Red Bull make Max Verstappen replacement plan as new request made to F1 bosses
Max Verstappen is one penalty point away from being handed a one-race suspension by the FIA and Red Bull have decided to apply for a superlicense for their young star Red Bull could hand a British teenager the chance of a lifetime in Formula 1 if Max Verstappen is banned for a race. Verstappen is walking a disciplinary tightrope after colliding with George Russell in Barcelona last Sunday and knows he will be suspended by the FIA if he makes another mistake. The Dutchman has accrued 11 penalty points on his licence after picking up three points for ramming into Russell in a controversial incident at the Spanish Grand Prix. He knows that if he picks up another penalty point in the next two races then he would be slapped with an automatic one-race ban. Red Bull are confident that their star driver can steer clear of more trouble at the Canadian and Austrian Grands Prix, but have a contingency plan ready anyway. As Mirror F1 have reported, that does not include former drivers such as Daniel Ricciardo or Sergio Perez. In the event that Verstappen has to sit out a race, it would likely be Liam Lawson, or Isack Hadjar who would step up from sister team Racing Bulls to fill his seat. However, there is another exciting possibility being considered inside Red Bull HQ. The team have applied to the FIA for an exception regarding a superlicense for teenage sensation Arvid Lindblad. The 17-year-old, who was born in London, has caught the eye while competing in F2, but would need special dispensation from the FIA to receive his superlicence before turning 18 in order to compete in F1. It is understood that Red Bull have contacted the FIA simply to broaden their options in the event that Verstappen falls foul of the rules in the upcoming races. But it is still an exciting prospect for Lindblad, who is highly regarded by his team. He isn't the first hotshot driver who has been tipped for greatness: last year Kimi Antonelli, who was also 17 at the time, was being tipped to compete in a practice session for Mercedes. Young drivers have to have 'demonstrated outstanding ability and maturity' behind the wheel in another FIA-approved championship, with Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff explaining the process back then. 'The president of the FIA always had the ability and discretion of letting a driver drive, if you believe that the performance was good enough,' he said. 'I think the change of regulations isn't [about] Antonelli, it is generally to make sure that drivers with the right pedigree, CVs, success and maturity are able to race in F1, rather than a birth date. I think that was the right decision.' Lindblad might be the most exciting option to replace Verstappen for one race, but it is Hadjar who was recently showered with praise by Red Bull team principal Christian Horner. "I think he's been the most outstanding of the rookies,' he said. "The expectation on him wasn't as high as he's delivered so far. He's exceeded all our expectations, he's been fast, he's been consistent. He's constantly delivered, and I think it's been a great start to his Formula 1 career. He just needs to keep that momentum running. His future, if he keeps performing as he is, is very bright."

Teenager who died in ‘hit and run' had just arrived in UK ‘for a better future'
Abdullah Yaser Abdullah Al Yazidi was walking along Staniforth Road, in the Darnall area of Sheffield, on Wednesday afternoon when he was hit by an Audi car which appeared to be driving on the wrong side of the road at three electric bikes. The car also hit one of the bikes, leaving an 18-year-old man with serious injuries, before leaving the scene. Police are continuing to question a 20-year-old man on suspicion of murder and attempted murder after he was arrested in Kent on Thursday. On Friday, South Yorkshire Police said a second man, aged 26, who had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has now been re-arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Relatives and friends of Abdullah said he was devoted to his family and would 'light up their faces with a big smile'. He arrived in the UK from Yemen two or three months ago, and had devoted himself to learning English ahead of starting at college in September. Abdullah's relative Saleh Alsirkal runs the corner shop on Staniforth Road which the teenager visited just before the crash. He said he had had a hospital appointment earlier in the afternoon and popped into the store, as he often did, before heading off to find some food. Mr Alsirkal said: 'His dad brought him over to change his life, to get a better future for his son, but this has happened and destroyed everything. 'God bless him. He's is in a better place than this place. Good has chosen him.' He said: 'I want to thank everybody for their support. Everyone has come together and this has helped the family.' Mr Alsirkal said Abdullah was a 'kind boy' who just wanted to look after his family, including his three sisters. He said he was really enjoying learning English. 'Every time he had a new word to learn he was so excited about it,' he said. 'It meant a lot to him and he learned quick. Sometimes he would stay in the shop just so he could talk to people. He tried to be friends with everyone.' He said: 'He wanted to be the main guy for the family. He was 16-years-old but he was a clever man. I would call him a man.' Abdullah's friend Oasmah Thabet said: 'What I can tell you for certain about him is that he really cared for his family. 'You can really tell the character of somebody by the support they give to their family. 'It just shows the gratitude he had, and he spread that gratitude to the people around that community. 'To the people who would come around and just say hello to him, he would light up their faces with a big smile.' Mr Thabet said: 'He was here for a few months and was starting the learn English as well. 'I'd like to think that we related in the sense that both our families migrated from Yemen to here. 'The reason our family came here was for a better life – to live the dream. 'For something to happen like this and for your dreams to be cut so short, it's a tragic loss for the family and it's a just a shock that can't be described.' He said that every family in the area was thinking 'what if it's my kid next'. 'That's something that no parent should ever feel,' he said. Detectives have said they believe a grey Audi drove towards three electric bikes, colliding with one rider, who suffered serious injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening, before hitting Abdullah. Detective Chief Inspector Benjamin Wood said: 'This is a heartbreaking case in which a completely innocent boy has lost his life. 'Our thoughts remain with Abdullah's family and our priority is securing justice for them. 'A murder investigation has been launched and we have a team of detectives working around the clock. 'I am renewing our message to not share footage of this incident which may cause further distress to Abdullah's loved ones.' Mr Wood asked for anyone with footage or information to contact officers and said he was keen to hear from the riders of two electric bikes who were in the area at the time. Two people, a man, aged 46, and a woman, aged 45, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have both been bailed pending further inquiries, police said.

'Murderer' gives chilling reason for decapitating woman found dead in suitcase
Denisa Maria Paun's decapitated body was found shoved into a suitcase by an abandoned farmhouse in Italy - the man accused of murdering her reportedly shared a reason for the killing The man accused of murdering a woman whose body was found beheaded and stuffed in a suitcase in a popular tourist region reportedly shared a chilling reason for the killing. Romanian national Denisa Maria Paun, 30, vanished from a hotel in Prato in Tuscany on May 15. Her remains were tragically found around 11am on June 4. Denisa, who worked as an escort, went missing days after she told her friend she feared for her life. Her body was later found hidden among brambles near an abandoned farmhouse in Montecatini Terme, around 20 miles west of Florence. Local security guard Vasile Frumuzache, 32, also a Romanian national, has reportedly admitted to killing the 30-year-old and cutting off her head. The married dad-of-two, who lived and worked in Rome, is facing charges of murder and suppression of a corpse. He is said to have used a knife to behead Denisa and set fire to her body - after she allegedly threatened to tell his wife if he did not pay for her services. Frumuzache told police his chilling reason for allegedly killing Denisa, saying: "She was blackmailing me, that's why I killed her. When I told her that I was a security guard and that I was married, she told me that she was able to reach my wife." He told cops the pair connected on a dating app before they met and had sex at a hotel, the same night she was savagely killed. Denisa reportedly demanded he pay more than £8,000 or she would go to his wife and expose the cheating. Frumuzache is believed to have suffocated Denisa before cutting off her head, shoving her body into a big black bag and then into a suitcase. A post-mortem is expected to confirm the exact cause of death. CCTV footage from outside the hotel showed the 32-year-old man holding a black bag at around 10.50pm. Footage then caught Frumuzache walking out of the hotel holding a white suitcase, which belonged to Denisa, and put it into his car. Italian prosecutors say the woman's remains were in that suitcase. Using GPS data from a tracker fitted to his car for insurance purposes, detectives traced his journey to the spot where the body was found. This comes after reports the 30-year-old called her mum just hours before her harrowing death and "seemed calm". Denisa said: "Hi Mum, I'm fine, see you at home on Saturday." Shortly after this call however, Denisa's phone switched off. Her mum then went to police in Rome and reported her as missing. A few days before her death, Denis reportedly told a friend: "I'm afraid I'm going to be killed."
