Forest's Taiwo Awoniyi in induced coma after urgent abdominal surgery
The Nigeria international underwent a procedure on Monday night, having suffered a serious injury during Sunday's 2-2 draw with Leicester.
There is no suggestion that the 27-year-old's condition is life threatening and it is understood the coma will help restrict his movement and regulate his heart rate.
Awoniyi collided with a post late on against the Foxes and received several minutes of treatment before being allowed to return to action.
The extent of his injury was revealed on Monday by the club's medical staff and he was rushed to hospital for treatment.
Forest said on Tuesday afternoon that he was 'recovering well'.

Chelsea's James set for period out with Euros injury
England forward Lauren James is set for a period on the sidelines with the ankle injury she suffered playing for England at Euro 2025, Chelsea have have not given any details of how long the 23-year-old will be in a statement on Wednesday the club said she is "now back with Chelsea and will undergo a period of rehabilitation with the club".James came off injured in the first half of the final against Spain last month as England won the tournament on penalties. She had also been withdrawn at half-time in the semi-final against Italy with the suffered a series of injuries last season limiting her to just 17 appearances and four goals for Chelsea.

Downing tools: the Premier League's most infamous attempted forced exits
Following Alexander Isak's decision to post an incendiary message on Instagram as part of his increasingly bitter attempt to force an exit from Newcastle, we look at how some others Premier League players have tried to inflict bitter breakups on their employers. Some were successful, some were not. Van Hooijdonk led Nottingham Forest to Premier League promotion in 1997-98 by scoring 29 goals in 42 league games. Yet where there should have subsequently been optimism, things soured as the Netherlands striker became increasingly upset with the club's inability to strengthen in the market, while also selling key players in Kevin Campbell and Colin Cooper.
