In a joint statement issued after two days of intensive consultations, the foreign ministers of the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon and Egypt reaffirmed their backing for Syria's stability, unity and the rights of all its citizens. The talks were held to address the latest developments in Syria, particularly the recent unrest in Suweida. The ministers welcomed the ceasefire agreement reached in Suweida and emphasised the need for its full implementation to preserve national unity, prevent further violence and uphold the rule of law. They also voiced support for President Ahmad al-Sharaa's commitment to hold those responsible for attacks in the predominantly Druze city accountable. They emphasised that such actions — referring to Israel's attacks — threaten the country's security and hinder reconstruction efforts. The ministers called on the international community to assist Syria in its reconstruction process and urged the United Nations Security Council to act on its responsibilities by enforcing Israeli withdrawal from occupied Syrian territories and upholding relevant resolutions, including Resolution 2766 and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

French President Emmanuel Macron said that Israel's war on Gaza was 'unjustifiable' and he 'strongly condemns" the Israeli airstrike on a church in Gaza, he said in a post on X on Thursday. 'Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and all Christians who, like all Palestinian civilians in Gaza and the hostages, are living through hell'. He said he had told Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem that France is in 'solidarity with all Christians in Palestine, who, from Gaza to Taybeh, are now under threat'. 'Every day, dozens of Palestinian civilians are killed in Gaza: the continuation of this war is unjustifiable,' Macron went on to say. 'It is unjustifiable and shameful that humanitarian aid is not being delivered on a massive scale, in violation of all international principles of humanitarian action'. He also called for a ceasefire to be finalized, and civilians and hostages freed from the threat of permanent war. Earlier on Thursday, Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot described the bombing of the Catholic Church of the Holy Family in Gaza as "unacceptable". The church – along with all Catholic religious communities in Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza - are under the historical protection of France, based on an agreement between the Ottoman Empire and France dating back to the early 20th century. Three people were killed in the attack, and 10 people were injured.

UAE, other Arab countries reject foreign interference in Syria, condemn Israeli attacks
Amid the increased attacks on Syria, the UAE, along with other Arab countries, has issued a joint statement in regards to supporting the country's government and rebuilding. The statement comes after foreign ministers of the UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, and Egypt held intensive talks over the past two days on the developments in Syria. They agreed on a unified position and joint efforts to support the Syrian government in rebuilding Syria on foundations that guarantee its security, stability, unity, sovereignty, and the rights of all its citizens. They also welcomed the agreement to end the crisis in As-Suwayda, and emphasised the need to implement it to protect Syria, its unity, and its citizens, in a manner that spares Syrian blood and ensures the protection of civilians, the rule of law, and the rule of law. The group also welcomed the commitment of Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara'a to hold accountable all those responsible for violations against Syrian citizens in As-Suwayda, and supporting all efforts to establish security, the rule of law, and the rule of law in As-Suwayda and throughout Syria, in addition to rejecting violence, sectarianism, and attempts to spread discord, incitement, and hatred. They further condemned and rejected the repeated Israeli attacks on the Syria, considering them a flagrant violation of international law and a blatant assault on Syria's sovereignty, destabilising its security, stability, territorial integrity, and citizens, and undermining the Syrian government's efforts to build a new Syria that achieves the aspirations and choices of its brotherly people. They emphasised that Syria's security and stability are a pillar of regional security and stability and a shared priority. Lastly, the ministers called on the international community to support the Syrian government in the reconstruction process, and called on the Security Council to assume its legal and moral responsibilities to ensure Israel's full withdrawal from the occupied Syrian territories, the cessation of all Israeli hostilities against Syria and interference in its affairs, and the implementation of Resolution 2766 and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.
