Jake Tapper fumes over lefty podcaster implying his son is racist for wanting to be a cop: ‘This is why you f—ers are losing'

New York Post5 days ago

CNN anchor Jake Tapper recalled how a left-wing podcaster took a patronizing tone when he shared that his 15-year-old son wants to be a cop.
The unnamed podcaster implied that Tapper's son was racist due to his law enforcement aspirations, something that left the CNN anchor stunned and feeling that was emblematic of why Democrats have been losing elections.
'Their joke was about my 15-year-old son, 'Oh, how does he feel about minorities?'' Tapper recalled during an interview on 'The Prof G Pod' podcast last week. 'Like the idea that he wants to be a policeman, therefore he's, he's racist, my son. And like, you know, that was the big laugh.'
'Then I got dragged in the comments and all that stuff and, and I thought to myself, 'This is why you f—ers are losing elections.''
'The Prof G Pod' host Scott Galloway concurred, saying, 'One hundred percent.'
Jake Tapper argued that Democrats don't seem to have a great way of connecting with people like his son.

Tapper did not identify where this took place, saying it was a 'left-leaning podcast that shall remain nameless.' However, it appears to line up with his appearance on 'How Long Gone' back in April.
'How Long Gone' co-host Chris Black hit back at Tapper over the apparent dig.
'Him willfully choosing to take a joke wrong, that he definitely knew what it was in the moment, I would say is only a pro move,' Black said after a clip of Tapper's jab went viral. 'He spun it for his own gain, and it's working.'
Tapper has been doing the media circuit to promote 'Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again,' a tome he co-authored with star Axios reporter Alex Thompson that was released last week.
The CNN chief Washington correspondent's remarks came during a broader conversation about the Democratic Party's troubles with men.
'My son is now 15 years old, and he's a gamer. He's a football fan, starting linebacker on his varsity football team,' Tapper explained. 'The Democratic Party has no way of communicating with him. They have no entrée into his world.'
The CNN host also hit back at the condescending attitude in lefty circles towards people like his son and ripped into the jab at his desire to be a police officer.
'You're deciding he's a racist because he wants to be a cop. And why does he want to be a cop? He wants to be a cop because he wants to help people,' Tapper shot back. 'He thinks that's the best way he can help people. And that's how the Democratic Party talks to men, not just white men, but men.'

Gallego pushes to expand Dems' tent with eye on 2028

Freshman Sen. Ruben Gallego is already making moves to appeal to moderates and boost his national profile barely five months after winning his seat. Why it matters: Gallego (D-Ariz.) — like a growing number of Senate Democrats — is positioning himself for a possible 2028 presidential run as his party looks to build a fresh bench after their devastating loss in November. Gallego criticized the Democratic Party last month for "kicking people out of the tent" ahead of the 2024 election. "What happened the last election is that we got so pure, and we kept so pure that we started kicking people out of the tent," he said at a town hall in a Philadelphia-area swing district that Trump narrowly flipped. "It ends up there aren't enough people in the tent to win elections," he added. Zoom in: Gallego also released an immigration reform plan that pairs liberal priorities such as pathways to citizenship with conservative principles like increased border security funding. He had one of the best-ever fundraising debuts for a Senate Democrat, pulling in more than $1 million in his first quarter. Axios has learned that Gallego — who kept his seat in the Democrats' column despite Trump's victory in Arizona — is planning additional stops in key battlegrounds over the coming months. The big picture: There are signs that Gallego's appeals to moderates and conservatives are starting to make a difference for him back home. Gallego's 50% statewide approval rating in May is higher than Trump's and Democratic Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs', according to a recent poll by Noble Predictive Insights, a Phoenix-based nonpartisan polling firm. Gallego also doubled his overall favorability with Republican voters, with 37% of GOP voters viewing him favorably. His net favorability is higher than that of Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Az.), according to the survey. What they're saying: " Senator Gallego shows up, listens and delivers. Voters know he is fighting for them, and this has helped him build strong, bipartisan support across Arizona," Gallego's chief of staff Raphael Chavez-Fernandez told Axios. One senior GOP operative said Gallego is the type of Democrat who appeals to the swing voters that both parties fight over at each election.

Remy Ma Tells Claressa Shields To 'Refrain From Speaking' Amid Papoose Spat, Boxer Responds

Exes Remy Ma and Papoose's online tussle Thursday (May 22) night has spilled over into a new dawn, as the Bronx rapper took to her Instagram Stories Friday to call out Claressa Shields, Pap's current partner, for defending him via X/Twitter. The MC, born Reminisce Smith, chose not to identify the boxer by name, but made clear reference to her recent Breakfast Club interview where the 30-year-old Olympian said she and Papoose, 47, have discussed having children together. Shields also defended the Brooklyn rapper after Remy went on an Instagram rant regarding their past relationship. 'If you just turned 30 and allegedly just met someone 8 months ago that is 47 years old that I knew since you were 10 and was married to them since you were 13. and he has 4 biological children, one age 28 but will be 29, one age 25, another age 24 but will soon be 25, and a 6 year old baby and currently promising you a newborn while FINALLY agreeing to divorce 18 hours 54 minutes and 3 seconds ago, please refrain from speaking,' Remy posted, followed by the 'shh' emoji. Not one to back down, Shields responded within 45 minutes via X/Twitter, telling Remy that she will speak her mind freely and still has plans to start a family with the 'Thought I Was Gonna Stop' rapper. 'REMY MA! Imma say what the f**k I want to say! Yes we gonna have a family! Yes we're happy and yes you still invited to barbecues and cookout long as you have a good attitude! Leave me and Pap alone nobody worried about you! Yes I'm 30, not 18! You want to come to the fight or something !? DAMN!' Claressa also defended Papoose Thursday in a series of tweets where she spoke of his character and Remy's claim that he struggles financially. See those post below.
