1.618 Million Jordanian Dinars in Unified Ticket Sales Last Month - Jordan News
The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced a significant increase in unified ticket sales during April 2025, with a 91% rise compared to the same month in 2024. The number of tickets sold in April 2025 reached approximately 22,331, while in April 2024, it was around 11,684 tickets. اضافة اعلان The ministry revealed that the total sales value of the unified ticket for April 2025 amounted to around 1.618 million Jordanian Dinars, compared to 849,000 Jordanian Dinars in April 2024, reflecting positive growth in visitor interest in the Kingdom's tourist and archaeological sites. The ministry also mentioned that Italian tourists led the unified ticket sales in April 2025, with 3,586 tickets sold, followed by France with 2,858 tickets, the UK with 1,999 tickets, the United States with 1,466 tickets, and Spain with 1,037 tickets. This reflects the diversity of the targeted tourist markets and the success of promotional efforts in reaching a wide range of international visitors. The ministry added, "This increase in unified ticket sales is attributed to the resumption of several airline routes that had been temporarily halted due to the surrounding regional events, which positively affected the flow of international visitors to the Kingdom's sites. This increase is a significant indicator of the tourism sector's recovery from the impact of these regional circumstances that previously affected the pace of tourist arrivals to the Kingdom." The unified ticket system, launched by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities at the end of 2015, aims to improve the performance of the tourism sector and enhance the visitor experience by encouraging them to visit a greater number of tourist and archaeological sites, thereby contributing to extending their stay in the Kingdom and increasing tourism revenues. The unified ticket, priced at 100 USD with a validity period of three months, is one of the key tools for tourism promotion. It is marketed electronically through an advanced sales system available on a specialized website, where the ticket can be easily purchased using electronic tickets via smartphone applications. It is worth noting that the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is the first Arab country to implement the unified ticket system, which grants its holder access to 38 tourist and archaeological sites, including Petra. It also provides comprehensive information on visiting hours and locations. Additionally, the ticket holder is exempt from visa entry fees, provided they stay in the Kingdom for at least three consecutive nights.

Jordanian Expats' Remittances Drive Increased Demand for Dinar Ahead of Eid - Jordan News
Jordanian Expats' Remittances Drive Increased Demand for Dinar Ahead of Eid Firas Sultan, the representative of the financial and banking sector at the Jordan Chamber of Commerce, confirmed a noticeable surge in demand for the Jordanian dinar at local exchange companies ahead of Eid al-Adha and the summer season. اضافة اعلان Sultan attributed this uptick to a significant increase in remittances from Jordanian expatriates, which typically double during festive periods to support their families during the holiday. This results in a higher conversion of foreign currencies into dinars. He emphasized that these remittances are a key source of foreign currency for the local market and directly contribute to strengthening monetary reserves, while also boosting the purchasing power of Jordanian households—especially as they prepare for Eid. According to data from the Central Bank of Jordan, remittances from Jordanians abroad rose by 3% in the first quarter of this year, reaching $889 million. Sultan also noted that the return of thousands of Jordanian expats to spend the Eid holiday in the Kingdom, along with increased tourism activity, further drives demand for the dinar. He stressed the importance of this financial activity in supporting the national economic cycle. He praised the Central Bank's prudent monetary policy and its role in maintaining confidence in the local currency, highlighting ongoing communication between the Chamber and the Bank to address challenges faced by the sector. —(Petra)
