Speaking on the Louis Theroux Podcast, McCurdy said her mom would subject her to 'breast and vaginal exams in the shower' saying she was 'checking for cancer'.

"I knew it felt violating for me,' McCurdy told Theroux, 'and I knew I didn't want it, but the one time I had attempted to even say, 'Hey, do you think I could shower myself?' she flew into hysterics."
The former Nickelodeon child star started acting at the age of 8 and was a main character on iCarly and Sam & Cat opposite Ariana Grande for years. Jennette admitted that growing up on the Nickelodeon shows caused her mental health to suffer, and that her self-image was drastically impacted as a result.

Hannah Spearritt and Louie Spence quit Celebrity SAS first

S Club 7 singer Hannah Spearritt and former TV dancer Louie Spence will no longer take part in the new series of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins. The Channel 4 military reality show opened with the 14 celebrity recruits hooded and standing on a breakwater before they were asked for their identities by chief instructor Billy Billingham who told many of the celebrities 'don't grin at me'. He then led them on two tasks, the first to plunge 26ft into the water and swim to intercept a boat, which picked them up, and the second to rescue three hostages from a building before blowing it up with a grenade. A post shared by SAS: Who Dares Wins (@sas_whodareswins) Before the second challenge began, Spearritt, 44, handed over her number tag to directing staff, telling them: 'I'm done, I'm sorry, I've reached a point'. In a pre-recorded interview which was played after her withdrawal, she said: 'I don't think I'll go on the first day,' adding she 'wouldn't forgive myself'. During the task, Spence, who is best known for the Sky TV show Pineapple Dance Studios, threw a grenade into the building while it still had two hostages in it and afterwards told the directing staff he wanted to withdraw. He was given a second chance to put his armband back on but turned it down. Spence said: 'I want to do an immediate withdrawal, I just don't have the conviction, and I feel as though I'm not dedicated enough.' A post shared by SAS: Who Dares Wins (@sas_whodareswins) He was told that he 'hadn't even started' but Spence replied 'that's what I mean'. After the first task, former model Rebecca Loos was pulled in by directing staff after she gave up during the swimming challenge. She was asked to open up on her alleged affair with footballer Sir David Beckham, who she worked for as a personal assistant, during the interrogation. In an interview before the first task, former Drag Race UK star Bimini Bon Boulash said the show would be 'a piece of p***' after growing up as a queer person in Norfolk. After the second task, former Watford striker Troy Deeney, who also threw a grenade into the building before clearing the hostages, was pulled in by the instructors where he opened up on physical abuse he and his mother received from his late father. The show sees celebrities enter SAS training where they are not eliminated and are instead culled by the directing staff or able to withdraw themselves, with those who remain at the end declared the winners. Jason Momoa's Chief of War crew 'blessed' by volcano erupting for first time in decades

A volcano erupted for the first time in over three decades while Apple TV's Chief of War was filming in Hawaii Te Kohe Tuhaka, star of Chief of War, has shared a remarkable moment of natural beauty that occurred during the filming of Apple TV+'s highly praised new historical drama. ‌ The series, which stars, is co-written and executive produced by Jason Momoa, sees the Game of Thrones actor take on the role of real-life Hawaiian warrior Ka'iana during the turbulent turn of the 19th Century. ‌ The show delves into Pacific Island history in an unprecedented way, featuring a predominantly Polynesian cast who shot most of their scenes in New Zealand. ‌ However, some key moments were filmed in Hawaii itself, including an ambitious sequence set against the backdrop of Kalapana's lava fields. In an extraordinary coincidence, the Mauna Loa volcano erupted for the first time in three decades while filming was ongoing, and ceased just as the cast wrapped up their final scenes, reports the Express. ‌ Momoa described the awe-inspiring moment in an interview with Entertainment Weekly: "You can't write that s***. "You're obviously stirring up a lot of spirits and mana. It was unbelievable, but there was a really positive energy." Express Online recently had the opportunity to speak with Momoa's co-star Tuhaka, who plays Ka'iana's brother Namakeʻ, about the ambitious production of Chief of War. ‌ "We arrived, our first day of the shoot, the volcano goes off," the New Zealand actor remembered. "And then, when we wrapped, as soon as our last day there, wrap was called, boom. It stopped. "It was intense and beautiful at the same time, and pretty overwhelming. Especially when we were setting up shots with lots of warriors and extras going on, fight extras." ‌ Teasing that viewers will witness the spectacle themselves during the episode, he continued: "You can see the glow from the volcano. "It was a beautiful thing to be a part of, and culturally I was just like, 'Whoa, that is a sign'." Momoa, Tuhaka and the programme's entire cast all appeared to interpret the unexpected eruption as a positive omen that Chief of War is honouring Hawaii's rich history and culture properly. ‌ "Because of the way I love my culture I read into those things quite a lot," Tuhaka reveals. ‌ "Personally, from my perspective, I went, 'Oh, that is a beautiful sign, a beautiful Hawaiian sign that this is something that is waking up the land in some way'." Regarding the actual content of the scene, the actor is remaining tight-lipped about spoilers. Nevertheless, he did reveal there'll be an exciting action sequence in the series finale that's absolutely worth waiting for. "Without giving too much away, there is a scene in [episode] nine... that's all I can really say to it," he hinted. "But it was physically demanding, it required an intense focus which I haven't had to lean into before and it caps everything off really, really nicely. Ep nine, epic scene. So, keep watching."

Dave Hughes labelled 'annoying' by Logies viewers after his 'painful' on-stage appearance

Fans have taken to social media to slam Dave Hughes after his foul-mouthed appearance at Sunday's Logie Awards. Taking the stage alongside fellow comedian and Logie winner Guy Montgomery to present the award for Best Telemovie or Miniseries, Hughes joked about how he had never won the coveted TV gong. He also made an off-colour joke about having to eat a boar's penis while filming the latest season of I'm a Me Out of Here. 'How does it feel to win a Logie?' he asked Guy, before adding, 'I've been to 25 [Logie Awards] and I haven't won a Logie! 'I haven't even accepted one on someone else's behalf.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Hughes continued his 'I've never won a Logie' theme with a crack about his role on the last season I'm a Me Out of Here. '...That show has been nominated every year since its inception – except for this year.' He then told a yarn about how he was left with a moral dilemma while filming the survival series. Hughes, a vegan, said he was asked to compromise his principles by producers while filming the show during an eating challenge. 'I said ''what am I eating?'' And they said a ''boar's penis'' – that's jumping into the deep end when you haven't eaten meat for 15 years,' Hughes joked. He continued, 'I had a moral dilemma. I love animals and I love being on TV. I had a think about it and I said ''give me the c***''.' Fans took to X to criticise the funnyman's performance and attacked everything from his humour to his familiar 'shouty' style of delivery. 'Jeez Dave Hughes is so embarrassing these days. Never won a Logie for a reason,' one user said on the thread. Another fan added, 'Dave Hughes is not funny, [he is] annoying & self-important. 'His schtick with his stuttered robotic voice (on top of the pitch) is just grating & ick. Go away. 'PS. Admitting he loves being on TV (ie. attention) is the realest thing he's said in years.' A third Logie viewer also took Hughes to task for his style: 'Screeching at 11:30 pm. Shoot. Me. Now.' Another viewer was equally harsh. '[He's] another cancer with an annoying, loud, nasally voice. If he comes back to present the Logies — social media would crash,' they wrote. Still, it appears that Dave Hughes fan was prepared to a good word for radio and TV veteran.
