How Orlando Pirates found and signed new midfielder
Soweto giants Orlando Pirates are set to introduce a new player before the start of the Betway Premiership season in August.
Masindi Nemtajela, a 23-year-old from Johannesburg's Soweto, will be unveiled by Orlando Pirates from Marumo Gallants.
Nemtejela, who has played 20 matches in the Premier Soccer League this season, is a holding midfielder who will replace the departed Miguel Timm at the Buccaneers.

According to this latest report, the clubs' scouts and recruiters recommended Nemtajela to the Sea Robbers. The contract details suggest a three-year deal.
Zimbabwean attacker to Orlando Pirates?
'The deal for Masindi Nemtajela is as good as done. It's actually believed to be a three-year deal. Almost everything is finalised and he is expected to join the team in the pre-season camp. It's actually the scouts and recruiters who recommended him to the team so it's not really about who the coach will be. They looked at what he brings to the team which apparently is different from most of the midfielders the club has at the moment. So it's a three-year deal from July 2025 to June 2028,' an insider told Soccer Laduma.
'The scouts and recruiters were looking at a direct replacement for Timm and Masindi fitted in that area and that's why they went for him. Now it's believed that everything is sorted and a three-year deal has been agreed,' an additional source added.

'I advised Chiefs to sign Mayele but Bobby ignored me'
Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Kanga Nzenza says he once advised Amakhosi to sign Congolese top striker Fiston Mayele, but his plea was left unheard. Mayele is one of the hottest strikers on the African continent, having helped Pyramids win the CAF Champions League this past weekend. The 30-year-old finished the competition as the top goalscorer, having scored in the semi-final and final. Since last year, Kaizer Chiefs have been linked to Mayele, but no formal bid has been made by the Soweto giants. Nzenza mentioned that he spoke with Amakhosi boss Bobby Motaung about the striker. 'I once advised Chiefs to acquire Mayele,' Nzenza told KickOff. 'Just look at what he is doing now. I was clear that Chiefs needed to sign him because he has the ability to do well here. He can blend well with the Chiefs players and has been performing well, even though he may not be in top form at the moment. 'I even mentioned to that I was struggling to reach Bobby Motaung about Mayele because he is always busy. My plea was that Chiefs must sign him. They received my message, but they didn't act on it,' added the retired footballer. 'At the time, he was playing for Yanga in Tanzania, but then a club from Egypt signed him. He's an exceptional player. Whenever he comes to play for the national team, they refer to him as a super sub. 'Whenever he comes on, he changes the game. Look at how Sundowns lost the [Caf] Champions League because of him.' Given how much Mayele earns at Pyramids, Kaizer Chiefs are unlikely to afford his wages. The striker is set to leave the Egyptian club at the end of the season, according to reports.
