Prateik Babbar shares support for Babil Khan, says it's ‘not easy being Irrfan's son': ‘I was crying for him, know what he is feeling'
Babil Khan, who was last seen in the film Log Out, recently shared a video on his social media that was later taken down by him. Actor Prateik Babbar has now said that his 'heart goes out to' Babil because he can relate to what the 26-year-old must be going through. Prateik said that it is not easy to be born as Irrfan Khan's son as he was one of the greatest actors who represented India on a global platform. He said that since he too is the son of a great actor, Smita Patil, who passed away in childbirth, he somehow understands what Babil must be possibly going through.
Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Prateik said, 'Being Mr Irrfan Khan's son is not easy to deal with. Irrfan Khan passed away at a very crucial age in his life. He was a teen.' Prateik said that he was crying looking at Babil's video and added, 'I related to it and I have been having debates about it with a few of my friends. I said look whatever it is, if he is harming himself then it's wrong but you have to put it in perspective. You have to understand what that boy has been through. I understand it more than anybody else.'
Prateik Babbar said that Irrfan Khan was a very successful actor and Babil Khan lived a big part of his life under his father's protective shadow. 'He lived a life with his father, and his father made it beyond anybody in this industry could make it. My heart goes out to him. I was crying for him yesterday. I was like I know what you are feeling. It's not easy. I feel for Babil. I wish him well. I wish him all the love and healing. I know his father is looking out for him,' he said.
In his video, Babil had named a few of his industry peers and said that Bollywood was a 'fake' industry. Later, his team later issued a statement and a part of it read, 'Over the past few years, Babil Khan has earned immense love and appreciation for his work, as well as for his openness about his mental health journey. Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days — and this was one of them. We want to reassure all his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon.'

Actor Deepshikha Nagpal recollected in a recent interview how stars like Shah Rukh Khan were humble at the beginning of their careers, as compared to the actors today. Talking to Bollywood Bubble, she recalled shooting for Koyla (1997) with Shah Rukh and how he would adjust on set in an age of no vanity van.
