Virtually Imperceptible Facial Expression Sends Shock Wave Through ‘White Lotus' Fan Base

The Onion24-02-2025
NEW YORK—With thousands flocking to social media to discuss a scene from the popular HBO series in which a character's brow is slightly furrowed, an almost imperceptible facial expression is said to have sent a shock wave through the White Lotus fan base Sunday evening. 'Y'all…did you see what Walton Goggins just did using nothing but his forehead?' a user on X wrote in a viral post that included a screen capture from the show in which a mild crease appears between the eyebrows of Goggins' character Rick Hatchett, a split-second gesture that fans in the reply section agreed changed the entire arc of the show's third season. 'Give. Him. An. Emmy. Right. Now. If you weren't paying attention, go back and watch this scene again and observe how it tells us everything we need to know about Rick's dark past without saying a word.' At press time, the show's fans on social media had formulated an entirely new theory about how the season would unfold after watching a preview of next week's episode in which Goggins' brow appears smooth and relaxed.

Party on, Jon Jamón: Jon Hamm spotted at Bad Bunny concert in Puerto Rico

When Jon Hamm touches down in PR, he's far from a "Turista." The Emmy-winning actor, who's made it no secret that he's a Bad Bunny superfan, was spotted attending the reggaeton superstar's concert residency in Puerto Rico over the weekend. Bad Bunny kicked off the hotly anticipated string of shows, titled No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí, on July 11 at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, the island's largest indoor arena. Hamm, also known by his fan alias "Jon Jamón," was seen dancing to the Grammy-winning singer's energetic set throughout the concert. The "Mad Men" alum, 54, also channeled the tropical inspiration of the Puerto Rican landscape with his show attire, which included a short-sleeved, island-style shirt with matching bottoms and a bucket hat. As seen in concert footage, Hamm had one of the best seats in the house. The actor was spotted in Bad Bunny's "La Casita," a VIP section modeled after a traditional Puerto Rican home. Hamm waved and blew kisses to nearby fans, and he gyrated to the music as Bad Bunny made his way through the crowd. Hamm isn't the only celebrity who's partied it up at Bad Bunny's casita. Actor Austin Butler, who went viral for his dance moves at the singer's residency, raved about the concert experience during an Aug. 12 interview on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." "I'm just like, so proud of him," Butler recalled. "I'm watching him going, 'Oh my God, look how much you mean to everyone here.' I'm like, falling in love with Puerto Rican culture and the dancing, and everybody is so sexy and amazing." Bad Bunny is expected to continue his residency performances every weekend through Sept. 14, followed by a world tour that commences in November. 'My brain is in two movies': Austin Butler recalls trippy Bad Bunny concert after taking edible Jon Hamm explains his love for Bad Bunny During an April 10 appearance on the "Today" show, Hamm opened up about his love of Bad Bunny's work. "You can't listen to his music and not smile," Hamm told host Savannah Guthrie. "I just love his story. He's a really nice guy. He's funny. He's an 'SNL' guy, too. They love him over there." Hamm and Bad Bunny performed together for the 50th anniversary special of "Saturday Night Live," during which Hamm received the nickname "Jon Jamón" from "SNL" alum Amy Poehler as a play on his surname (Jamón translates to "ham" in Spanish). Bad Bunny setlist: All the songs on his No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency Hamm also shared his excitement about his plans to attend the No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí residency, praising Bad Bunny for staying true to his Puerto Rican roots. "It's really cool that he's going back to his home, to really kind of give back to the fans," Hamm said. "He's reserving the first four, five or 10 shows, or whatever it is, for only residents of Puerto Rico, which is so cool."

‘The Devil Wears Prada 2' costume designer slams constant set photos: ‘Such a shame'

The devil is in the details. Emmy-winning costume designer Molly Rogers isn't thrilled with 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' set photos making the rounds. 'You know, people are just gonna get burned out with all the paparazzi shots,' Rogers exclusively told The Post. She was referring to all the set photos of Anne Hathaway, 42, and fellow cast members such as Meryl Streep, 76, and Emily Blunt, 42, filming the upcoming movie in New York City. Social media has been flooded with snaps from the set, as fans have poured over their outfits and guessed at plot points. 'There's people monetizing my work. That are identifying every single thing they wear,' Rogers added. Hathaway and her co-stars have been identified as wearing clothing from Dries Van Noten, Saint Laurent, Stella McCartney, Dior, Coach, and more. 'It's just such a shame,' Rogers said. 'A lot of times, you feel like you've already seen the movie just by the exterior shots.' The costume designer acknowledged, however, that if a scene involves characters 'doing a walk and talk in New York,' then 'you can't do anything about' bystanders taking photos. The set photos fall into a long trend of images hitting the internet before a movie debuts its trailer. In recent months, there have been steamy set photos of Timothee Chalamet and Gwyneth Paltrow filming their movie 'Marty Supreme.' In an interview with The Post in February, 'The White Lotus' executive producer David Bernad said that one of the biggest 'struggles' of filming the Emmy-winning HBO hit show was that 'tourists were filming us filming.' 'The White Lotus' Season 3 was shot in a real hotel in Thailand, where fellow guests were also vacationing on the premises. 'There was a moment where we were filming a pretty sensitive scene, and there was somebody filming from a hotel room,' Bernad recalled. He ended up calling the person over and watching as they deleted the footage from their phone. When megahit 'Game of Thrones' was filming its ending, the show was even rumored to have filmed multiple 'fake' endings, in an effort to avoid spoilers. 'I think they're filming a bunch of stuff and they're not telling us. I'm being serious….I think that they don't even trust us,' series star Emilia Clarke told The Hollywood Reporter in 2018. 'There's lots of different endings that could happen; I think we're doing all of them and we aren't being told which is actually what's going to happen.' Although leaked footage is understandably a thorn in the side of any production, many viewers enjoy dissecting them. It's become an unavoidable part of modern social media culture. The original 'The Devil Wears Prada' had costume designer Patricia Field, but Rogers, who has worked on 'Sex and the City' and the spinoff 'And Just Like That,' also worked on that film. Rogers has long been known as Field's protegee. Field, 83, hasn't publicly stated why she's not returning for the sequel, but she's also working on Netflix's 'Emily in Paris.' 'I worked on the first [movie] with Pat,' Rogers said, referring to Field. 'I always try to follow her DNA, even though it's 20 years later, I think, for all these characters.' The original 2006 movie follows aspiring journalist Andrea 'Andy' Sachs (Hathaway), who ends up landing a job as an assistant to high-powered fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly (Streep). Andy isn't interested in fashion and wants to do more serious journalism, but she takes the job at the fictional Runway magazine, anyway. The two women have a battle of wills, but ultimately end in a place of mutual respect. Andy also butts heads with Miranda's senior assistant, Emily (Blunt) and bonds with art director Nigel (Stanley Tucci). The sequel will see Hathaway, Streep, Tucci, and Blunt reprise their roles, joined by Kenneth Branagh, Justin Theroux, BJ Novak, and Simone Ashley, among others. Sydney Sweeney and 'Summer House' alum Paige DeSorbo were also seemingly spotted on set, even though their casting hasn't officially been announced. 'Entourage' star Adrian Grenier — who played Hathaway's love interest — will reportedly not reprise his role. Australian actor Patrick Brammall has appeared to step in as her new beau. 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' is expected to hit theaters on May 1, 2026. Solve the daily Crossword

Harry Potter Set Videos Show 2 Beloved Characters Together

New videos and photos from the set of HBO's Harry Potter reboot have revealed fresh looks at Nick Frost's Hagrid and Dominic McLaughlin's Harry Potter. Who are in the new Harry Potter set videos and photos? The cast and crew of Harry Potter were recently spotted on set at Borough High Street, where McLaughlin and Frost were spotted filming scenes. Harry's outfits continue to tease a 1990s setting, which would be faithful to J.K. Rowling's books. While Frost was on set, some of the new set photos show Hagrid's stunt double, Anthony Wally, standing in for the actor when he appears next to McLaughlin, as the character is supposed to be roughly twice the height of a mortal man. Wally is shown wearing a Hagrid headpiece, which will be replaced in post-production by Frost's face through special effects, a technique that was also used for Robbie Coltrane's Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies. Check out the new Harry Potter set photos below: McLaughlin recently opened up about succeeding Daniel Radcliffe in the role of Harry Potter, admitting that it felt 'a bit surreal to be honest.' He continued, 'I was always a huge Harry Potter fan when I was younger. And it was like the dream role, of course, so I'm thrilled to be able to be doing it.' The actor will lead the series, with Arabelle Stanton and Alastair Stout co-starring as Harry Potter's best friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively. The rest of the main cast includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, and Frost as Rubeus Hagrid. Actors who will recur in the first season include Tristan Harland, Gabriel Harland, Ruari Spooner, and Gracie Cochrane, who were recently revealed to be portraying Ron's siblings Fred, George, Percy, and Ginny, respectively. Francesca Gardiner is serving as head writer and showrunner on Harry Potter, while Mark Mylod is attached as its main director. The first season is slated to premiere on HBO in 2027.
