The soap star has actually had the skin condition - where white spots or patches can be seen in different areas of her body - since 2020.
Today the Coronation Street legend gave fans an update on her "tough" journey.
The actress took to social media as she opened up on the effects of vitiligo, which is a chronic autoimmune disorder.
Sharing a slew of pics which showed how the condition had affected her hands and arms, she wrote a lengthy post which read: " Happy World Vitiligo Day.
"If you are new to my page or don't already know, I developed vitiligo in 2020.
"This has been one of the craziest journeys I have ever had. I was misdiagnosed for a while before I begged to be seen by a dermatologist, which then took another year. I was then diagnosed with vitiligo.
"Vitiligo is a skin condition where my immune systems attacks the melanocytes which produce the melanin in my skin.
"This causes white patches all over my body, which continue to spread daily.
"They become bigger and show up new places all the time!."
Giving fans an update on how she has been doing, Georgia said: "This year has been particularly tough as it has spread onto my face now. I have good days and bad days with the condition!

Vitiligo: What are the symptoms?
The main symptom of vitiligo is flat, white spots or patches on your skin.
Initially, the vitiligo may start as a patch of skin that is paler than the rest.
Gradually, the patch will become completely white as the pigment in the skin begins to fade.
Vitiligo does not cause discomfort to your skin, such as dryness, but patches may occasionally be itchy, guidance states.
"That's all that matters it's a hard thing to deal with, but I am a tough and I will not let it get to me.
"I have an amazing family and group of friends who mean the world to me.
"Happy world vitiligo day to my gang."
In March, Georgia revealed how she is advocating for the NHS to approve the prescription of medical cream, Ruxolitinib, which is reported to help those with the condition.
The actress shot to fame in Corrie in 2010, and was on the soap until 2015.

Cooking With the Stars contestant admits he was 'banned' from sitting next to co-star

Jordan North and Hugh Dennis were treated like "naughty school boys" while filming Cooking With The Stars Jordan North has revealed he received a telling-off from the production crew whilst filming Cooking With The Stars. ‌ The radio host's kitchen abilities were tested on the ITV programme, where he competed against stars including Outnumbered's Hugh Dennis. ‌ However, whilst they attempted to remain competitive for the cameras, the atmosphere was completely different away from the spotlight, with the duo being forced to sit apart and handled like "naughty school boys". ‌ "We got told off, didn't we?" Hugh confessed on The One Show, when questioned about his "bromance" with Jordan. "Yeah we got separated like we were naughty schoolboys by the floor manager, to the point where we weren't allowed to sit next to each other during filming," Jordan revealed, reports Wales Online. Hugh joked: "We were giggling - it was a bit like being at school!" Jordan continued: "While the other two celebrities are cooking, you're all sat on the side and you're not really meant to be talking, but I'd never met Hugh before, and obviously I'd watched him on Mock The Week and Outnumbered, so I just ended up fangirling. "There's cutaways of me just smiling at him, I followed him around during lunch breaks and stuff, sitting next to him." ‌ The pair feature in the reality competition alongside stars such as Love Island's Ekin-Su Culculoglu and EastEnders ' Natalie Cassidy. Presented by Emma Willis and Tom Allen, Cooking With The Stars features eight celebrities matched with professional chefs who serve as their guides. ‌ However, the professionals aren't permitted to participate in most of the tasks as the famous faces battle it out to create different meals. Throughout the preparation phase, they can strike a gong to let their guide jump in and assist for two minutes. Following each segment, the expert chefs serve as assessors to score the stars' creations, with the lowest two facing elimination in a cook-off culminating in a blind tasting challenge. ‌ Confessing his approach after being matched with Rosemary Shrager, Jordan later disclosed on The One Show that he plans to rely on "eye contact" to secure his place in the finale. He said: "You can see your chef from your cooking station, but you're not allowed to talk to them as technically that's cheating. ‌ "But it's all about eye contact, so if you look at your chef and they go like that [pulls a funny face], you know something's not right, but if they go [smiles] it means you're doing something right. "I had Rosemary Shrager, Sergeant Major Shrager, who is not afraid to tell you off." ‌ "She'd give you a stare and sometimes she'd shout, 'No, you nana!'" he chuckled. He continued: "I was a bit of a flapper but Hugh was quite calm, the most middle-class dad in the kitchen, watching him was quite amazing. He took about 20 minutes cutting up butternut squash at one point." When Hugh questioned, "Why were you watching me?" presenter Roman Kemp chuckled at the duo: "It's a strange bromance!" Cooking With The Stars is available to watch on ITVX. The One Show airs weekdays from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

Chesterfield heartbreakingly announce owner Phil Kirk's cancer treatment hasn't worked and he'll enter palliative care

CHESTERFIELD have confirmed the tragic news that owner Phil Kirk's cancer treatment has not been successful. Phil, who co-owns the League Two club with brother Ashley Kirk, will now enter palliative care. 4 A club statement announcing the heartbreaking news read: "Chesterfield Football Club owner Phil Kirk has been undergoing treatment for cancer in recent months. "Sadly, despite the best efforts of his medical team, the treatment has not been successful. Phil is now entering a period of palliative care. "Phil and his family remain deeply committed to the ongoing support of the club and its community. "The club will continue to operate as normal, and we are united in ensuring Phil's vision and values remain at the heart of everything we do." Phil was diagnosed with inoperable cancer in March. The outlook at the time was grim, and sadly the latest updates confirmed the club's worst fears. A club statement at the beginning of his treatment stated: "Over the next few months, he will be receiving treatment to prolong his life, but this is not expected to deliver a cure." 4 Fans and clubs from around the EFL have come forward with their condolences following the heartbreaking update. One Spireite fan gave testimony on X of the positive influence Phil and Ashley have had on the club since taking over in 2022. They said: "In all the 72 years of watching Chesterfield FC this is the saddest news I can ever remember coming from our club. "This man has made this club loved by young and old Phil this club and fans will never forget you." 4 4 Another fan added: This is deeply sad news. Phil, Ashley & everyone involved should be proud of the work done at town since their involvement. "His legacy will continue and town are in a much better place than when the Kirk family invested. Thoughts go to all." Since taking over, the brothers have invested over a million pounds on their way to earning the club promotion to the EFL at the end of the 2023-24 season. Their impressive campaign last season, their first in the EFL in six years, saw them earn their way into the playoffs with a seventh-place finish, where they were knocked out by Walsall. Their steady rise through the footballing pyramid, and the number of touching tributes from fans and rivals, is symbolic of the passion and the positive influence that the brothers have brought to the community in their limited time with the club thus far.

UK cinemas to host KPop Demon Hunters sing-alongs

Younger audiences will be singing their hearts out in cinemas across the UK this month as KPop Demon Hunters arrives on the big screen for a series of special sing-along events. The unexpected Netflix hit, which has become the most popular animated film of all time on the streaming platform, has hooked children (and many parents) worldwide since its release in June. The film's soundtrack, meanwhile, is dominating the charts with more than 3bn global streams so far and the song Golden reaching No 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and the UK's official singles chart. The official video has been viewed on YouTube more than 130m times. KPop Demon Hunters follows the adventures of the girl group Huntr/x, made up of Rumi, Mira and Zoey, who use their secret identities as demon hunters to protect their fans from supernatural threats and face off against a rival band, Saja Boys, whose members are secretly demons. Tickets are now on sale for the screenings across the UK on 23 and 24 August. Netflix confirmed similar events will be available in the US and Canada on the same weekend. Along with demand for a sequel, there is also an insatiable demand for its merchandise, with Hunter/x T-shirts, hoodies and hats among the bestselling items on Netflix's website. Maggie Kang, the film's Korean-Canadian co-director, previously said she and her co-director, Chris Appelhans, had wanted the film's music to be 'really incredible and really speak to the K-pop fans and legitimately fit into the K-pop space'. In contrast, Hollywood animation is having a lacklustre summer at the box office and it is possible that not a single fully animated film will make the top 10. The Disney-Pixar original Elio has been trounced by 'live-action' remakes of Lilo & Stitch and How to Train Your Dragon.
