N. Sembilan Fast Lane to boost competitiveness, industrial development processes
State Industrialisation and Non-Muslim Affairs Committee chairman Teo Kok Seong said the Negeri Sembilan Fast Lane is a streamlined development process that accelerates all stages—from plan pre-approval to construction completion and operational approval—within a shortened timeframe.
'It involves an integrated process covering plan approvals, the Certificate of Completion and Compliance (CCC), and operating licences. Early groundwork has already begun under the Seremban City Council (MBS).
'The criteria (for the fast approval) include the industry being in a planned area with resolved land matters, construction-ready sites, complete infrastructure, and approved reports for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Traffic Impact Assessment (TIA), and Road Safety Audit (RSA),' he said.
Teo (PH–Bahau) said this during the winding-up debate on the motion of thanks for the royal address at the Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly sitting here today.
He said that the project categories include factories, workshops, warehouses, private facilities such as schools and hospitals, and petrol stations.
Meanwhile, regarding the innovative port project (Container AI Port) in Port Dickson, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said that approval to construct the jetty on the seabed was granted on March 19.
'In this regard, the approved area must be gazetted. At present, the certificate for exemption of survey fees has been approved by the State Land and Mines Office. The Port Dickson District Land Office is submitting a survey request to the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM) before the official approval letter is issued,' said the Sikamat assemblyman.
Meanwhile, Entrepreneurship, Human Resources, Climate Change, Cooperatives, and Consumer Affairs Committee chairman S. Veerapan said the state MADANI Rahmah Sales Programme has recorded sales exceeding RM35 million, benefiting more than 713,000 residents.
Veerapan (PH–Repah) said that as of April 29, 466 MADANI Rahmah Sales programmes were hosted across 36 state constituencies, offering discounts of up to 30 per cent on daily essential goods.

TAWAU: Sabah DAP Deputy Chairman Datuk Chan Foong Hin is confident it can win at least eight seats in the 17th State Election (PRN17) if given the space and opportunity. He said besides being determined to defend its six current seats, the party is also aiming to recapture Sri Tanjong and Elopura, whose representatives left to join Warisan, with an overall target of between eight and 10 seats. However, he added, this would depend on the party's strategy as seat negotiations and candidate selection have yet to be finalised. The DAP National Policy Director also confirmed he would not be contesting in PRN17, saying he wanted to focus on his duties as Kota Kinabalu Member of Parliament and as a Deputy Minister at the Federal level. Moreover, Chan said, Tawau DAP had younger, capable leaders ready to be promoted. 'DAP has always had a team of new-generation leaders. I am already considered part of the veteran generation in Sabah and I will not be holding two seats at once. We (must) be fair,' he said. 'Sometimes it's said PH will contest 25 seats, sometimes 23. I don't know myself. Heated debate over 13MP housing budget
A WAR of words broke out between Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and RSN Rayer regarding the housing budget for the Indian community under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP). Takiyuddin (PN-Kota Baru) questioned why there was none allocated for the Indian community, particularly estate workers without homes, under the plan. 'And since there is a master plan for Chinese new villages, I also want to ask why there is no master plan for the development of the Indian community, especially for the plantation workers, who we know do not have their own houses,' he said. Rayer (PH-Jelutong) stood up to interject, saying that Takiyuddin was factually wrong about the allocations for the Indian community. He then cited the Standing Orders against Takiyuddin for allegedly trying to mislead Parliament. Datuk Mohd Shahar Abdullah (BN-Paya Besar), who was standing in to chair the proceedings, reminded Rayer to respect the Standing Orders and to allow Takiyuddin to explain his remarks. Rayer then accused Takiyuddin of ignoring allocations in the 13MP, stating that funds would be provided to repair dilapidated homes for the Indian community. Takiyuddin denied Rayer's accusation, repeatedly saying: 'I never said that ... listen properly.' Takiyuddin said he had inquired about a development plan for the Indian community, particularly for estate workers without homes. Earlier, another commotion broke out when Rayer expressed dissatisfaction over the lack of action against Datuk Awang Hashim (PN-Pendang), who raised racial issues while linking them to the May 13, 1969 racial riots during the 13MP debate session last week. Awang then stood up to say that he had yet to receive the letter submitted by Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul regarding the matter. However, Johari said he would make a ruling after receiving a written explanation from Awang over the matter.

Why GRS must work with PH: Hajiji

RANAU: Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) supreme council agreed to continue cooperating with Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the coming state election because history has shown that a state government cannot do without having a strong relationship with Federal. 'We want strong ties with the Federal Government. We want stability and we hope the people will understand that we are doing the best for them. 'To bring prosperity to them,' he said, at the ground-breaking of the Paginatan new township at the Nunuk Ragang Memorial open-air hall, Tuesday. He was apparently referring to the period when the State Government was ruled by the opposition for nearly nine years which resulted in investors and tourists staying away, amenities like water and electricity not being improved and state revenue hitting all time lows. The period after 1990 also coincided with an influx of illegal immigrants from neighbouring countries. The Chief Minister and GRS Chairman said the present GRS-PH State Government's track record of bringing progress to Sabah has been proven. 'We have more than 400 initiatives under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya development agenda, and about 94 per cent of them have been implemented,' he said. He said this was contrary to the opposition's claims, which wants to pull wool over the peoples' eyes. Hajiji said the GRS-PH government approved numerous assistance programmes for the state's education development and people's prosperity, which had never been done by any other state government. 'This year alone, we have been giving monthly assistance of RM300 to nearly 100,000 hardcore poor, and this initiative will be continued if the people return the mandate to GRS-PH in the coming election,' he said. He also said the GRS-PH State Government succeeded in getting greater participation in the oil and gas sector through the historic signing of the Commercial Collaborative Agreement (CCA) with Petronas in 2021. He said that the State Government, through the Sabah Housing and Town Development Authority (SHTDA), is committed to continuing its agenda of addressing urban and rural poverty through the new township development programme. He said the long-awaited Paginatan New Township project is expected to drive the local economy in the area, in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development roadmap, which at its core, aims at prioritising the well-being of the people and improving their quality of life. The 200-acre new township, located 43km from here, will be developed in five phases, involving the construction of various important amenities, including government offices, shops, low-cost housing, multi-purpose hall, library, health centre, market, police and fire stations. Once completed, the people in Paginatan would no longer have to go to Ranau or Telupid to deal with government departments, he said. Hajiji also assured that issues affecting the people in Paginatan constituency that were raised by Assemblyman Datuk Abidin Madingkir would be addressed. Abidin, who is Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, thanked Hajiji for giving the green light for the new township project and urged the people to continue their support for the GRS government in the coming election.
