Season in Jeopardy! Texas baseball drops heartbreaker to UTSA, must now win 3 in a row
After jumping out to a 6-1 lead through three innings, UTSA outscored the Longhorns 8-1 the rest of the way and beat Texas in game two of the Austin Regional of the NCAA baseball tournament. The Roadrunners 9-7 win over Texas means UTSA advance to the regional final. Texas must now win three straight to advance to the Super Regional.
Texas starting Luke Harrison gave up one run through four innings, but struggled in the fifth. Harrison got tagged for four runs. His replacement, Max Grubbs, gave up three more. Suddenly Texas was playing from behind and could never catch the Roadrunners.
When the sixth inning was over, UTSA held an 8-6 lead. Texas cut the lead to one run thanks to a solo shot by catcher Rylan Galvan in the seventh inning.
Texas got the first two batters on first and second base in the bottom of the eighth. But UTSA pitcher Braylon Owens got short stop Jalin Flores to foul out, center fielder Will Gasparino to strike out swinging and two-sport star Jonah Williams to strike out looking to end the threat.
The Roadrunners added and insurance run in the top of the ninth and that was it.
UTSA advances to the championship game and get to chances at a win to advance to the Super Regional against the winner of the Los Angeles Regional.
Texas will face an elimination game against Kansas State at 2 p.m. CT at UFCU Disch-Falk Field. The Wildcats eliminated Houston Christian earlier on Saturday, 7-4. The winner of the UT-KSU game will face the Roadrunners at 6 p.m. CT. If UTSA loses the nightcap, the two teams will play a winner take all game on Monday.

Rockets' Kevin Durant continues going after Twitter users over strong claims
The post Rockets' Kevin Durant continues going after Twitter users over strong claims appeared first on ClutchPoints. Houston Rockets fans entered Thursday afternoon hyped for the release of their 2025-26 NBA regular season schedule. Kevin Durant and Co. will open up the season visiting the defending NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder on October 21, 2025. Until then, however, Kevin Durant continues to go after his critics on social media. Rockets' Kevin Durant continues going after Twitter users over bold claims Kevin Durant is no stranger to trolls, and his activity on social media suggest he actually enjoys the banter of going back and forth with fans and haters alike. In a few recent exchanges, Durant made sure to give his critics a piece of his mind. This comes after one of the league's best scorers responded to a Twitter user who disagreed with the idea of calling him the, 'greatest scorer of all time.' That led to a back-and-forth on Twitter, and that continued into Thursday evening. Just a few days ago, when the NBA announced that Durant and the Rockets would open up the season in front of the Oklahoma City Thunder, fans began debates about whether or not Durant deserved to have his jersey retired. Kevin Durant will be playing for his fifth NBA franchise, but the fourth in 10 seasons. After leaving the Warriors, Durant has played two-and-a-half seasons with the Brooklyn Nets and two-and-a-half seasons with the Phoenix Suns. Kevin Durant will be entering his 18th year in the NBA next season, playing 1,123 regular season games and 170 playoff appearances. In his 17-year NBA career, Durant has averaged 27.2 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.1 block per game while shooting 50.2 percent from the field and 39 percent from three during the regular season. In his postseason career, Durant has averaged 29.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.0 steal, and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the field and 35.6 percent from three. Shaq accepts boxing match with man who 'chopped me in my neck'
Shaquille O'Neal, the former NBA superstar, says he's ready to lace them up. No, not high-top sneakers. Boxing gloves. O'Neal, 53, has accepted a celebrity fight with Charles 'Charlie Mack'' Alston, a former bodyguard for actor Will Smith and a figure in the hip hop industry who has indicated he is in his 50s. In an Instagram video challenging O'Neal to fight, Alston this week explained the two men have a beef dating back to an encounter years ago. 'We were in Dallas doing an autograph signing, and (O'Neal) came and tried to jump in front of the line,' Mack said. 'I chopped him in his neck so he could get back.'' During the interview, Alston sat next to Damon Feldman, CEO of Officially Celebrity Boxing O'Neal accepted the fight in the comments section of Alston's video then posted his own video on Instagram. 'Hey celebrity boxing and Charlie Mack, I accept,'' O'Neal said. 'You name the time and place, I'll be there. Diesel don't run from nobody.'' In the video, the 7-foot-1 Hall of Famer also referred to his beef with Alston. "You chopped me in my neck, Charlie Mack, that's why I talk so funny. Payback time," O'Neal said. 'You name the time and place, I'll be there. Diesel don't run from nobody. … You better check my police record, Charlie Mack." On Tuesday, Mack wrote on his Instagram page, 'So I call Big Fella @shaq out yesterday & he accepted as I knew he would!!!! We've been talking about it way too long, now we MUST get it ON!!!!!!!!'' The latest on Mack's Instagram: the image of a fight-style poster featuring O'Neal and Mack. O'Neal weighed about 325 pounds during his 19-year NBA career. Mack is about 6-foot-6 and 290 pounds, according to a rap song recorded by Will Smith when he was rapping as 'The Fresh Prince.'' 'Me and you, baby, super heavyweight,'' Mack said on the video, adding that he was calling O'Neal 'Sha-knocked out.' That's what you're going to be.'' Official Celebrity Boxing has promoted fights pitting Lamar Odom, the retired NBA All-Star, against Ojani Noa, Jennifer Lopez's first husband and Sabrina Parr, a former track and field athlete and ESPN Radio host, and Jenn Harley, whose relationship with her former boyfriend was a storyline in "Jersey Shore."
