Le Creuset rainbow mugs cut to £9 each in Prime deal are a 'daily dose of joy'
As reported in the Express at the time, a set of six vibrant, rainbow-coloured Le Creuset stoneware coffee mugs topped the best seller lists for Amazon Spring Deals Day with thousands of shoppers snapping up the deal before it sold out. Now the cheery high-end cups are back, with the set of six reduced by 38% to £52.99 in a deal for Prime members for the duration of the sale which runs to 11.59pm tomorrow night (July 11).
With the 350ml mugs sold individually at £17 each, this effectively makes each mug is almost half the price of buying them one at a time, with each mug working out at £8.80 each within the deal. Meanwhile, the six mug set, which includes Cherry, Volcanic, Soleil, Palm, Teal and Ultra Violet shades, still costs a hefty £85 when bought directly from Le Creuset's website.
Well-known among foodies, Le Creuset is a premium brand which usually comes with a similarly high-end price tag, so these mugs are a great way to start or expand their collection. As well as the vibrant aesthetic, they are a practical option for the kitchen, being freezer and dishwasher safe and made of chip-resistant enamel able, according to the brand, to withstand temperatures of up to 260°C. They also come with a ten-year guarantee, so should be a cupboard staple for years to come.
Coffee and tea lovers have several other great options courtesy of the Amazon Prime Day sale, with Ninja's hot and cold Thirsti travel bottle being an early sell out during the event (it's now only available from Ninja directly), outselling a huge 25% off deal on Stanley Quencher mugs. Elsewhere, Dawson's rainbow stoneware mugs come in a shade smaller than Le Creuset's options holding 312ml of liquid, but are also cheaper at £16.99 for the set.
Meanwhile the Le Creuset mugs have thousands of devotees, with more than 1,300 Amazon shoppers awarding the set a rating of 4.8 stars out of 5. Shoppers praise them for their bright colours, their sturdiness and how they keep drinks hot for a good length of time.
One happy shopper described them as 'eye candy for your kitchen,' adding: "The rainbow array of colours is simply stunning and has turned my mundane coffee routine into a daily dose of joy. Choosing which hue matches my mood has become a morning ritual.
"The quality is exactly what you'd expect. The stoneware feels substantial and the chip-resistant enamel has stood up to my clumsiest moments. I've accidentally clinked them against countertops more times than I'd like to admit, and they still look brand new."
However, they added a word of warning: "The weight of the mugs is also worth noting. While I appreciate the sturdy feel, some might find them a bit heavy, especially when full."
Another reviewer said: " These mugs are really excellent quality and will last for years. I bought them to replace some Denby mug). These Le Creuset mugs are equally good quality, with very shiny surfaces inside and out so they are really easy to keep clean and do not stain with tea and coffee. The colours are great, and all arrived safely packed and in perfect condition."
Another shopper said while they were 'a bit more expensive, the quality is there,' adding: "After years buying cheap mugs, we finally cracked and bought the full size le Creuset mugs and fell in love with them. They feel solid, wash great in the dishwasher and we love the look. A bit on the expensive side, but for quality cups that will last we're happy."
The Le Creuset rainbox mug set is just one of hundreds of eye-catching deals that are part of the Amazon Prime Day event, which runs until 11.59pm on Friday, July 11. But Amazon is not the only online retailer trying to tempt shoppers to bag a bargain ahead of the summer holidays. Lakeland has a huge kitchen sale running currently offering up to 50% off everything from ice cream makers to air fryers. Meanwhile, Argos has just launched an up to 50% off sale with discounts on big name brands like Shark, Dyson and LEGO, while Boots' Super Savings Week is packed with some big discounts - particularly around fragrances and premium beauty products.

Grocery wars! Amazon expands food delivery to 1,000 cities in push to compete with Walmart
Amazon customers across 1,000 U.S. cities can now order same-day grocery delivery as the tech giant tries to take a bite out of Walmart 's online grocery business. The retailer offered same-day delivery in Phoenix, Orlando, and Kansas City for perishable foods and has now expanded its operation to include hundreds of other regions, the company announced Wednesday. Amazon plans to roll out the service to 2,300 cities by the end of 2025. 'Millions' of items, such as everyday household essentials or electronics, were already available to be delivered on the same day as they were ordered, the company said. For Amazon Prime members, same-day delivery is free for orders over $25 in most cities; there's a $2.99 fee if that minimum is not met. For customers without Prime, the service is available with a flat $12.99 fee. The focus on the quick delivery of groceries seems to be the company's latest attempt to compete with Walmart, which leads the e-commerce grocery market. Walmart can deliver to 93 percent of U.S. households on the same day, according to a Q4 earnings release. The store held the title of top online grocery retailer in terms of sales, eMarketer found in January. 'Consumers are doing more comprehensive grocery shopping at Walmart, whereas, with Amazon, shoppers tend to do more one-off purchases,' analyst Blake Droesch said in a statement at the time. Other players, including Uber, DoorDash and InstaCart, are popular in the food-delivery space. But nearly three quarters — 72 percent — of U.S. digital grocery sales will come directly from retailers, like Amazon or Walmart, according to eMarketer. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy told shareholders in April 2023 that he hoped the company would expand in the $800 billion grocery business market. 'Grocery is a big growth opportunity for Amazon,' he said. That mission has been fruitful. Last year, Amazon raked in more than $100 billion in gross sales of groceries and household essentials. That figure excludes Whole Foods and Amazon Fresh. More than 2 billion groceries and household essentials were delivered the same or next day in the U.S. in 2024, the company reported in June. Amazon, once known only as an online bookseller, jumped into the grocery business nearly two decades ago. The retail giant began offering groceries on its website in 2006. The following year, it launched Amazon Fresh, which initially delivered groceries via van to a Seattle suburb, The Guardian reported in 2007. By 2020, the tech giant opened physical stores in Chicago and Los Angeles, boasting innovative technology that allowed customers to walk out of the store with their goods and pay for them without having to stop at a cashier. There are now 63 Amazon Fresh stores across the country.

Cisco projects upbeat quarterly revenue as AI fuels networking equipment demand
Aug 13 (Reuters) - Cisco Systems (CSCO.O), opens new tab forecast first-quarter revenue above Wall Street estimates on Wednesday, as the artificial intelligence boom boosted demand for its networking equipment from cloud customers. Hyperscale cloud investments are healthy and driving IT infrastructure financing, which sets up a good backdrop for Cisco. "Within the enterprise spending environment, there is incremental spending to beef up the infrastructure to accommodate AI, so that could potentially be another growth driver, especially with Cisco having such a big presence in the traditional enterprise market," Edward Jones analyst David Heger said. Big tech firms such as Microsoft (MSFT.O), opens new tab, Amazon (AMZN.O), opens new tab and Alphabet (GOOGL.O), opens new tab are ramping up spending to ease capacity shortages that have limited their ability to meet AI demand, even after several quarters of multi-billion-dollar outlays. Cisco's AI infrastructure orders exceeded $800 million in the fourth quarter, bringing the total for fiscal 2025 to over $2 billion, more than double its original target, CEO Chuck Robbins said on a post-earnings call. The company has not seen any pull-forward in demand for products, but did note a small impact from tariffs in the quarter and during the fiscal year, he added. "We expect the sovereign AI opportunity to build momentum in the second half of fiscal 2026. Cisco will be a core system provider for these significant AI training and inference cluster build outs and integral to their development and eventual hyperscaling." Cisco has partnered with Humain, Saudi Arabia's state-backed AI company, and it will provide digital solutions for Bahrain's government information and telecommunications infrastructure. The company expects revenue to be between $14.65 billion and $14.85 billion for the first quarter, compared with analysts' average estimate of $14.62 billion, according to data compiled by LSEG. Its revenue for the fourth quarter ended July 26 came in at $14.67 billion, compared with estimates of $14.62 billion. Networking product orders grew in the double digits during the quarter, driven by webscale infrastructure, switching, enterprise routing, industrial IoT and servers.

I'm buying another more powerful one.'
