Wife Storms Out of Husband's Birthday Dinner After He Tells Everyone She Is Pregnant as a Prank — Right After Miscarriage
A woman who threw her husband a steakhouse birthday party says he ruined the evening by pranking her in a cruel way
While she stood up to give him a toast, he joked that she was "pregnant" — something he called a "prank," but that came just months after a miscarriage
The woman writes on Reddit that she left him at the restaurant and had him Uber homeA 28-year-old woman wants to be reimbursed for her husband's birthday dinner after he embarrassed her in front of the guests with a prank.
In a since-deleted post shared to Reddit, the woman writes that she took her 31-year-old husband out to dinner for his birthday, reserving a table at his favorite steakhouse. She invited 10 close friends and family members and "paid for everything" herself.
"At dinner, I stood up to give a short toast about how proud I was of him for hitting a milestone at work," she explains. "I barely got two sentences in before he cuts me off and says, 'You know what would really make this birthday better? If [my name] finally admitted she's pregnant.' "
The woman, who is not pregnant nor is she trying to get pregnant, notes that she is sensitive about the topic following a recent miscarriage.
"Everyone at the table gasped, then stared at me for confirmation. My mother-in-law immediately started squealing and tearing up," she recalls. "My boss (who I invited because he helped get my husband promoted) actually stood up to congratulate us."
She continues, "I looked at him in total disbelief and said, 'What the hell are you doing?' He laughed and said it was a prank. Just a joke."
The woman got up and left. She paid the bill from her car via an app and texted everyone that the night was over. She told her husband, meanwhile, that "he could Uber home."
"When he did get back, he called me humorless, said I humiliated him on his birthday, and now even his family is saying I was 'cold' to him over a 'harmless joke,'" she writes. "He says I embarrassed him by walking out and that I made everyone uncomfortable. I think he humiliated me first."
The title of the post suggests that she now wants her husband to reimburse her, as she writes that she is "refusing to pay" for the dinner following the prank.

Reddit users are squarely on the woman's side, with one writing, "This wasn't a prank. It was public emotional sabotage.
"That's not harmless. That's not funny. That's cruel," the commenter added.
"It's the cruelty for me. Miscarriage is so painful," another chimed in. "Her husband's lack of basic human decency and consideration is astounding."
Another commenter offered advice, writing, "This is what I was coming to say. Consciously or not, he is blaming her, and his joke was cruel. I'm sorry for your miscarriage. I would suggest telling your husband you are reevaluating staying married without individual and couples counseling. And put trying to conceive on hold for a bit - this person does not have your back."

Nike Announces Release Dates For Jordan Gamma 11s and Bugs Bunny 8s
Nike Announces Release Dates For Jordan Gamma 11s and Bugs Bunny 8s originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The king of the sneaker world announced two highly anticipated releases scheduled for the vague 'Holiday 2025'. As it turns out, the Air Jordan 11 'Gamma' will be released on December 13 while the Air Jordan 8 'Bugs Bunny' is scheduled to release seven days later on December 20. Advertisement On the surface this should seem like sneakerhead catnip. With so many shoes being released in 2025 by Nike, one would think this is great news. The potential of scoring the Gamma 11s and the Bugs Bunny 8s absolutely moves the sneakerhead needle. The concern is that it does not allow consumers to recover. Grails are typically what gets someone into becoming a sneakerhead to begin with. For the uninitiated, a 'Grail' (as in 'holy grail') is a shoe an individual sneakerhead puts an irrationally high value on. In many cases a shoe will have limited quantities, usually high priced, rare or hard to find. It also suggests an all consuming need to find and purchase said shoe. In either case, the Gamma 11s or the Bugs Bunny 8s are both models most sneakerheads will want to buy. With many of those millions of people viewing either or both as a personal grail. Think Captain Ahab pursuing Moby Dick. The Space Jam connection is curious. Neither shoe technically falls under a colorway from the 90s film. However, there is a connection. The Jordan 8 began an affection for Looney Tunes, which many have speculated was a test balloon for a future Warner Bros project. View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article Advertisement The 8s have two primary colorways that lead the rest. The Aqua (releasing in July) and Bugs Bunny. The ones tied to the affectionate animated rabbit is essentially the 8s white version with reds and greys throughout. The Aqua is the mostly black version. Three years later, Nike would release the Jordan 11. In the movie Space Jam, the mostly black Jordan 11s seen in that movie would take on that name. 'The Space Jam 11s'. The Gamma is not that exactly. The outsole and logo details are 'gamma blue', but the rest of it is almost the Space Jam 11s. Making this release date quandary interesting to say the least. Related: Hornets Projected to Trade Up in Latest 2025 NBA Mock Draft Both grails, the Bugs Bunny 8s and the Gamma 11s, will assuredly sell out virtually immediately due to the demand of these specific colorways. If regular sneakerheads hope to secure these, it will be a rough November-December and they are advised to prepare for what feels like a double release or a 'pack' release. Come December, sneakerheads have the opportunity to check two grails off their list of must haves. This story was originally reported by Athlon Sports on Jun 13, 2025, where it first appeared.

National anthem singer claims Dodgers said she couldn't perform in Spanish, but she did it anyway
Amid an ongoing, controversial push to increase immigration enforcement in Los Angeles, the woman who sang the national anthem before Saturday night's Dodgers game said she felt like she "needed" to do something different for her performance. In a post to her TikTok account Saturday night, singer Nezza tearfully explained how she decided to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner" in Spanish prior to the matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants. "I've sang the national anthem many times in my life. But today, out of all days, I could not," she said. Nezza said she couldn't believe it when a representative from the Dodgers told her she couldn't sing the anthem in Spanish. Ultimately, she chose to ignore the wishes of the team. "I just felt like I needed to do it," she said. "I'm proud of myself for doing that today." Nezza at the premiere of "Apples Never Fall" held at The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures on March 12, 2024 in Los Angeles, California. Gregg DeGuire/Variety via Getty Images A child of immigrants, Nezza explained that her parents received citizenship when she was young. The thought of her parents being deported struck a chord with her, she said. "I just can't imagine them being ripped away from me," Nezza tearfully added. "What are we doing?" At the end of her video, Nezza said it's "safe to say" the Dodgers won't allow her back to sing the anthem. CBS News Los Angeles reached out to the Dodgers for comment, but did not immediately hear back.

‘Masters of the Universe': Nicholas Galitzine Has the Power in First Look at He-Man
Production on the new 'Masters of the Universe' movie has wrapped, and to mark the occasion, star Nicholas Galitzine ('The Idea of You') offered up a first look at him in costume as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe, who must battle the evil Skeletor in this adaptation of the Mattel toy franchise. Travis Knight, the CEO of Laika and director of the animated 'Kubo and the Two Strings' and 2018's 'Transformers' spinoff 'Bumblebee,' directed the new 'Masters of the Universe' movie from a screenplay by Chris Butler. 'Well, that's a wrap on 'Masters of the Universe.' It has been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He Man,' Galitzine posted on Instagram. 'It's been the role of a lifetime and I put everything into it. There's not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we've made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work.' Jared Leto fills the Skeletor role in the movie, while the rest of the cast includes Camila Mendes ('Teela'), Morena Baccarin ('The Sorceress'), Alison Brie ('Evil-Lyn'), Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson ('Malcolm/Fisto'), Idris Elba ('Duncan/Man-at-Arms'), Sam C. Wilson ('Trap Jaw'), Hafthor Bjornsson ('Goat Man'), Kojo Attah ('Tri-Klops'), James Purefoy ('King Randor') and Charlotte Riley ('Queen Marlena'). 'Masters of the Universe' will be released exclusively in theaters worldwide on June 5, 2026 before it streams on Prime Video and is produced by Escape Artists and Mattel Films. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nicholas Galitzine (@nicholasgalitzine) Mattel introduced the world to He-Man in 1982 with the launch of a toy line (dubbed Masters of the Universe) and the debut of the animated series 'He-Man and the Masters of the Universe' the following year. The show was about Prince Adam of Eternia, a man who looked just like He-Man, but was missing the hero's tanned skin. The show ended two seasons and 130 episodes later, but the story of He-Man lived on. In 1985, the animated movie 'The Secret of the Sword' introduced the hero's sister, She-Ra, who also later ended up with her own series, 'She-Ra: Princess of Power.' By 1987, both series had ended and the most famous iteration, the live-action film 'Masters of the Universe,' was released. Dolph Lundgren filled the role of He-Man and Frank Langella played Skeletor in the Cannon Films release. Mattel reintroduced audiences to He-Man three years later with the release of the series 'The New Adventures of He-Man.' The series was rebooted again in 2002, 2018 and 2021, as was 'She-Ra and the Princesses of Power' on Netflix. 'Masters of the Universe' is one of several bets on '80s IP for Amazon MGM Studios, which also includes a 'Voltron' movie and a new 'Highlander' film starring Henry Cavill.
