Leonardo DiCaprio's ‘biggest regret' in his career is turning down this iconic movie

Leonardo DiCaprio has one big regret about his career. 'I'll say it even though you're here: My biggest regret is not doing 'Boogie Nights,'' DiCaprio, 50, told Paul Thomas Anderson, who directed the 1997 porn epic, during an Esquire interview published Wednesday. 'It was a profound movie of my generation,' DiCaprio stated, adding, 'I can't imagine anyone but Mark [Wahlberg] in it.' 13 Leonardo Dicaprio for Esquire. 'I'm not saying I would have,' he said when asked if he could go back and change his decision. 'But it would have been a different direction, careerwise. 'That's simply because it was such a special moment to me,' he said of starring in the Howard Hughes biopic. 'I had worked with Marty [Scorsese] on 'Gangs of New York,' and I'd been toting around a book on Howard Hughes for ten years. I almost did it with Michael Mann, but there was a conflict and I ended up bringing it to Marty.' 13 Leonardo DiCaprio in 'The Aviator.' AP 13 Leonardo DiCaprio and Cate Blanchett in 'The Aviator.' I felt responsible in a whole new way. I've always felt proud and connected to that film as such a key part of my growing up in this industry and taking on a role of a real collaborator for the first time.' The 'Don't Look Up' actor also explained how he's made it a point to not overwork himself at this point in his career. 13 Leonardo DiCaprio attends the Warner Bros. 'Life goes on hold when you're filming. Everything stops and gets put on the back burner in your real life. I might be more concerned if I worked too much.' 'To go from film to film, I would be scared about what do I have to come back to?' he added. 'I'm very fortunate for that.'

Denzel Washington rips Jerry Jones, state of the Cowboys on ‘First Take'

Celebrity Cowboys fan and Hollywood A-lister Denzel Washington ripped owner Jerry Jones during an appearance on ESPN's 'First Take.' Washington and Spike Lee were appearing on the ESPN program to promote their new movie 'Highest 2 Lowest' when the Cowboys came up, and the two-time Academy Award-winning actor took aim at the the franchise's owner. 'I've been a Cowboys fan since the '60s. He's making it hard for me,' Washington said about Jones. 'Not to be a fan, because I'm still a Cowboys fan. I'm still going to have the star on the side of the hat, but he ain't thinking about us. He's thinking about his pocket.' Jerry Jones attends the Premiere of Netflix's 'America's Team: The Gambler And His Cowboys' at The Egyptian Theatre Hollywood on August 11, 2025 Getty Images The Cowboys are in the middle of a very public and terse negotiation with star pass rusher Micah Parsons, who is looking for a contract extension. Parsons has expressed a desire to be traded elsewhere after negotiations continued to stall and the Cowboys' owner seemed to take shots at the football player through comments in the media. The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing season in 2024, where the team missed the postseason. 'There's box office and there's Oscars, Jerry,' an intense-looking Washington said into the camera. 'Been a while, huh? Ain't been to the show, you wouldn't know… what it is to win.' 'And I love the Cowboys!' Washington added. 'I love the Cowboys. Because I really love them, this is why I feel the way I feel.' But Washington got one final shot in at Jones when he paraphrased a tagline for the movie: 'All money ain't good money, Jerry.' Denzel Washington weighs in on the state of the Cowboys during an appearance on First Take. ESPN/YouTube The Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl title since 1995 and haven't made it beyond the divisional round in that span either, further upsetting fans of the struggling franchise. Before last season, Dallas did make it to the postseason in three straight seasons, but fell well short in each of those appearances.

Sling's New Day Pass Lets You Watch Live TV for One Day

We've all been there: The Super Bowl or the Oscars are about to start, and you're scrambling to figure out how to watch it. You end up having to sign up for a whole month of a live TV streaming service, which then shows up on your bank account again the next month – and the next and the next – until you finally remember to cancel it. Before you know it, you're out several hundred dollars for a single night of TV, wondering if paying for cable wasn't so bad after all. No more. Sling's new Day Pass makes this expensive headache a thing of the past by bringing back what we all loved about streaming in the first place: flexibility. Day Pass customizes live TV to your viewing habits, letting you sign up for exactly the amount of time you want to watch, whether it's a day, a weekend or a week. Catch your live event today without canceling later Streaming has made it easier than ever to break with the schedule of live TV and watch your TV whenever you want. But sometimes there's a big live event you don't want to miss, whether it's the season premiere of a buzzy new show, a big sports championship, or an awards show like the Emmys or the MTV Music Awards. That can be a challenge for casual viewers, especially since the cost of live TV streaming services keeps climbing closer to the old cable bundles it replaced, forcing you to shell out for way more TV than you want. Sling Sling's new Day Pass puts you back in control by letting you subscribe at a much lower rate for a fixed amount of time. If you want to see a big game, you can choose the Day Pass for $4.99 and watch your event for the price of renting a movie. Want to catch the final matches of the U.S. Open or World Series? Sign up for a Weekend Pass for $9.99 and get live TV from Friday morning through Sunday night. Watching the playoffs or settling in for a school break? A Week Pass for $14.99 gives you access to your favorite sports, entertainment and news for the next seven days without the risk of recurring changes. Add Sling Extras to your Day Pass at a discounted rate Along with their new Day Pass options, Sling is now offering even more choices to customize your streaming while still keeping costs low.
