waterfront pad is rising on the waterfront parcel where Jeffery Epstein's 14,000-square-foot mansion once stood — a project valued at $60 million. The long-gone house of horrors, purchased by the late, convicted sex offender for $2.5 million in 1990, was reportedly a hotbed of child sex abuse for many years. Advertisement 18 On the site of one of Palm Beach's most infamous addresses, a newly built 10,000-square-foot mansion is nearing completion, replacing the waterfront estate once owned by Jeffrey Epstein. Zak Bennett for NY Post 18 The late financier, who purchased this property (pictured above) in 1990 for $2.5 million, allegedly used the 14,000-square-foot compound as a hub for abusing underage girls, aided by Ghislaine Maxwell, now serving a 20-year prison sentence for sex trafficking. SDNY During a 2005 police raid, investigators uncovered explicit photographs, sex toys, and nude paintings that shocked the affluent community. Advertisement Locals saw the property as an enduring stain on the town's image, and calls for its demolition only grew louder after Epstein's 2019 death in a Manhattan jail while facing federal sex trafficking charges. In March 2020, developer Todd Glaser purchased the 1950s-era British Colonial-style estate for $19 million through broker Lawrence Moens, who admitted he 'hoped the structure would get wiped off the map.' 18 Following Epstein's 2019 death in a Manhattan jail, locals called for the home's demolition, describing it as a blight on the community. 18 The build coincides with the sale of other Epstein holdings, including his Manhattan townhouse for $51 million, his New Mexico ranch, and two private Caribbean islands purchased in 2023 by financier Stephen Deckoff for $60 million. SDNY Advertisement 18 Developer Todd Glaser bought it in 2020 for $19 million through broker Lawrence Moens, who said he 'hoped the structure would get wiped off the map,' and quickly razed it. Funds from the sale were used to compensate Epstein's victims and address the disgraced financier's outstanding tax obligations. Eighteen months later, Massachusetts venture capitalist David Skok, a principal at Matrix Partners, bought the cleared lot for $25.8 million — during a pandemic-fueled luxury property boom in elite Palm Beach. Zak Bennett for NY Post Skok's plans, approved by local officials, envisioned a two-story home with six bedrooms, a library, courtyard, swimming pool, pavilion, and direct water access, as well as a guesthouse. Newly released photos obtained by The Post now show the project near completion — with a sleek white facade framed by fresh landscaping, and tall trees strategically planted to shield the property from public view. The redevelopment of the Palm Beach site comes amid a broader sell-off of Epstein's global real estate portfolio.
