Unlike last year, Scottish champions Celtic aren't guaranteed a spot in the Champions League league phase.
Instead, Brendan Rodgers' side will have to navigate the play-off round to reach the competition proper.
Rangers, meanwhile, have already come through the second qualifying round after seeing-off Panathinaikos.
While Celtic are already waiting in the play-off round, Rangers still have to punch their ticket there.
Russell Martin's men will take on Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen in the third qualifying round with the winners of that making it into the play-off round.
BOTH clubs will know what lies ahead with the play-off draw taking place this Monday.
While Rangers still have to get there, the Light Blues will know what lies ahead should they navigate past Plzen over the next week or so.

The Buddies gaffer has warned that those who have come in to replace the talent that left will take time to relaise their potential. Stephen Robinson insists the players St Mirren bring in are never a 'like-for-like' replacement for class acts on the move. The Buddies appear to be at the beginning of a 'new cycle' following a number of high-profile departures. Richard Taylor, Caolan Boyd-Munce and Toyosi Olusanya are among those who have been brought in, with potential realised, success enjoyed and big deals secured. Now the Northern Irishman is hoping to do it all over again after a busy summer which has seen nine new arrivals and 11 put pen to paper in total. And the early signs are promising with Premier Sports Cup qualification secured and a hard-working performance in the 1-0 Premiership defeat to Celtic delivered. 'We've lost almost 50 per cent of our first-team squad that was here last year, including Toyosi, who left slightly before that,' boss Robbo said. 'We don't buy like for like. We don't replace them like for like because we buy and bring players in with attributes that we like and are trying to make them better. So, they've done that. They stood up, the new players. [against Celtic]. They'll get better.' Saints' starting line-up in Glasgow's east end saw five of the 11 summer signings start the match. Shamal George, Richard King and Jayden Richardson were new faces alongside Killian Phillips and Roland Idowu, who turned loan moves into permanent transfers. Tunmise Sobowale and Malik Dijksteel later came off the bench in the Buddies quest for an opening-day point. Robbo believes that, although there were still some players he didn't utilise on Sunday, such as Jalmaro Calvin and Miguel Freckleton, the full squad gives him more options when it comes to changing things around. He went on to say: 'There were boys on the bench that perhaps I wasn't able to use. They've only been in maybe days and weeks at most, so we believe we're a stronger squad than last year. 'I believe we've got a little bit more variety and I believe the squad will continue to grow.' Meanwhile, the 50-year-old has explained the reasons behind academy graduate Fraser Taylor's half-time substitution against Celtic. He said: 'It wasn't anything that Fraz had done — and I said that to him — and, of course, he's disappointed but we've got a lot of faith in him. He's been excellent. We didn't have a lot of the ball. When you've got the ball, Fraz dictates. 'Obviously, we put Mark back in there. He gives us that athleticism and a little bit more know-how as well against Celtic when you're starting to drop a little bit deeper. So, no slant on him at all. 'We just went positive and put two strikers right up the pitch, and we believed it caused them more problems, but sometimes your end decision could have been better. But certainly no slant on Fraz — and we've got a lot of faith in the young man.' Saints begin their home slate of Premiership fixtures this Saturday against Motherwell. The Premier Sports Cup last-16 tie at home to Derek McInnes' Hearts will then follow on Saturday, August 16.

Rangers vs Viktoria Plzen injury news: 11 out of Ibrox clash as Russell Martin dealt Ibrox blow
Rangers will look to take another step towards qualification for the Champions League as they face Viktoria Plzen in the first leg of the third qualifying round at Ibrox on Tuesday (kick-off: 7.45pm). Brendan Rodgers has so far signed Shin Yamada, Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan, Benjamin Nygren, Callum Osmand and Hayato Inamura. The Japanese striker scored the winning penalty against the Saudi side. He officially arrived on July 19 and today the club has unveiled Manchester City defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey. The 19-year-old has joined the Parkhead outfit on loan for the duration of the 2025/26 campaign. There is no option to buy clause inserted as part of the deal. The England youth international has played six games for Manchester City, and ironically made his non-competitive debut against Celtic in 2024 under Pep Guardiola. He joined the Man City academy at the age of eight and his move to Celts is the first time he has been sent out on loan. He is rated highly by those at the Etihad and was crowned PL2 Player of the Year last season. Celtic beat off the likes of Ligue 1 side Strasbourg for his signature. Going in the opposite direction, Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke have been allowed to leave the club and Stephen Welsh is on the verge of finalising a loan to Plymouth Argyle in League One.
