Big news for Tesco shoppers as F&F drops next 25% off sale with 'huge' update

Daily Mirror2 days ago

Tesco has announced exciting news for F&F shoppers this week...
Tesco fans, get excited– the summer 25% off F&F clothing sale has just landed in stores and it's a great chance to bag some serious bargains. Whether you're freshening up your summer wardrobe or after a couple of smart pieces for work, it's definitely time to plan that trolley dash.
Taking place now until Sunday 15th, you still have plenty of time to make the most of the big savings. The discount covers all F&F adult fashion. The only things not included are shoes, accessories and slippers. Everything else? Fair game for anyone with a Tesco Clubcard. We're talking dresses, jeans, loungewear, activewear and loads more. Just a heads-up, though, with deals this good, sizes do go quickly. So if there's something you've had your eye on, don't leave it too late!
Also, in huge news for the supermarket, for the very first time, you can shop the 25% off sale online as well as in-store. Up until last month, F&F clothing has only been available in select Tesco stores. And for the spring F&F sale that took place the other month, Clubcard users had to go in-store to pick up their favourite items at a discount.
Now, you can shop a broad range of F&F clothing online AND get the sale event savings.
So, what's a fashion editor shopping from the new-in F&F section?
Though stock is dwindling fast, there's still plenty of gems to be found in the sale. We love F&F's Short Sleeve Contrast Detail Cardigan in Cream, now £14 (down from £22.50), which has a very Chanel-like look to it thanks to the cream colour and the black contrast trim. It's also ideal for this in-between weather we're seeing, and makes a great workwear choice.
If cosiness is on your agenda, why not make your home relax-wear look a little more chic? The Cotton Rich Leopard Print Wide Leg Joggers, now £10 (down from £19.50), look like something you could wear out without raised eyebrows. They're comfy, casual and in a trending leopard print design.
Another piece ideal for both warm days and colder mornings is the Pure Cotton Crochet Tie Front Cardigan in Cream, now £16 (was £25). Made from pure cotton, this long-sleeved cardigan is designed with a pretty tie front and intricate crochet pattern. Featuring a scalloped hem, it can be layered over a simple vest or your bikini top, if you're somewhere tropical.
And speaking of tropical, the Striped Long Sleeve Beach Shirt in Navy, now £10 (was £16), is our ultimate pick for a holiday. It's perfect for wearing over a swimsuit to the beach, or wearing alone paired with some chic linen trousers for a dinner. All you're missing is some statement gold seashell earrings to make this a full look.
Elsewhere in supermarket news, Mamma Mia! movie fans may want to take a trip to Sainsbury's, where the new summer collection blends Grecian tones with floaty silhouettes. With star pieces from £5, like the Blue Textured Plunge Swimsuit, £16, and Floral Linen Look Co-ord Shorts, £18, it's the perfect collection to help you prepare for a summer holiday.

‘Great flavour, delicate tang': the best supermarket sourdough, tasted and rated by Thomasina Miers

I make sourdough every week at home, so I feel that I'm a good judge of the flavour and texture of this style of baking. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of a handful of these loaves, which had good texture, good flavour and a nice crumb. It was, however, interesting to discover that none had to declare the salt content in their loaves, because this has a surprisingly large impact on overall flavour. None of the packaging for any of these breads, save for Wildfarmed, talked about pesticides and herbicide sprays, which is one of the things I ask about whenever I do buy bread these days – surely part of the point of spending more money is to know that the loaves are made from flour without that toxic load to it? It was great to see the supermarkets becoming more engaged in making better bread, too, and that Jason's and Wildfarmed have made it on to so many high-street shelves. £2 for 450g at Ocado (44p/100g)£2 for 450g at Tesco (44p/100g)★★★★★ This delicious loaf looked the part and seemed to have real provenance behind it. It had a great taste that translated into a wonderful crumb for our fish fingers the following week. £4 for 600g at Waitrose (67p/100g)★★★★★ By far the best-looking of the bunch. A great flavour, a delicate tang and a crumb that stayed fresh for several days, and made great breadcrumbs and bruschetta after that. Very good quality for the price. £2.35 for 400g at Waitrose (59p/100g)★★★★☆ This bloomer had a nice, tangy sourdough flavour and a great shape, but with quite a dense crumb. A pretty good flavour overall, and it lasted well over three or four days. £2 for 360g in store at Co-op (56p/100g)★★★★☆ A lovely looking loaf, which is apparently made from a 12-year-old starter. The flavour was OK and the texture good, with nice holes and air in the crumb. £2.65 for 400g in store at M&S (66p/100g)★★★☆☆ This San Fran-style loaf had a nice open crumb and not a bad flavour compared with most of the supermarket ones. The light tang was present but faint (apparently it's made with a 30-year-old starter). Sign up to The Filter Get the best shopping advice from the Filter team straight to your inbox. Not masses of flavour, either. £1.89 for 400g in store at Aldi (47p/100g)★★★☆☆ This loaf had an impressive open texture and crumb, and was very nice looking. There were no ingredients listed on the back, but it definitely tasted like it wasn't a straight white loaf. Could have done with a little more salt, though. £1.99 for 600g in store at Lidl (33p/100g)★★☆☆☆ A very uniform-looking loaf with a pretty solid texture. I really didn't love the flavour, though. £2.10 for 400g at Tesco (53p/100g)★★☆☆☆ This loaf is described as 'tangy' and 'golden', but in practice, it was pretty solid with a dense crumb, had very little flavour and some kind of glossy egg wash that felt very unlike a typical sourdough. £2.10 for 400g at Morrisons (53p/100g)★☆☆☆☆ I didn't love the look of this loaf and its shape, nor was I hugely impressed by its flavour. Overall, I didn't love it.

Abbey Clancy and husband Peter Crouch 'sobbing' over relationship

Model Abbey Clancy opens up about her 'fifth' baby, getting emotional about her marriage to ex-footie star Peter - and why their hilarious and candid podcast is like 'therapy' There's nothing Abbey Clancy enjoys more than entertaining the nation with her often hilarious – and intimate – insights into her marriage to retired footballer Peter Crouch. The couple have been married for 14 years this month and together for almost 20, and their refreshing mix of brutal honesty and genuine affection on their The Therapy Crouch podcast has turned them into one of the nation's most-loved celebrity couples. Off air, Abbey, 39, tells OK! they're no different – and she loves their chaotic life with their children Sophia, 14, Liberty, 10, Johnny, seven, and Jack, six. In this exclusive chat with OK! to celebrate her latest fashion collaboration, the 2013 Strictly champ reveals what brought her and Peter, 44, to tears recently, and who she thinks will win the battle over another baby… ‌ ‌ Hi Abbey! Your podcast forces you to put yourselves out there... any regrets? No! I'm so grateful for it – it gives us a chance to sit down and reminisce, talk about our life and the things we've been through, and have a laugh at the same time. What is it about you and Peter that keeps people tuning in – and loving you? It's authentic. None of our friends listen to the podcast because they say they get enough of us anyway, because that's totally who we are! I'm actually glad about that though, it means we can talk about them all on the podcast and they'll never know! When we decided to do it we said it has to be unfiltered and real, and if you look at anything in life, the things that are authentic are the things that last, and work. It's like therapy for us because it's a great way to connect and talk about life, experiences and memories. That's a lovely bonus! Yes. We just did something on '16 questions to make you fall in love all over again' and Pete and I were both sobbing, because it was just lovely. Life is stressful enough and so many people are going through awful things, so if we can make them laugh for 45 minutes, that's great. ‌ Does it bother you that so much is written about you from the podcast? Well, it's very inconsistent, isn't it? One minute we're living separate lives and the next we're having a fifth baby! I don't read the stories though, I only learn about them when I get a call from a relative asking, 'Are you and Pete splitting up?' or 'Are you having another baby?' ‌ You've done a festival edit for F&F – we didn't know you were a festival lover... Oh, I love a festival! We both do. Our friends John and Caroline [Giddings] organise the Isle of Wight Festival and we have a fantastic time. And of course, I also want to look great, hence the edit. You look amazing in the pieces… Ah, thank you. It was about choosing pieces that anyone could wear, and look and feel great in. I personally hate being cold, so there are some good layering items. I wanted it to be quite ageless, too. When I got a big box delivered, my mum and Sophia were after all the pieces! As a model, are you aware of messages about body confidence in your house? ‌ Yes, I'm very positive around the kids. They're told every day that they're healthy, strong, kind and beautiful. Sophia is literally like a supermodel now – she's taller than me and her skin is just golden. I've got a healthy attitude to getting older. I'm grateful for each day on this planet – I try to eat well and look after myself. What would you say if Sophia wanted to follow in your modelling footsteps? ‌ Well, I've only had a positive experience so if she wanted to do it, that would be fine. But she's very sporty – she's really determined with her tennis, so who knows. It's your kids' birthday season at the moment. Is life particularly busy? Yes! It was Liberty's birthday the other day, and Jack's just turned six. Liberty wants to be a popstar, so she got an electric ukelele, an amplifier and a microphone. ‌ What's best about parenting now? We're not walking round with two prams and two nappy bags! I love them when they're babies but with my sister and brothers and their partners and kids, we've got a proper ready-made little gang now. Maybe you don't need a 'fifth baby'? ‌ I'd have 10 kids if I could, but Pete is like, 'absolutely not'. I think he said he'll leave me if I bring another living thing into the house. All the kids are in school now, so I could easily have a newborn, but my husband says 'no way'. Who will get the final word on that? I normally get my way but I don't think I will on this. I've actually just got a lovely new baby who's 18 hands – Enzo, my horse. He's five minutes from the house but I'd like him to live in my garden and sleep in my bed, but that's not possible either! Have you got a busy summer planned? Summer for me is just about spending time with the kids because during term-time we're so busy. So on every holiday, whether it's half term or in summer, we want to make the kids happy. Do you and Peter get to have much time to yourselves? We make time. So, we'll get the kids down and watch a movie together, or go out for dinner or on a night away somewhere. But of course, we go away and then complain the whole time that we're missing them!

Tesco's £25 kitten heels 'give £150 designer rivals a run for their money'

The retailer's F&F clothing brand is selling a pair of pointed toe kitten heel mules that 'look just like a pair from more expensive names but at a fraction of the cost' This year has already seen a resurgence of classic shoe trends, with everything from ballet flats to slingback heels making a stylish comeback. Many of these revived styles are reminiscent of the 1990s, offering easy-to-style options for fashion enthusiasts. One such trend is the pointed kitten heel, which has been embraced by celebrities and lauded by fashion magazines this spring. High-end brands such as Steve Madden and Coach offer these timeless designs, with prices ranging from £150 to a whopping £800. ‌ For those seeking a reliable mid-range option, Mango's pointed leather toe sandals are priced at £89. However, for those who love a good bargain, this classic design can be found for less than £30, reports the Liverpool Echo. ‌ Since its return to the online sphere, Tesco's fashion brand F&F has been impressing shoppers with its extensive summer clothing range. But it's not just about clothes - their shoe selection is equally impressive, featuring everything from strappy sandals to Mary Janes. Among the offerings are the Sacha pointed toe kitten heel mules in black. This style might be versatile enough for nights out, casual weekends, or paired with jeans for a chic look. These elegant black shoes look like an ideal blend of kitten heel and mule (another fashionable shoe style). Fans say their low heel makes them a fantastic everyday shoe, while the characteristic open back of the mule design ensures they're easy to slip on and off. Priced at just £25, these shoes even bear a resemblance to similar styles from more expensive brands. Designer reseller Vestiaire Collective recently sold a near-identical pair of discontinued Massimo Dutti black leather heels for £149.97. However, one significant distinction with the Tesco shoes is that they are crafted from synthetic linings rather than genuine leather, which could impact their durability. But for those keen to embrace the chic style dominating fashion circles this summer, these are an excellent starting point.
