Georgia May Foote first found fame on Coronation Street but the Strictly Come Dancing winner has been working as a nail technician for the last four years
Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has revealed that her beauty business has burned down in a fire. The 34-year-old took to her Instagram page to tell her followers about the sad news.
The Strictly Come Dancing winner has been working as a nail technician as well as acting for the last four years and has her own beauty business. Georgia explains in the video that other people's businesses have also been impacted by the fire.

She said: "Now as some of you may know I've been a nail technician now for the past 4 years alongside my acting. Unfortunately my beautiful little studio was affected by a huge fire within the storage world unit in Middleton last night.

"Not only has my business burnt down, but so has many other peoples. Along with peoples most loved possessions. My heart goes out to them all."
She added: "Even though as beauticians we can move into a new space, our stock and tools, which we spend years collecting have all gone. We can no longer work. My friends and fellow beauticians have to literally start again. With no way of even making the money to buy these tools.
"Some of them have children. I am asking if you could please help us all by just giving a little towards helping my friends rebuild their businesses.
"We would be eternally grateful. Fire is the most devastating thing. Thousands of pounds of stock has gone in seconds."

Friends and fans of the star took to the comment section to leave their sympathetic comments. One said: "Love this! Let the community come together."
As a second wrote: "Sending you all so much love this is just heartbreaking," with a third adding: "So sorry. Let me know if I can help."
Georgia recently opened up about struggling with an incurable skin disease. The former Coronation Street star is living with vitiligo and shared photos of the disorder while admitting she was having a tough time handling the illness.

According to the NHS, vitiligo is a "long-term condition where pale white patches develop on the skin" and is caused by an autoimmune disorder. Georgia said that she first started suffering with the issue in 2020 but it's only got worse and is now on her face.
She snapped a selfie as she sat in her car and wrote: "My heart goes out to anyone who has this condition. Mine was brought on in 2020 [upside down face] I wonder why!
"I just wanted to show the reality of it. Some days are so so hard and I get so angry about it. I will always try to be brave to show others with the condition that it's ok. Sometimes it gets the best of me."
She added: "We have got this. I pray one day we get the cream passed for use in this country. When I go on holiday in a few weeks I beg to please be kind with comments. I know you will be able to see a lot and it's going to be hard to deal with."

'We're lucky the editors clearly like us', Rylan added: 'Because the stuff they've had to cut out is career-ending… We're like, 'Yeah, can we not use that please?!'' Rylan, and Linda, 72, have featured on the celebrity edition of the Channel 4 hit since it started back in 2019. Many fans have come to adore them, calling for them to have their own spin-off show. Major supermarket called out by disgruntled customer over sloppy Juneteenth cakes

Supermarket chain Kroger has been called out by a disgruntled shopper over the underwhelming designs of its Juneteenth cakes. Juneteenth is a federal holiday that takes place on June 19 each year, marking the emancipation of slaves in the US. While pursuing some of the Juneteenth-themed cakes in her local Kroger in Atlanta, Georgia this week, one shopper was left outraged by the selection compared to the rest of the store's cakes. The woman, who identified herself as 'Blaq Monalisa' on TikTok, posted a video about the incident titled 'I am done with Krogers' to the social media platform. 'This is some bulls**t,' she snapped. 'Who the hell made this ugly a** s**t?' She then showed off some of the cakes, one of which said 'free @ last' in blue icing. The phrase 'free at last', which was immortalised by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in his historic 'I Have a Dream' speech, has long symbolised the fight for freedom and equality for Black people. Popular supermarket chain Kroger has been called out by a disgruntled shopper over the underwhelming designs on its Juneteenth cakes 'Y'all decorate everything else around here cute, everything else around here cute,' she continued. 'But for Juneteenth, you wanna just throw something on a freaking cookie cake and expect someone to buy it?' The woman then said that she was going to return to the store to speak to the manager about the issue. 'I'm a be in here bright, early in the morning to talk to somebody about this, because this is unacceptable,' she said. The woman did indeed return to the store the next day to discover that all the Juneteenth desserts had been removed. 'Yo, TikTok, y'all did it,' she said, referring to her original video which has so far racked up over six million views. 'I know ain't nobody buy those cookies and they gone,' she continued. 'I still feel some type of way that they didn't replace them with better Juneteenth cakes,' she added, before pointing out that the traditional 'red, white and blue' desserts looked much better. The shopper's video drew a strong reaction online, with many agreeing that the desserts appeared to be subpar. 'Why I immediately thought the "free @ last" was for someone being released from jail,' wrote one. 'If you didn't bring up juneteenth I would've thought it was a welcome home from jail cake,' wrote another. 'Gurl! Not the last one saying "Congratulations". Like, "Congratulations, you're free!"' wrote a third. 'They DEAD WRONG!!! That 'Free at last ' & 'Free' cookie cake had to be the last two they were working on before they clocked out,' added another. Kroger responded to the controversy with a statement to 'The cakes and cookies that were featured in the video were inconsistent with our provided guidance and not of the quality we would expect to see from our stores,' a spokesperson for the store said. 'The products have been removed, and we've addressed this directly with the store teams and the customer who took the initial video.' In 2021, President Joe Biden put pen to paper at the White House to make it a federally- recognized holiday to mark the emancipation of enslaved Americans 155 years earlier. The signing of the bill into law means the day is celebrated annually as part of the government calendar. The holiday has gone through many iterations including Jubilee Day, Freedom Day, Liberation Day and Emancipation Day. It celebrates the day when Union Army General George Granger freed the last slaves in Texas on June 19, 1865, which Democratic Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee described as the moment America 'truly became the land of the free and the home of the brave'.

Coronation Street's Georgia May Foote suffers huge loss as fire rips though her beauty business

Former Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has suffered a huge loss after a fire ripped through her beauty business on Wednesday. The actress-turned-beautician, 34, who is best known for playing Katie Armstrong on the ITV soap, explained how the storage unit near Manchester caught ablaze. She said a slew of small studios and businesses, including her own, were affected by the blaze in an update shared to Instagram. Speaking in the clip, Georgia said: 'Unfortunately my little business was affected by a huge fire within the storage works unit in Middleton last night. 'Not only has my business burned down, but so has many other people's most loved possessions.' The former Strictly contestant then pleaded with fans to come forward with a donation, to help cover the costs of all the stock and equipment lost in the fire. Georgia continued: 'Even though as beauticians we can move into a new space, our stock and tools which we spend years collecting have all gone. 'We can no longer work, my friends and beauticians have to start again, with no way of making the money to buy these tools. I'm asking you all to give a little to help my friends rebuild their business.' The actress has endured a tumultuous time of late as she's recently opened up about a series of health struggles, including the skin condition vitiglio. Last year she appeared on This Morning Live, where she spoke about the condition which is caused by a lack of pigment in the skin. Then after a holiday to Egypt in May 2024, she shared a photo of her hands with the caption: 'Every time I go on holiday and I get a beautiful tan, I see how much my vitiligo has spread more than ever before. 'I would be lying if I didn't say it gets to me. It makes me feel super insecure at times. But seeing how the people around me support me and still love me the same makes my heart feel full. 'I've noticed people staring, having a good old nosey with their faces screwed up, and that's when my heart drops. 'So this is just a friendly reminder to those people to be kind. I'm sure the way it makes you feel is nothing in comparison to how the person with it feels.' After a holiday to Egypt, the Strictly Come Dancing runner up shared a picture of her hands and uploaded a lengthy post urging people to be kind The TV actress then expressed her wish to be a spokesperson for the unsightly condition. 'I'm proud to be a voice for people like me with the condition. I battle with how I feel about it every day,' she said. 'Today's one of those days I remember there is nothing I can do about it. So here we are. Showing it in all its glory (I do have lipstick on, but my whole colour has now gone in and around my lips).' During her time on Corrie, Georgia's character Katy was the youngest daughter of Owen Armstrong (Ian Puleston-Davies) and the sister of Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston). Georgia enjoyed some spicy storylines, including a surprise pregnancy and an affair. But then in 2017 showrunners gave her character an offscreen death, after she was written out via a car accident, closing the door on any future comebacks. Aside from showbuisness, Georgia is married to musician Kris Evans and the pair celebrated a year of being married last July.
