Everywhere you turn, someone's talking about AI. It's the centerpiece of Hard Fork and Pivot, of course—but it's also dominating more mainstream conversations. AI isn't just a tech story anymore; it's the air we're breathing.And while some are scrambling to keep up, for me, this moment doesn't feel like a disruption. It feels like a reunion.
I began my career just as the world was transitioning from paper to digital. The tools were clunky, and the transitions were slow. But even before I entered the workforce, I'd unknowingly been attending cultural prep classes for the world we're now stepping into.Like many in my generation, I grew up watching Star Trek. When the crew faced a crisis, they didn't pull out a manual; instead, they asked, "Computer, analyze the anomaly and recommend an approach." The idea of speaking naturally to a machine and expecting meaningful guidance was already embedded in our collective expectations.When crew members left the ship, they carried tricorders—handheld analyzers that scanned environments, accessed vast databases, and offered real-time feedback. Sound familiar? The iPhone in your pocket is essentially that tricorder integrated into your life without a second

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency" may have become a punchline, but it reflected something profound: artificial intelligence as a trusted, high-stakes partner. We even had an early preview of where humanoid robotics might lead. In *The Next Generation*, Data wasn't just an android. He was a sentient, evolving being who raised questions about identity, emotion, and morality. At the time, he was fiction. Disney Reportedly Planning Full Reboot of the INDIANA JONES Franchise — GeekTyrant
It looks like Indiana Jones might actually be headed for the reboot treatment. According to a recent report from DisInsider, Disney and Lucasfilm are considering a full relaunch of the iconic adventure franchise. While nothing has been officially announced, The report said: 'Lucasfilm is letting the franchise rest for a bit before they do a full reboot of the franchise. I would expect the studio to announce something next year at the D23 Expo because even though the last film tanked at the box office, Indiana Jones is still an iconic IP and Disney/Lucasfilm do not want to waste that.' It's not hard to see why Disney would want to reassess things. After acquiring Lucasfilm in 2012, Star Wars content exploded, but Indy stayed mostly dormant. Nearly a decade passed before Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny finally hit theaters in 2023, and after all that anticipation… the movie flopped. Despite fairly positive reviews, Dial of Destiny grossed just $384 million globally against a massive production budget reportedly in the $295–387 million range. That's not what you want from a cornerstone IP. James Mangold stepped in to direct Dial of Destiny after Steven Spielberg, who helmed the first four films, chose to bow out. The movie marked Harrison Ford's final outing as the fedora-wearing archaeologist. While the legacy actor was gracious in his exit, telling press 'Shit happens' in response to the film's box office performance, Mangold admitted that 'it hurt' to see the movie underperform. Still, Indy isn't going away. As the report notes, the character is simply too valuable to leave in a wooden crate marked Top Secret and stashed away in a warehouse. The recent release of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle , a critically acclaimed video game, proves there's still life in the brand., and if Disney wants to keep it going, a reboot makes the most sense. The big question is, how will they go about doing that? Producers of the franchise have already said that they won't recast Indiana Jones, but Disney could always just ignore that and recast. Or they introduce a whole new character set in the same universe. Personally, I would love to see a new adventure film or series that follows Ke Huy Quan's Short Round as an adult. The series could fill us in on what happened to him after the events of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom , and how his relationship with Indiana shaped his life. The series could show us what became of Short Round, and how he followed in Indiana's footsteps and became an archaeologist. In 2008, The Lost Journal of Indiana Jones was published, and it says that Short Round actually did become an archaeologist like his mentor, and went even went on a journey to track down the Peacock's Eye, which was the diamond Indy lost at the beginning of The Temple of Doom . No official announcement has been made yet, but with D23 coming up next year, don't be surprised if Disney finally opens that sarcophagus and reveals what's next for the franchise.

Really, Bradley's just doing me a favor. He's a friend. We've stayed in close contact since the Guardians movies, and I admire him greatly as an actor and as a director. I just said, 'Hey, will you do me a favor? Come down, go to England, we're going to shoot you in a 3D environment, make a hologram of you, and you can play Jor-El. He was like, 'Okay.' During another recent interview with Screen Rant, James Gunn also stated his Superman is 'about a person who thinks of himself in a certain way, finds out that isn't true, and has to recontextualize who he is in the face of that.' This is about his interior life. Warner Bros. has released a trailer for its new Cat in the Hat movie starring the voices of Bill Hader, Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Paula Pell, Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, and Tituss Burgess. Charlize Theron, Uma Thurman and Kiki Layne recap the events of the first Old Guard ahead of the sequel releasing today on Netflix. According to The Playlist, Mackenzie Davis and Charlie Heaton will star alongside Josh Hartnett in upcoming, currently untitled limited series at Netflix about a sea monster terrorizing Newfoundland. Building The Future Of ITSM: Putting People At The Heart Of Excellence

ITSM has evolved from a reactive incident management approach to a more proactive end-to-end ecosystem that aligns with the business objectives. From what I've seen over the course of my career, in the early days, organizations focused on resolving IT incidents and often operated in silos. Today, ITSM has evolved to support IT services and align with other business functions, thereby supporting the organization's overall business goals. Nowadays, multiple frameworks in the market provide best practices for managing IT services throughout their lifecycle, which helps organizations align their IT with business needs, thereby improving the efficiency and predictability of service delivery. Emerging Technology With emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins and the internet of things (IoT), organizations can offer more value more efficiently, potentially leading to cost savings. To achieve cost-effectiveness, many organizations face tremendous pressure to innovate with their services and products using these emerging technologies. It is estimated that overall IT spending will increase by 9.8% between 2024 and 2025. According to Gartner, agentic AI is forecasted to be the top technology trend in 2025. However, before investing resources in these emerging technologies, organizations should ask themselves how AI can help them achieve their short-term and long-term goals. Leaders should be clear about their objectives and whether they provide value to both their customers and shareholders. For example, in the context of ITSM, experienced leaders should be able to identify how the services their team provides can be better streamlined to deliver value to the customer and achieve competitive advantages through waste elimination and resource optimization. They must identify where emerging technologies such as agentic AI can be integrated to achieve those goals. Drawing from my experience, I have observed that when leaders possess a deep understanding of their domain and a clear insight into customer needs, organizations are better positioned to maximize resources and deliver exceptional value. This strong foundation not only enhances operational efficiency but also drives sustainable competitive advantage. How Can AI Help You? The question is not so much about whether a company should embark on an AI wave. Instead, the company should ask itself what its current business model is, what its business vision and long-term goals are and how AI can help it achieve those goals. There are already many use cases that utilize emerging technologies in the ITSM process. This includes AI-powered virtual assistants that help users reset passwords, detect and resolve incidents proactively and automatically and more. To ensure their AI initiatives are effective, companies should devote a reasonable amount of time and effort to change management. According to McKinsey, for every $1 spent on developing a GenAI model, companies should spend $3 on change management. Today, there are many open-source large language models (LLMs) available for commercial use (provided companies comply with special licenses for their respective models). Although this might help organizations adopt emerging technology more quickly, there are other pitfalls that organizations should not overlook. This includes integrating AI with existing ITSM tools and workflows. Organizations that fail to integrate AI solutions with their existing ITSM platforms may delay or derail their deployment efforts, ultimately demoralizing their teams. To have a sound AI system, we know that high-quality, consistent data remains one essential factor. Poor data quality can lead to inaccurate AI output, undermining trust and effectiveness. Cultural resistance and change management are other critical factors I've seen hinder an effective AI solution. Leaders need to ensure that employees receive explicit messages about what a new AI deployment means for them and how they can be involved in the AI journey. On top of all of this, the ethical use of AI, security and privacy are other essential factors all businesses consider. Organizations must ensure that their AI solutions comply with local regulations. The impact of a security breach involves both monetary (penalties from local regulators) and non-monetary consequences (brand damage). The Future Of AI Innovation: Human-Centered Design Embracing emerging technology is a journey. To achieve a sustainable solution, organizations must ensure that their products and services continue to meet customers' needs. I've seen how ITSM has evolved over the years; it is a progressive digital transformation that significantly reduces human dependency, enabling ITSM systems to operate as autonomous entities that make decisions and manage complex, decentralized and hybrid IT environments. In light of all of this, organizations still need to recognize that people drive technology. Therefore, human-centered design must be a key part of all technology initiatives. ITSM can only continue to adapt to technological advances by having people at its center—whether in technology or organizational strategy.
