General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son of Uganda's President Museveni, shared a video on X showing activist Edward Ssebuufu's torture. Kainerugaba is likely Museveni's successor.
The son of Uganda President Yoweri Museveni, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has shared a video on X displaying the ordeal of a torture victim under dictatorship.
In the video, the suffering of Edward Ssebuufu, a prominent opposition activist, was shown to the world by Kainerugaba, the Telegraph reported.
Notably, Muhoozi Kainerugaba (51) is Commander of Uganda's Armed Forces and the man most likely to succeed his 80-year-old father as President.
The sons of the dictator have often been accused of violent behaviour – Col Muammar Gaddafi's one-time heir, Saif al-Islam, carries an indictment for alleged crimes against humanity – yet only Kainerugaba has apparently chosen to live-post his cruelty to 1.1 million social media followers.
In those posts, Kainerugaba's X account revels in Ssebuufu's agony and degradation, describing how the prisoner was supposedly 'crying" and 'urinating", before adding, 'I still have to castrate him."
Kainerugaba, received a bachelors degree in political science from Nottingham University in 1997 and passed out of Sandhurst in 2000. He proclaims his goal to ascend to the pinnacle of power.

Kainerugaba's previous outbursts have already earned him notoriety. He has in many ways praised Vladimir Putin as a 'hero", even offered to send Ugandan troops to fight for Russia. Besides he had also threatened to invade neighbouring Kenya ('two weeks to capture Nairobi"); and had also expressed his desire to marry Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister.
The background on his X homepage carries an image of Robert Powell playing Jesus Christ in the 1977 miniseries Jesus of Nazareth.
Ssebuufu, Head of Security for Uganda's opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, disappeared after being arrested near the capital, Kampala, on April 27.
Four days later, Kainerugaba's X account announced that Ssebuufu was in his captivity.
This followed a series of tweets glorying in ordeal of the prisoner. 'The beards were the first thing the boys removed. After he finished crying and urinating," read one post.

After Trump-Putin call, Russia rains missiles & drones on Kyiv, kills 4

Days after a call between US President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, Russia has launched a barrage of missiles and drones on Ukrainian capital Kyiv. Officials have said that at least four people have been killed. read more Fire and smoke rise in the city after a Russian drone strike, amid Russia's attack on Ukraine, in Kyiv, Ukraine June 6, 2025. (Photo: Reuters) Days after Vladimir Putin vowed to respond to Ukraine's Operation Spider Web in a call with US President Donald Trump, Russia on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday attacked Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities with missiles and drones. Ukrainian authorities said at least four people have been killed in Kyiv and 20 have been injured. As Russia had been attacking Ukraine with hundreds of missiles and drones on a near-daily basis for weeks before Ukraine's drone operation, it is not yet clear if the overnight barrage was part of such nightly attack or was a response to the drone operation that Putin referred. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD On Sunday, Ukraine attacked five airbases across the length and breadth of Russia with drones under Operation Spider Web. With 117 drones, Ukraine said it destroyed nearly a third of Russia's long-range, nuclear-capable bomber and surveillance aircraft's fleets. After a phone call on Wednesday, Trump said that Putin told him he would respond 'very strongly' to Ukraine's attack. Other than Kyiv, Russia also struck the city of Lutsk near the Ukraine's border with Poland and injured five people, according to CNN. Russia hits civilian areas in Kyiv, says Ukraine Ukrainian officials have said that Russia struck civilian areas in Kyiv and elsewhere. Kyiv's military administration head Timur Tkachenko said that Russia struck a 16-storey apartment building in the capital's area. Mayor Vitali Klitschko also said that fires were reported fires in Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi areas of the capital after Russian strikes. By 2 am, it had been reported that two Russian long-range bombers were involved in the attack. Kyiv Post reported analysts as saying that the unusually low number of aircraft appeared to be the result of Ukraine destroying nearly a third of Russia's bombers' fleet. Beside bombers, Russia also used a Kalibr cruise missile from its Black Sea fleet, according to the newspaper. Even though Ukraine and Russia have started direct talks in Turkey, no ceasefire is in sight. So far, Russia has rejected all three US-endorsed offers of ceasefire whereas Ukraine has accepted all of them. Yet Trump has not yet taken any action on Russia. Instead, he has continued to build pressure on Ukraine. STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD In the latest instance of ignoring Russian attacks and pressuring Ukraine, Trump on Thursday said that he was considering imposing sanctions on Ukraine and Russia both for stopping the war — even though Ukraine is the defender.

Man who ‘earns more than 95% of India' can't afford a home in Gurgaon: ‘No car or kids, doesn't splurge'

A post about a man earning ₹20 lakh a year and still unable to afford an apartment has sparked a conversation around the price of real estate in various Indian cities. A techie claimed that if his friend, earning ₹1.2 lakh a year, had to buy a house with proper amenities, he would end up living 'paycheck to paycheck'. 'Was having a discussion with a friend in Gurgaon. His CTC is 20 lakh. His in-hand is around 1.2 lakh per month after taxes, epf, and deductions. He doesn't splurge. No car. No kids. just a waifu,' a techie who goes by Akhilesh on X wrote. 'Every project he visits starts at 2.5 crore. The brochures talk about infinity pools, Zen gardens, Italian marble, biometric lifts. If he buys this, he has to live paycheck to paycheck. No buffer. No vacations. No emergencies,' he added. While talking about his friend, the techie further claimed, 'He earns more than maybe 95% of India, still can't buy a home in his city. The market is not broken. It's working exactly as designed - for someone else.' An individual wrote, 'That 95% statistic is correct? Or just people paying taxes? Because who's buying these expensive flats?' Akhilesh replied, 'Data is only available for people with legalised sources of money. It's not difficult to guess who are the ones buying expensive flats.' Another commented, 'Gurgaon is attractive for investors. I've seen a few projects where more than 90% are investors. Since the rally has already ended & the projects are still under construction, many investors want to exit now. I don't know if it's safe or not.' A third remarked, 'It's wild how even a high salary feels inadequate in certain cities. Many people are in the same boat, juggling expenses while trying to save. It makes you question what success means nowadays.' A fourth expressed, '95% of India doesn't make this less. The fact is most businessmen make more and never declare true income to save tax. The market is broken for taxpayers.'
