Brian Wilson laid to rest
The Beach Boys singer died on 11 June at the age of 82 and his daughter Carnie Wilson has revealed she and her family attended a funeral service for him on Wednesday (06.08.25), which has given her some "closure".
Sharing a photo of pink, blue and purple flowers, she wrote on Instagram: "Today we laid my Daddy to rest. It was incredibly difficult to see that happen, but at the same time it gave more closure and more of a feeling of restful peace.
"The last eight weeks have been extremely challenging and like nothing I've ever experienced. I love and miss him so much and I wish he could come back."
The Wilson Phillips singer believes her dad has sent a number of "signs" since he passed away, which she has taken comfort in.
She continued: "There's so many signs that he gives me every day and I know that he's around ...he can hear me and he can see me. He makes that apparent. I'm so grateful for this.
"Today we had a couple of monarch butterflies that just would not leave the site. It was comforting and beautiful.
"I'm trying to deal with my emotions -they're so up and down. I know that he would want everybody to feel happy and not sad. He didn't like it when I cried."
And Carnie, 57, is grateful that her dad can live on and be remembered through his music.
She concluded: "I was talking with my dear friend Gunnar Nelson today who lost his Pop Ricky Nelson years ago and he reminded me that the world will have his music to sing to and remember him every single solitary day until we are all gone.
"This is a really special and a real heavy duty thought. It's much bigger than I can wrap my head around.
"For this I am grateful for though because I know it's the truth.
"So I just wanna say thank you... thank you Daddy for your beautiful contribution to so much happiness and real raw emotions that you have brought to people. Thank you to all the beautiful loving and supportive fans out there for honoring him. We share this together. God knows what we'd be without him. Love, Carnie (sic)"
It was previously explained that Brian - who had dementia - died of "respiratory arrest", caused by "decreased respiratory effort", which leads to a lack of oxygen.
Sepsis and cystitis were also listed as other causes of death, according to TMZ, which reports that obstructive sleep apnoea, neurodegenerative disorder, chronic respiratory failure and chronic kidney disease were cited as associated factors.

New Countdown Appears on Taylor Swift's Website Ahead of Appearance on Travis Kelce's Podcast originally appeared on Parade. A new mysterious countdown has just been posted to Taylor Swift's website. On the afternoon of Wednesday, August 13, a new countdown appeared on the site, similar to the one leading up to the announcement of her 12th studio album The Life of a Showgirl. The countdown is set to expire at 7 p.m. ET, the exact same time Taylor's episode of New Heights - the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason Kelce - releases on streaming platforms. RELATED: Taylor Swift Announces New Album'The Life of a Showgirl' After the countdown was up for roughly an hour, an orange lock was added to the left corner of the countdown screen, identical to the one posted to Swift's socials and official online store following her album announcement. The keyhole seemingly replicates the shape of the Eras Tour stage, and the countdown screen also displays the same door shown during the tour's closing in December 2024. After two hours had passed, a second lock was added to the corner of the screen, this one a shimmering pink color. Shortly after, a third blue door popped up too. With less than an hour left, a silver door also appeared on the screen. Immediately after the new countdown was uploaded, fans began speculating as to what it was for. "Track list and album cover reveal and deluxe announcement," wrote one fan on X. "Probably another meticulously planned drop — Swifties are already setting alarms." said another. Some Swifties even theorized that Taylor and Travis could be announcing an engagement. After rowdy youth disrupt Movie Mondays, Erie Downtown Partnership cancels remaining films
The Erie Downtown Partnership has canceled its weekly Movie Mondays in Perry Square in the wake of two large disturbances at the event in June and July involving large groups of local youth. Calling the move a 'difficult decision,' the Downtown Partnership on July 26 announced the cancellation of the three remaining Movie Mondays dates on its Facebook page. The free event, which features family-friendly movies, takes place in Perry Square. 'Despite great efforts to increase security, the events have become an attraction for escalating disruptive and dangerous behavior and cancelling the series seems to be our only path forward to ensure Downtown and Perry Square remain safe for everyone,' the Facebook post states. 'Though we explored a change in location and/or operations with several different partners, no such changes were feasible within our downtown district this late in the season.' The Downtown Partnership also thanked its event sponsors and partners. The nonprofit's Facebook post had been viewed more than 1,100 times and had been shared more than 300 times as of July 28. The event features family-friendly movies cancellations include scheduled showings of 'Muppet Treasure Island' on July 28, 'The Avengers' on Aug. 11 and 'Wicked' on Aug. 25. What prompted this decision? The first incident at Movie Mondays took place June 16, during a screening of 'The Incredibles.' Children and adults had gathered in the west side of the downtown Erie park to watch the film when, according to Erie police, a crowd of up to 150 juveniles showed up. Police said members of the group were running around, standing in the roadway and blocking traffic, and being loud and disruptive. Officers were called to the area and ushered the group to the east park at Perry Square, where they eventually dispersed, police said. Roughly 30 minutes later, a large group returned and another disturbance broke out, including a few fights, police said. The movie ended about 10 minutes early and one person was charged with disorderly conduct, police said. Another disturbance involving a large group of 'rowdy' youths broke out at Perry Square and created disruptions during the Movie Mondays screening of 'Moana'on July 14, Erie Police Chief Dan Spizarny said. Police knew about the cancellation of the remaining Movie Mondays before the Downtown Partnership announced it publicly, Spizarny said. 'We stayed in regular contact with (the Downtown Partnership) about this since the first disturbance,' Spizarny said. 'We tried some different things, like extra officers and they had private security. But the amount of kids coming down and disrupting the event was just unmanageable, unfortunately.' Spizarny said large groups of youths 'showed up unescorted and they were not there for the movie. They would run around chasing each other and next thing you know someone would be in a fight. Then multiple fights would break out.' 'Complex issues' Following the June 16 Movie Mondays disturbance, the Downtown Partnership posted on Facebook that the incident was 'in direct conflict with the organization's mission of creating a safe, fun and welcoming downtown. 'We recognize that this incident prompts several other concerns: What need is being overlooked among the youth of our community that may result in these actions? What are we lacking in Erie in terms of a safe third space for these teens to gather without incident? How can we collaborate with our community partners to meet that need?' the organization previously stated on Facebook. "These are complex issues, but Erie Downtown Partnership is committed to contributing to a solution that works to address these needs and creates a better downtown experience for all.'
