Luis Guevara was only 19 years old. He was full of dreams. He had just started his baseball journey in the United States. But now, that journey has suddenly ended. His life was cut short in a terrible accident in Florida.

Venezuelan Luis Guevara was born. He was a young infielder driven to make professional baseball. At an incredibly young age, he joined the Baltimore Orioles organization. For his first two years, he played in the Dominican Summer League, where many Latin American players first start their careers.
Over 114 total minor league games, Luis stole 44 bases, 49 RBIs, and achieved a.

Luis Guevara died on June 16 in a jet ski crash in Florida
Luis Guevara was injured in a jet ski accident off Lido Key, Sarasota, Florida, on Sunday, June 16, 2025. Two jet skis reportedly collided head-on; each had two people. One of the watercraft kept Luis. Even while rescue teams swarmed in, he regrettably passed away.
On Tuesday, the Orioles verified his death. They didn't say what caused the death at first, but multiple reports later confirmed it was due to the jet ski crash.
The Florida Complex League Orioles canceled games on Monday and Tuesday to honor their teammate.
Mike Elias, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the Orioles, released a heartfelt statement:
'Luis was a beloved member of our organization, and we are devastated following his tragic passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and teammates. We ask for their continued privacy during this difficult time.'
Teammates who played with him in the Dominican Republic and have continued to do so in the United States describe him as kind, humble and constantly laboring. Some of them posted pictures and memories on social media.
It was a big loss for Luis Guevara's family, the Orioles and baseball. He was just getting started. He dreamed of making the big leagues. He was chasing that dream to the very end.
