The Philadelphia Phillies have a few veteran players on their roster who signed with the team partway through their careers. None have ingrained themselves with the city quicker than Kyle Schwarber.

Ahead of their massive weekend series against the New York Mets, the Phillies announced some major personal news for Schwarber on Twitter/X. The Phillies shared the post commemorating Schwarber with the caption: "Congratulations on reaching 10 years of Major League service time, Kyle!"
Once the Phillies-Mets game begins on June 20th, Schwarber will have officially reached his tenth year of service time in his Major League career. For MLB players, reaching 10 years of service time is a huge deal.
Not only is it a testament to how good they were, being able to play ten seasons worth of baseball, but also the benefits that come from it. Upon reaching ten years of service time, players will receive a fully vested pension.

Schwarber will receive the fully vested pension now that he's reached his tenth year of service time. It's a big deal for every Major Leaguer, regardless of how much they made in their career.

In the final year of a four-year, $79 million deal, Schwarber is a player the city of Philadelphia desperately wants back. While he's expected to hit free agency, there is still hope the slugger returns to Philadelphia in free agency.
Across his 11-year MLB career, Schwarber has played four years in Philadelphia. He was named to the All-Star team in his first season with the team, and has been one of the best power-hitters in baseball since joining the team.

Schwarber has 449 hits, 370 runs, 71 doubles, 356 RBIs, five triples, and 154 home runs as a Phillies player. While he spent the majority of his career with the Chicago Cubs, he's played his best ball in Philadelphia.
He's a fan favorite, and now, upon reaching his tenth year of service time, has reached a remarkable milestone in his incredible career. It's a long way away from being a Hall of Fame career, but Schwarber's impact on the game has been incredible, and he's deserving of the flowers he'll receive upon reaching ten years of service time.

Thunder blow out Pacers in Game 7 to win NBA championship

The Oklahoma City Thunder won the NBA championship over the Indiana Pacers, 103-91, running away with Game 7 of the NBA Finals on their home court in exciting fashion. The last time this franchise won an NBA title was 1979, when they were still known as the Seattle Supersonics. Since relocating to Oklahoma City in 2008 and rebranding as the Thunder, they have not won a title until Sunday night. League MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his teammates made sure to change that on Sunday night, as their dominant regular season and NBA Playoffs run was capped in the best way possible in a do-or-die Game 7. This is a developing story. More to come.
