I got matching tattoos with Harry Styles after meeting him in a hotel at 17 – now I'm the envy of every One Directioner

The Sun01-07-2025
A YOUNG woman has revealed that when she was just 17, she 'snuck out' and got a matching tattoo with Harry Styles.
Savannah Phillips, a young woman from the United States, has gone viral online after opening up about the tattoo story and is now the envy of every One Direction fan.
Posting on social media, the blonde beauty shared a snap of her and Harry Styles, 31, from back in 2012, and claimed that Harry had sketched a heart for her, which she got tattooed on her ankle.
After being bombarded with hundreds of questions from desperate One Direction fans who were eager to know more on the backstory, soon after Savannah uploaded a follow-up clip, whereby she explained how her friendship with Harry started.
Savannah claimed that she first met Harry, who was recently spotted snogging a mystery woman at Glastonbury, and the rest of the One Direction band in Los Angeles, whilst out for her aunt's birthday at the W Hotel.
Whilst eating lunch, Savannah and her family soon noticed that One Direction were sitting next to them and they eventually got talking.
After finding out that it was one of One Direction's first times in LA, Savannah recommended they go to In-N-Out Burger - and before long, they were all there together.
Not only this, but the lads then invited Savannah and her family to one of their concerts.
Savannah and Harry in particular stayed connected through texting and just a few weeks later, when Savannah was only 17 at the time, she found herself in her car with Harry.
They went to her house where they tucked into shrimp tacos and Harry shared his desire to get a tattoo that evening, as she explained: 'Harry kept mentioning throughout the night, 'I wanna get a tattoo'.'
Savannah claimed that she had always wanted a tattoo, but her mother wouldn't allow it.
Despite this, the pair soon found themselves in a tattoo parlour, as Savannah confessed: 'He goes and grabs a big piece of paper and a pen and he's just drawing something for like five, 10 minutes, and then he walks up to me with a piece of paper and is like 'get this'.'
Harry Styles fans shocked as 1D star snaps pic of them on holiday in Rome - and DMs it to them months later
Savannah confirmed that Harry had called her mum from the shop to get her approval and just minutes later, she had his sketched heart inked onto her ankle.
Savannah beamed: 'I got it done and it didn't hurt, because I think my adrenaline was pumping so hard.'
It was a very strange, surreal and sweet chapter of my life that I am very grateful for

Savannah later confirmed that Harry also got inked whilst with her that same night.
Reflecting on her friendship with Harry, Savannah acknowledged: 'People ask if we're still in touch and, no, I haven't been in touch with Harry for a very long time, but I know if I run into him on the street, he would give me a hug, it'd be like no time had passed.
'I still do keep in contact with some of the crew and the band members - we all have very different lives now, it was a very strange, surreal and sweet chapter of my life that I am very grateful for.'
Which tattoos hurt the most?
Depending on what part of your body you choose to ink, tattoos can range significantly in terms of pain levels.
Some of the most painful areas are those where the skin tends to be thinner or closer to the bone.
Each area has specific factors which contribute to the level of pain.
Ribcage: Thin skin, little muscle, and many nerve endings.
Feet and ankles: Many bones, tendons, and nerve endings close to the surface.
Hands and fingers: Many bones, tendons, and nerve endings, resulting in increased pain during tattooing. Knuckles can be especially painful.
Spine: Proximity of the spinal cord and nerve endings makes it sensitive. Tattooing directly over the vertebrae can be especially painful.
Knees and elbows: Thin skin and little padding between the skin and the underlying bones.
Armpits and groin: High concentration of nerve endings and lymph nodes.
Neck and throat: Thin and sensitive skin, with many nerve endings and blood vessels close to the surface.

Harry Styles' fans gasp
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ thatsavchick, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up 1.6 million views, 250,800 likes and 1,797 shares.
Fans of Harry Styles were gobsmacked by Savannah's story and many raced to the comments to express their jealousy.
One person asked: 'How does it feel to live every One Directioner's dream?'
Another added: 'You're everything I ever wanted to be….'
A third commented: "I'm not a jealous person but that changes today.'
Someone else revealed: 'Teenage me would have been jealous of you.'
Whilst one avid Harry Styles fan wrote: 'I will peel your skin off and wear it myself.'

Ohio review – spine-tingling folk harmonies and life's big questions

Music is a lifeline for Abigail and Shaun Bengson. Baring their souls through song, Ohio is introduced as a 'death concert' in response to the indie-folk musicians' young son asking what happens when we die. But this bittersweet story of family, faith and loss is almost ferociously about grabbing hold of life. The Bengsons create harmonies that glide directly to the top of your spine. Both clearly feel the music in their bones, but it's Abigail who shows it, her body unable to resist moving to the tumbling scales they create together, her bright, beaming face turned up to the sky. Director Caitlin Sullivan helps the pair gracefully shape their story on stage, treading softly between gig, presentation and choir rehearsal. The potted narrative sticks closer to Shaun, who is the drily comic balance to Abigail's bounding enthusiasm. Guiding us through his repressive Lutheran upbringing, he eases out of the religion's grasp but holds on to what faith means for his father, and what his father means to him. Narrowing our focus, the show homes in on Shaun's degenerative hearing loss. In one revelatory scene, their microphones are modulated for us to understand what Shaun hears now, certain tones and consonants absent to him, then thickening and distorting as that blank mugginess will intensify over time. With creative captions that tremble as the sensory experience distorts, this slow theft is devastatingly wrought. The pair create the atmosphere of holding our hands throughout, with angelic, ululating folk song accompanying the thoughtful ways they see and explain life. Their story serves as both a formal introduction to them as a couple as well as a deeply spiritual meditation on the world we live in. A revenant hush accompanies everything they say. A song to Shaun's choirmistress who helped a shy, almost unspoken child unfurl is shattering. Made freshly aware of time slipping through our fingers, no one wants to miss a moment. That Alien, Sound review – super-kooky indie comedy puts sound-wave ET in woman's body

'You continue to play this alien part, and I'm fucking over it – I've had enough.' On that note, uptight boyfriend Shannon (Will Tranfo) kicks the woman he thought was his girlfriend out of the car – and perhaps echoes the audience's thoughts about this grindingly zany indie sci-fi comedy. And that's only 10 minutes into Brando Topp's directing debut, in which Mika (Mia Danelle) is rocking out to gnarly sounds on her headphones when her body is hijacked by an alien soundwave that was formerly stuck in space listening to the vibrations coming from Earth. That Alien, Sound plays out like a lo-fi LA sweding of The Man Who Fell to Earth. Stupefied at having a body, the wave – later dubbed Sound – bugs Shannon by chucking tissues around the car and trying to grab the steering wheel. Back at her bewildered parents' house, she marvels at the five senses and, excited by a fried breakfast, burns herself on the pan. Her brother Deyo (Deyo Forteza) takes her to his band's jam session; a chance for the once-disembodied oscillation to be in the presence of real live music. This cosmic body-swap scenario is infuriatingly loose, with no obvious reason for the soundwave gimmick other than the innate kookiness. Self-infatuated scenes sprawl out for too long with all the discipline of an Echo Park hipster improv group after a long night on the edibles. Sound, indignant at what she finds on terra firma, is increasingly gripped by outraged soliloquies about climate change and human megalomania; these are the kind of trite interventions that give wokeness a bad name. But matters do pick up in the film's final phase, as Sound, Shannon and Deyo head to a music festival to make a radio transmission that they hope will bring Mika back. As the story coalesces around her and Shannon's failing relationship, the alien conceit starts to make more sense in terms of a strangeness in his partner he feels threatened by, and the new identity she is seeking. Even some of the heavy quirk – turning up at the jamboree cosplaying as Mozart – starts to seem charming as Topp's directing locks into place around actual themes. It goes to show: inside every annoyingly tricksy indie comedy is a decent road movie trying to get out. That Alien, Sound is on digital platforms from 18 August.
