Everything you need to know about Georgina's engagement ring

Cosmopolitan ME6 days ago
If you were still catching your breath from Belly's engagement ring from The Summer I Turned Pretty, Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez just delivered the ultimate upgrade.
After nine years together, and a blended family of five kids, the football G.O.A.T and his long-time partner have officially put a (colossal) ring on it. And not just any ring: this diamond looks like it's been on Ronaldo's training schedule, hitting its protein goals and then some more.
On Monday, Rodríguez posted a candid close-up of the sparkler on Instagram with the caption, 'Sí, quiero. En esta y en todas mis vidas' ('Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives').
Their romance, which began with a chance meeting in a Gucci store in Madrid, has taken them from Spain to Saudi Arabia, with the Argentine- Spanish model front and center as the glamorous matriarch of their blended family. Fans have seen it all play out on her Netflix series I Am Georgina, where Ronaldo once teased he'd propose 'when we get that click.' Engagement whispers have surrounded the couple since their earliest public appearances together, picking up speed earlier this year, when Ronaldo called Georgina his 'wife' on stage at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai.
For a ring nine years in the making, it does not disappoint. Reports say it's an oval-cut diamond measuring over five centimetres long (yes, you read that right! ). Experts guess that the main oval diamond could be anywhere between 25-35 carats. And there's more, the main gem is flanked by two 'smaller' side stones , each the size of an average engagement ring. Experts estimate those to be around a carat each, with the whole thing landing somewhere between $2–$5 million depending on its cut, clarity, and color.
Jewellery influencer Julia Chafe summed it up best: 'it's like wearing a kettlebell on your finger'.

British actor Terence Stamp, Superman villain, dies aged 87

Terence Stamp, who made his name as an actor in 1960s London and went on to play the arch-villain General Zod in the Hollywood hits "Superman" and "Superman II", has died aged 87, his family said on Sunday. The Oscar-nominated actor starred in films ranging from Pier Paolo Pasolini's "Theorem" in 1968 and "A Season in Hell" in 1971 to "The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" in 1994 in which he played a transgender woman. The family said in a statement to Reuters that Stamp died on Sunday morning. "He leaves behind an extraordinary body of work, both as an actor and as a writer that will continue to touch and inspire people for years to come," the family said. "We ask for privacy at this sad time." Born in London's East End in 1938, the son of a tugboat stoker, he endured the bombing of the city during World War Two before leaving school to work initially in advertising, eventually winning a scholarship to go to drama school. Famous for his good looks and impeccable dress sense, he formed one of Britain's most glamorous couples with Julie Christie, with whom he starred in "Far From the Madding Crowd" in 1967. He also dated the model Jean Shrimpton and was chosen as a muse by photographer David Bailey. After failing to land the role of James Bond to succeed Sean Connery, he appeared in Italian films and worked with Federico Fellini in the late 1960s. He dropped out of the limelight and studied yoga in India before landing his most high-profile role - as General Zod, the megalomaniacal leader of the Kryptonians, in "Superman" in 1978 and its sequel in 1980. He went on to appear in a string of other films, including "Valkyrie" with Tom Cruise in 2008, "The Adjustment Bureau" with Matt Damon in 2011 and movies directed by Tim Burton.

Watch: First look of Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan's directorial debut revealed

Netflix has finally released the first look of Aryan Khan's 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood'. Megastar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan's directorial debut promises to deliver on everything Bollywood fans love — drama, romance, and action — but with a twist. The sneak peek begins with glimpses of a couple in love, paired with a voiceover of a famous dialogue from the movie Mohabbatein (staring Shah Rukh Khan). In fact, when the voiceover starts, you are almost convinced that it is Shah Rukh Khan himself speaking. But a few seconds in, there is a plot twist. Aryan Khan appears on screen, revealing that it is him doing the voiceover, and no, we are not in for another cosy romance. This show will be different — and darker. As a press release by Netlix says, "The first glimpse signals a generational shift, where the romance of the past meets the vision of a new storyteller." Watch the video here: Khan assures us as viewers that the show is about Bollywood, as the name suggests, but this is no cushy homage. This series is set to explore the dark and twisted sides of the glitz and glamour we see on the screen. As the director says, the show will toast Bollywood, but roast it too. The comments are full of anticipation and excitement, with many fans revealing their surprise at how similar the father-and-son pair sounds. The Netflix show, produced by Gauri Khan and Red Chillies Entertainment, will see a star-studded cast including Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Sahher Bambba, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, Vijayant Kohli and Gautami Kapoor. The release date of the series has not yet been confirmed. In a YouTube comment, Netflix revealed that this is video is but a teaser. The real trailer is set to be revealed on August 20, so mark your calendars!

The Capri Comeback: Why We're All Buying Cropped Pants For Pre-Fall

Worn by vintage style icons like Audrey Hepburn to modern day muses like Hailey Bieber, the capri pant refuses to be pegged to just one era Every so often, fashion resurrects a piece we thought we'd left behind for good. This season, that comeback star is the capri pant, the cropped mid-calf silhouette that was a wardrobe staple in the early 2000s and, if we go further back, a defining piece for style icons of the 50s and 60s. Only now, they've returned sleeker and infinitely more modern. Today's capris are nothing like the versions we remember from the past. Designers have reworked and reimagined them with precise tailoring, richer fabrics and cuts that are more flattering. Labels like Prada, Miu Miu, and The Row have all incorporated capris into their recent collections, each offering their own interpretation, from structured minimalist designs to playful, embellished versions. This isn't a fleeting micro-trend pulled from the depths of your teenage wardrobe. What sets them aside is their versatility – they're equally at home at a gallery opening, on a weekend coffee run, or at a sultry soirée. Pair them with a crisp button down and ballet flats for a polished look, or swap in a structured blazer for a chic, workwear take on the trend. Part of their renewed appeal lies in fashion's current penchant for timeless, investment worthy dressing. Capri pants embody the kind of style that does not belong to a single moment, they have been worn by everyone from Audrey Hepburn to modern day muses like Hailey Bieber, yet they never feel tied to one era. Instead, they act as a blank canvas for whatever mood you're in. While trends often swing between extremes, oversized looks one season, skin tight shapes the next, capris sit confidently in the middle. They're sleek but not severe, playful but can still be polished up. This versatility makes them a rare piece that can be worn over and over – the ultimate hybrid piece to pack for a long weekend. Capri pants aren't just back — they're the transition piece of the season. Effortless yet refined, they will make your shift from summer into autumn styling feel infinitely easier.
